The first Part is Draco... uh enjoying himself remembering an encounter with Harry in a bathroom. And the second part is about Harry remembering while he is in bed with Ginny.

Hello!

I'm looking for a fic, but I'm not sure if it has two chapters or parts, either way, one chapter is from Draco's pov and the other from Harry's. I read it on Ao3.

Draco is in his room remembering the night he was out drinking and in the same pub Harry was celebrating his stag night. At one point Harry follows him to the loo and gives him bj without any words.

In Harry's part, he's already married and Ginny is sleeping beside him. He remembers that night with Draco and has to go to the bathroom and help himself.

It sounds like a lot of smut and sure it is, but what stayed with me was how sad Harry was. Maybe he was second guessing his choices a lot? Draco's chapter was also sad, they were both pining, but maybe Draco was a bit angry? I can't remember.

I know it's not much but I hope you can help me!

Luffy wasn't sure when he stopped being Harry and became Luffy again. It was a slow realization because then-Harry hadn't thought of himself as anything. He was just boy. Life was easier that way. Eventually, though, boy became Luffy. Sometimes Luffy wished he had remained boy.

Chapter 11

Luffy grinned widely as the hat fell over his eyes and waited.

"Hmm," said a small voice in his ear. "This is interesting…"

"Mystery hat!" Luffy said to himself.

"Yes, I suppose I am a mystery hat," the voice agreed. "And you are quite the mystery yourself Harry Potter, or should I say Monkey D. Luffy?"

Luffy jerked in surprise, how did the hat know?

"It's all here in your head," the hat said. "I can see everything, it's how I place you."

So cool! Luffy thought to the hat catching on that he need not speak aloud.

"Yes, it is quite 'cool' isn't it?" The hat agreed. "Now, where to put you? Plenty of courage, I see. There's talent, oh my goodness, yes—and such ambition, now that's interesting… So where shall I put you?"

I want to be with my friends, Luffy thought. I want to be with my crew.

"I see," said the hat. "Well, then better be GRYFFINDOR!"

The auror just shook his head and summoned the Knight Bus. “Wendell and Monica Wilkins will be returning home to Australia in a few days. They won’t remember ever taking care of Nerissa.”

Instead of saving Hermione from the troll Ron and Harry save a distraught Neville who had hidden in the bathroom to get away from bullies. Like the book said there are just something things you can't go through without becoming friends or in this case, brothers.

Chapter 2

"Ronald Weasley!" Mrs. Weasley's magically amplified voice rang out. "You best not be running around without your shirt on young man!"

Ace yelped and looked around wildly for the shirt he had peeled off in the Burrow before he had run off with his brothers. Luffy and Sabo laughed at their desperately searching brother knowing that Mrs. Weasley like had the thing in hand when she yelled.

Who wants to see my current draft of the prelim fight lineups for Everything and Nothing? BEWARE below the read more is POSSIBLE spoilers for Chapter Four of Everything and Nothing part of my Lucky Sevens ‘verse. 

Sasuke v. Rain Shinobi  - Since Sasuke and Sakura took out Kabuto in the last chapter another team made it through. I don’t know how I feel about this fight yet but it’s pretty good so far. 

Naruto v. Kiba - Kiba needs a reality check and Naruto is going to give it to him. 

Ino v. Gaara 

Shikamaru v. Rain Shinobi - The first time we will see Shikamaru fight since the curse mark happened and he lost control in the forest. 

Sakura v. Lee - The idea of this fight makes me really excited and I hope I keep it in the final draft. 

Choji v. Rain Kunoichi 

Neji v. Hinata 

Tenten v. Temari 

Kankuro v. Shino 

I do not promise that this is the final line up or that this is how it I will end up writing it in the fic. This is my current draft and it’s a lot of fun to think about. What do you think?

All About Writing Fight Scenes

“Do you have any advice on writing fight scenes? The type of scene I’m writing is mostly hand to hand combat between two experts. I’m definitely not an expert so when I try to write it, the scene ends up sounding repetitive and dull.”

Fore note: This post is coauthored by myself and one of my amazing critique partners, Barik S. Smith, who both writes fantastic fight scenes and teaches mixed martial arts, various artistic martial arts, and weapons classes.

I (Bryn) will tell you a secret: I trained MMA for seven years, and when I write authentic hand to hand fight scenes, they sound dull too. 

The problem with fight scenes in books is that trying to describe each punch and kick and movement (especially if it’s the only thing you’re describing) creates a fight that feels like it’s in slow motion.

Lowering her center of gravity, she held her right hand tight to her face and threw a jab towards his chin. He shifted his weight, ducking under her punch. His hair brushed against her fist, and he stepped forward, launching a shovel hook into her exposed side.

But your brain can only read so fast. In real life that series of events would take an instant, but I needed a full eight seconds to read and comprehend it, which gave it an inherent lethargic feel. 

So, we have two primary problems:

How do we describe this fight in a way the reader can understand and keep track of? 

How do we maintain a fast paced, interesting fight once we’ve broken down the fight far enough for readers to understand it? 

(We will get back to these, I promise.) But for now, let’s look at…

High Payoff Scenes.

If that scene you meant to be emotional, jaw-dropping and climactic isn’t working right, try taking a step back. 

All the usual aspects of a good scene also apply to the buildup toward a good scene. As well as including all these aspects into the scene itself, remember that at the point where your awe inspiring scene hits…

The reader should already feel deep, ‘positive’ emotions for the characters involved, whether that be love, intrigue, or an I love to hate them feeling.

The reader should already understand and have witnessed the characters struggling in some way with the goals they are working towards during that scene.

The reader should already have a clear picture of the character’s relationships and emotions, and understand which direction they are moving.

The reader should already be well-based in the plot and have a good understanding of every piece of information they need order to be fully immersed in the scene. 

The reader should already have a clear picture of the current stakes and playing field, so they can decide what outcome to root for. (Or in some cases, they can feel the same desperation the pov character has as they realize there are no good outcomes.)

Most importantly, remember that there are no perfect first drafts, and barely any half-decent second, third, or fourth drafts either. If you need to rewrite and rewrite a few times over, that’s okay. 

Just because the amazing scene in your head seems to fall short once it’s written, doesn’t mean all its amazingness isn’t still buried in there somewhere.

Painful Character Development

Have some painful character development ideas, because if I have to suffer, so do you.

What would your character what their last words to be, and who would they want to say them to?

If your characters’ loved ones were in danger but they only had time to save one of their lives, who would they choose?

Your character is given the choice to either die an excruciatingly painful death or have one of their loved ones die in a painless way. Do they save their loved one’s life or their own?

Your character has the opportunity to fix one of their most grievous mistakes, but doing so will ensure that they never meet at least one of their loved ones and they will not have any memory of their relationship with those loved ones. Do they take the chance to fix the mistake anyway?

What are your character’s deepest regrets?

Are there any events in your character’s life that they feel wholly negative about, no silver lining whatsoever?

Does your character have any unfulfilled dreams that can never come true?

How was your character first introduced to the concept of death? How did they react?

Does your character have any negative associations with otherwise neutral or positive things–i.e., not liking a certain television show because their parents always argued during the time that it came on and the character watched it as a (failed) attempt to distract themselves.
