This. Someone had to say it. First I want to thank this person for their courage. Even reblogging this feels like I'm about to detonate a bomb.

So, as an autistic person (diagnosed Asperger's Syndrome since I was a child), I hate people who declare themselves to be autistic or with other disorders that they do not have. It makes me feel invalidated, like the only reason they do it is as if it was a "badge of honor". A good example for this is people who say they have DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), and call those who don't "singlets".

So please, if you identify as "transautistic", just know that you are making real autistic people like me feel invalidated. And please, respectfully, if you can, stop identifying as such. It would really help me and other people diagnosed with Autism feel better.
