Once a Spirit of Purpose, Nira entered the mortal world at Mythal’s request, promised a greater calling. Devoted to Mythal, she quickly became close to Solas and Felassan. Before the war with the Titans, she served as Mythal’s scout—gathering intelligence that helped Solas craft the lyrium dagger.

During the rebellion against the Evanuris, Nira became Commander of the scouting division, known for her stealth, deadly aim, fire magic, and tactical mind. But her pride cost her dearly: after challenging Elgar’nan in a reckless assault, her entire unit was killed and she was left blinded in one eye.

Rescued by Solas and Felassan, Nira spent six months recovering at Skyhold. When she was ready to return, Solas denied her—stripping her rank and assigning her to train new recruits. Frustrated and feeling purposeless after being removed from the field for three years, she grew distant from Solas and Felassan, her rebellious nature resurfacing.

In secret, she dispatched loyal scouts across Thedas to continue gathering intel for Solas and the Rebellion, defying Solas’s orders. When discovered, their confrontation ended with Solas bitterly reinstating her to the front lines, telling her he would not save her again.

She was killed soon after in an ambush by Elgar’nan’s forces. Long after her death, following the creation of the Veil and the fall of the Evanuris, Nira’s spirit would be reborn—as Rayne Lavellan, future leader of the Inquisition.
