Not only did Swim England force Anne Isabella Coombes to compete against men (after previously allowing her to compete against women), they tried to say she must swim in a “female” swimsuit. This would out herself as a (trans) woman competing against men and policing her feminine body while misgendering her as a man. She bravely pointed out their hypocrisy by choosing to swim in a men’s swimsuit, exposing her breasts in a silent protest of these transmisogynistic regulations.
“Deciding on whether exposing my breasts is in 'good moral taste' or whether I need to cover them up so that 'those involved in competitive swimming are appropriately safeguarded' is an entirely subjective decision of the referee," [Coombes] said. "In other words, I could turn up to the competition and run the risk of not being able to compete in whichever costume I intend to wear. No other swimmer has this concern. These regulations also mean that Swim England is treating me as a male by default."

AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.

Being the only bi cis guy amongst almost exclusively trans friends and peers is wild because in theory its like im living in a horny manga where all of a dudes friends turn into hot babes, but in reality they are hunting me like the last bison on the prairie. 5 years ago I mentioned bionicle and one of them asked when I was starting estrogen.

I.C.E. are the American Gestapo.
"The line of who is considered "legal" in this country is being moved very quickly, and you and people you love will be on the other side of it soon. If you are an ethical person, they are coming for you - and allowing more at-risk people to be disappeared is watching your allies be kidnapped and thinking it has nothing to do with you."
Fundraiser for the family:
"Last Thursday, our lives changed in a second. My husband was detained by immigration after coming to the aid of a family member who had been stopped for speeding by a Waldo police officer. Without having committed any crime, he was taken into custody, and from that moment on, our lives were up in the air. Our home is empty, and our hearts are broken.
What makes this situation even more painful and unfair is that we have ALWAYS done everything possible to be legally in this country. We have followed every rule, every change in immigration policies, every update in the procedures, because our only desire has been to do things the right way, to build a stable and secure future for our family. We have never wanted to live in the shadows or stay outside the law. We have worked hard, paid our taxes, and contributed to this society in the hopes of being accepted and living with dignity.
My husband is a hard-working, honest man dedicated to his family. He is the first to get up every morning and the last to go to bed, making sure we never lack for anything. He is always willing to help those who need it, and now he is the one who needs to be helped. His absence has been devastating for us, not only emotionally, but also financially. He is the breadwinner of our home, and without him, we face enormous uncertainty.
The hardest thing of all is trying to stay calm for my children. I'm doing everything I can to stay strong for them, but the truth is that this has broken me inside.
We have decided not to share too many personal details for the safety and well-being of our children. We hope you can understand and still support us in this difficult time.
The bail costs to bring him back home are overwhelming. We are doing everything we can to stay afloat, but this situation has left us without options. That is why I turn to you, with my heart in my hand, to ask for your support. We are trying to raise money to cover legal costs and secure his release.
Any contribution—no matter the amount—will bring us one step closer to having him back home. If you are unable to donate, please, I ask that your prayers mean more than you can imagine. We cannot face this alone.
This is not just a fight to reunite our family; It is a fight for justice. We did all the right things, we followed the rules, and yet we are living this nightmare. Please help us bring him back home. My family won't be complete until he returns.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening to our story, for your generosity, and for being with us in this very difficult and vulnerable time.”

Infant needs food, medicine, and shelter—please help
I'll be quick. I'm writing this on behalf of Ammar, the infant child of our friend Samah, who lives trapped in Gaza, suffering bombardment and starvation at the hands of the Israeli army. I and my friend @murderbot have been in touch with her over the course of the past few months as she desperately tries to save Ammar's life.
With a few generous donations and by draining most of our savings, we've managed to come up with the money to get him enough medicine to keep him alive so far, but we are out of resources and need your help. Without that help, Ammar is likely to die.
Ammar needs three things urgently:
US$635 for a small amount of milk and diapers—he has not eaten in two days;
US$1025 for one of his weekly medical injections to treat his heart—if not delivered on time, he will need even more expensive medicine to stay alive;
US$2429 to pay off the debt on the tent he is living in with his mother—without this, the tent will be repossessed and he will be left out in the open to die.
All of these are urgent. The food is necessary ASAP, and the injection must be delivered by Tuesday morning (USA time). The tent will be repossessed if we can't pay for it by the 2nd of August.
If you can spare anything at all for any of these, please use one of the links below to donate. Proof that the money goes to Samah is here: (link).

If you can spare anything, you have our gratitude. If not, please please share this.

Every time I read one of those age gap posts the age where you're still helpless and being taken advantage of gets higher and higher, like 26 years old is too young to interact with older people what the fuck? I have lots of friends who were/are well into doing a PhD at this point. My dad had me at 26 years old. You're a whole grown ass person participating in society, you can vote and join politics, you can work, you can live in your own.
This smolbeanification has to stop, it's frankly embarrassing.
