Mother

My only prayer right at this moment is to become a better mother. Just like my Mama who sacrifices a lot - her time, energy, understanding and patience - to take care of my children, so I can go to work everyday. Thank you Mama, I love you more than you'll ever know. I wouldn't know what to do without you. Sorry that because of me you feel tired and a lot more. Just like my Nanay who was able to take care of us when she was still stronger. Despite her pain she continues to look at us with that caring eyes. She's tired but we know she listens as she always does. We know she loves us as she always does. Just like my mother-in-law, who gently awaits our visit to her home. Who always checks on us and the children. Who listens attentively to our stories and understands why we cannot come as often as before. Despite the distance we know she loves us dearly and prays for us early in the morning. Just like my titas, cousins and friends. With the moments spent with them, I learned more and more about motherhood. And just like the Mother of God, Mama Mary..who inspires me of her gentleness and strength. Her faith and love. So my prayer is really to be a better mother...just like them. Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and mother figures! When I was still studying I wished to graduate right away I wanted to start earning for myself Wanted to help my family Before graduation, everything was planned I will work in this industry I will be in this profession Somehow I got what I wanted I worked in a setting that I dreamt of I thought that's it...but it wasn't There were more wants..incomplete feelings More hunger not satisfied I'm starting to drown in all these cravings Slowly I packed my bag..I'm heading back I'm not going to be a slave anymore Buying, wanting, craving..that's not me Life as I knew it seems very simple yet complicated Now I live one day at a time...breathing, living No plans, no demands, I am the boss now

Field Trip

I've been up and about since the morning Prepping up and pretty much just rushing Running, flying towards the bus stop Oh shoot! I've no snack and extra top! Forget it, I had to go quickly Kids can't wait, they'll squash me Hurry, hurry so much to do Swimming, playing then there's still the zoo! Swim and play; we ran all day The zoo now feels soooo clichè "Yes and no and please don't my dear" Energy floating, from there to here Awesome day! the kiddoes admit The photos we took tell much of it Few minutes 'til home time, yes, it's done! Field trip's over, got to chill now everyone!
