I’m blown away by reviewers saying they are “blown away” by this book. And then there’s this: “Some of her lines, I read over and over again just like how I listen to Taylor Swift songs over and over again.” Okay. I’ll take that.

Readers are “digging” my time-traveling paranormal romance novel. Great for first-timers who are “romance-curious.” It’s got science, y’all, not just the lovey-dovey stuff. Men like it too. Check it out: https://amzn.to/3JCaYGH

Bit of a rant, actually.

Not gonna lie. I can’t wait for “The Gilded Age” to begin! I loved “Downton Abbey” but this is Old New York, equally irresistible, if not more so. As a fan of Henry James, Edith Wharton, and their entire generation of gilded era writers, I expect we’re in for a treat. And btw, Julian Fellowes’ novels are better than you might expect!

I’m just gonna say I like AJLT—it’s better than I expected—and disagree with reviewers who trash it with gusto. I suspect many of those reviewers are decades younger than Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte and have no idea what middle age feels like. Critics ridicule the trio for coping clumsily with issues around gender, race, and cancel culture. Well, guess what? They came of age long before these topics were prominently discussed and integrated into our national conversations. Yes, racial and gender injustice and intolerance have always been with us—but when these three were in their twenties, white people weren’t universally discussing these issues and didn’t even have the vocabulary we have today to address them. So are they struggling a bit to catch up? Yes—but they are catching up, just like the rest of us. Sure, the early episodes are uneven, perhaps trying too hard, but I think the show is getting better and I appreciate the balance of light and dark because, well, that’s life.

I love when the New York Times publishes musical “best of” lists. Dipping in and out of the classical music snippets takes me right outta here. Sublime. https://nyti.ms/3F6N6sz
