spending today curled up on the couch with my cats, coffee, books, and space heater 🐱🐱☕️📚 Just took a break from Nevermoor to read this short, but super fun beginning to a graphic novel series. I LOVED the art in this! 😍 Easily my favorite art in a graphic novel to date. Wood-man made me laugh out loud. 🤣 This kind of reminded me of the cartoon Adventure Time, which is why I think I loved it so much. I need the rest! 🙏🏼

halfway through Nevermoor and I am LOVING IT. 👏🏼 This middle grade is definitely living up to the hype so far (it’s been compared to Harry Potter🙀🤐). 🙌🏼 The world is magical, the characters are silly and brilliant and dark and I love them, AND the writing is so seamless! 😍 I’ve been taking my time getting though this one because I don’t want it to end! 🤓📚⚡️

I spent my morning in a coffee shop sippin’ on an unsweetened soy chai and read this manga and it was SO GOOD (the book and the coffee☕️📖💕😁). Guys, this is my first manga ever and I loved it. Totally different experience, but I think I can say I’m officially hooked 😍 This manga is about a boy in 5th grade who bullies a new girl who is deaf until she’s forced to transfer to a different school. 😞 Such an intense subject matter, which the writer didn’t shy away from at ALL. I appreciated the honesty, as it really made me emotional. I need to read the 2nd one ASAP! ❤️📚

Guys, I can’t help it. The Selection series is SUCH a guilty pleasure. 🙈 It’s like The Bachelor meets Hunger Games and so ridiculous and I love it. 😹 I read all of the books on my kindle back in 2015 and have been wanting physical copies SO badly. Shoutout to my mother in law for getting me this series for Christmas! 😍🙏🏼💕 What’s a series, book, or trope that’s a guilty pleasure for you?

“...but adults often complicate simplicity.” 📖✨ | does anyone else just LOVE middle grade novels and the sweet, whimsical stories they weave? I’m slightly obsessed. Also... illustrations. I’m such a sucker for illustrations! What’s your favorite middle grade book?? I need more suggestions!

Re-reading this bad boy this month because I’m not apart of a REAL LIFE BOOK CLUB(!) 🎉📖✨ that’s right... real live PEOPLE. It’s amazing. I’m excited. WHOOP 🙌🏼📚 Anyways, this book was one of my most favorite reads in 2017, but I read it the month before my wedding (it was the ONLY book I read in then month of June) and I really don’t think I enjoyed it as much as I will now. All that to say: I’m looking forward to refreshing my memory on what happened in the first one, and continuing the series! If you’re a fan of sci-fy (or not, because let’s be real, I’m really not a fan of sci-fy usually), I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Least favorite books of 2017 👎🏼 Not pictured: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (I know, I’m sorry! 😩) and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. ••• I wanted to love these books so much, but they fell really flat for me. Caraval was the first book I ever pre-ordered, and I was so excited for it! The cover and concept was so beautiful, but I ended up hating it! 🙅🏼‍♀️ I think Heir of Fire makes me the most sad, because Throne of Glass was in my top favorites from this year! But I could NOT get myself further in this series though. Tried all year guys, I promise! ☹️ #unpopularopinion
