Pencak silat 2025
Pencak silat 2025 WVRAA MEET held at Pangpang National High School, and started last March 3, 2025. Many players attends from different schools in Western Visayas.
Pencak silat athletes went to the Pangpang National High School to express their hidden talents about this game. Pangpang National High School gave their warm welcome to those athletes, coaches, technical officials and guests.
During this Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet (WVRAA),the covered gym of PNHS was crowded and full of cheers from different schools.
Pencak silat game flowed quickly and smoothly because of the ever supportive teaching and non-teaching staffs of PNHS who was there during the event.

The Many Faces of Time: Exploring Temporal Phenomena
Time, a seemingly simple concept, reveals its complexity upon closer examination. Our everyday understanding of time, a linear progression from past to future, is challenged by scientific discoveries and philosophical inquiries. From the precise ticking of atomic clocks to the vast stretches of cosmological time, the nature of time remains a subject of ongoing fascination and debate.
The measurement of time has evolved dramatically throughout history. Early civilizations relied on celestial observations, using the sun's movement and lunar cycles to mark the passage of time. The development of mechanical clocks in the Middle Ages revolutionized timekeeping, leading to increasingly precise measurements. Today, atomic clocks, utilizing the incredibly stable oscillations of atoms, provide the most accurate timekeeping available, forming the basis for international time standards.
Einstein's theory of relativity profoundly altered our understanding of time. Special relativity demonstrates that time is relative to the observer's velocity. The faster an object moves, the slower time passes for that object relative to a stationary observer. This time dilation effect, though minuscule at everyday speeds, becomes significant at velocities approaching the speed of light, having been experimentally verified with atomic clocks on high-speed aircraft.
General relativity extends this concept by incorporating gravity. Time passes slower in stronger gravitational fields. This means that time passes slightly slower at sea level than on a mountaintop, a difference measurable with highly precise atomic clocks. GPS satellites, orbiting in weaker gravitational fields, must account for this effect to maintain their accuracy, demonstrating the practical implications of relativistic time dilation.
Beyond the physical aspects, the perception of time is profoundly subjective. Our experience of time is influenced by our emotional state, attention, and the context of our activities. Time can seem to fly by when we are engaged in enjoyable activities, while it can drag when we are bored or anxious. This subjective experience of time highlights the distinction between physical time and our personal perception of its passage.
The arrow of time, the seemingly unidirectional flow of time from past to future, remains a significant puzzle in physics. While many physical laws are time-reversible, the second law of thermodynamics, with its concept of increasing entropy, suggests a link between time's directionality and the universe's tendency towards disorder. This asymmetry between past and future remains a topic of ongoing research and debate.
The concept of time extends far beyond human experience, encompassing the vast timescale of the universe. Cosmology explores the universe's history, from the Big Bang to its potential future. The age of the universe, estimated at around 13.8 billion years, represents an incomprehensibly vast expanse of time, dwarfing human lifespans and highlighting the limitations of our temporal perspective.
The nature of time, from its precise measurement to its subjective experience and cosmological implications, remains a source of ongoing scientific and philosophical inquiry. Whether we consider the ticking of an atomic clock, the relativistic effects of gravity and velocity, or the vast expanse of cosmic time, the exploration of time continues to challenge our understanding of the universe and our place within it.

Wave;
The midday sun beat down on the bustling fishing village of Palu, nestled on the Indonesian coast of Sulawesi. The air hung heavy with the scent of salt and spices, the usual cacophony of daily life a comforting backdrop. Unbeknownst to the villagers, a silent menace lurked beneath the seemingly placid waters – a megathrust earthquake, poised to unleash its devastating power. These earthquakes, occurring along subduction zones where tectonic plates collide, are the primary cause of tsunamis, a fact well-documented by geologists.
At 6:02 PM local time, the earth violently shuddered. A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck just offshore, its epicenter a mere 78 kilometers from Palu. The ground buckled, buildings crumbled, and the very earth seemed to writhe in agony. The earthquake’s intensity, measured on the moment magnitude scale, was sufficient to trigger a devastating tsunami, a consequence of the sudden vertical displacement of the seafloor. This displacement, often exceeding several meters, generates a series of waves radiating outwards at incredible speeds.

Duterte and the ICC: A Reckoning for the Philippines?
The potential arrest of Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court (ICC) is not merely a legal matter; it's a seismic event poised to reshape the political landscape of the Philippines. While the ICC's investigation into alleged crimes against humanity committed during Duterte's "war on drugs" represents a crucial step toward international justice, the domestic ramifications are complex and potentially destabilizing.
The ICC's mandate is clear: to hold individuals accountable for the most serious crimes of international concern. The allegations against Duterte—widespread extrajudicial killings, the targeting of political opponents, and a culture of impunity—are grave. The sheer scale of the alleged killings during the "war on drugs," documented by numerous human rights organizations, underscores the severity of the situation. These reports detail instances of police officers summarily executing suspected drug users and dealers, often without due process, and the alleged encouragement of vigilante violence.
However, the Philippines' withdrawal from the Rome Statute, the treaty establishing the ICC, complicates matters. Duterte's supporters, who remain a significant portion of the population, view him as a strong leader who took decisive action against crime. They see the ICC's investigation as an attack on national sovereignty and a betrayal of a beloved figure. An arrest could spark widespread protests and potentially destabilize the country, exacerbating existing political divisions.
The current administration faces a delicate balancing act. A strong defense of Duterte could resonate with his loyal base but damage the country's international reputation. Conversely, cooperation with the ICC might alienate supporters but potentially pave the way for national reconciliation and a reckoning with the past. The political opposition, meanwhile, is likely to use the ICC's actions to further its agenda, potentially capitalizing on public sentiment to gain support.
Beyond the immediate political fallout, the ICC's involvement raises fundamental questions about the rule of law in the Philippines and its relationship with international justice mechanisms. The case will likely be protracted, involving complex legal battles and appeals. The outcome, regardless of whether Duterte is ultimately convicted, will have a lasting impact on the country's political trajectory and its commitment to human rights. It will also serve as a significant test of the ICC's authority and its ability to hold powerful leaders accountable, even in the face of resistance. The shadow of the ICC hangs heavy over the Philippines, forcing a difficult reckoning with its past and a crucial conversation about its future.

" A sunset to remember , a moment to cherish."
"As the day's final breath escapes, the sky is set aflame with hues of orange, pink, and yellow. The sunset's gentle warmth whispers goodbye, leaving behind a tranquil twilight that beckons us to pause, reflect, and let the peacefulness of the moment wash over us."
