ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ𝜗ㅤ𝒶driana a𝓏urin was born on the 23rd of january, 2008, the second oldest of four children to eleanor azurin and jason azurin. her father is one of the greatest hockey players in all of nhl history, having played along side wayne gretzky ever since they were first drafted. her mother is a hollywood star, and together, the two made a powerful couple, and a beautiful family.

away from the eyes of the prying fans and flashing cameras, their four children grew up under a safe lock and key. their parents wanted a loving family life for their children, and so they got it. no one outside the azurin family and their close friends knew the names of their children, and many fans respected them and their choices, albeit a bit sad as to their idols were now not as active.

adriana and her elder brother, colton, born in 2006, were taught to skate before they could walk, taught to survive before they could speak. they're child prodigies on the ice with a bright future, as gretzky likes to say.

if there was one thing that stuck with adriana and colton from observing their parents' fame, it was that they should be known for their skills, not their history. their parents taught them that the world is a judging place with unfair equalities.

adriana knows this especially. at a young age, she was judged and put to the side when she tried to participate in hockey with her brother. colton, being used to it, knew there was no way to fight. and adriana wants to change that, to make a difference. and so, she will.

now, as of october of 2025, at 17 and 19, the two siblings were drafted to the nhl for the new jersey devils.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤshe was𝓃't born to be se𝑒n. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤshe w𝒶s born to be fea𝓇ed.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ𝜗ㅤ𝓉he arena was packed.

the press conference had ended an hour ago, but the buzz hadn't died down. reporters paced, fans whispered. two new players had signed with the new jersey devils. it's not uncommon for new player to be drafted, but it was so out of the ordinary — two weeks into the season, without fanfare or college records, without draft announcements or even names.

all anyone knew was #88 and #99.

the he moment the zamboni cleared the ice, every head turned toward the rink. the devils had delayed their warm-ups for the arrival. the lights dimmed slightly, cameras trained on the entrance like it was a stage.

and then, they came out.

their skates carved clean, crisp lines into the surface. after the team emerged, two figures in full black gear, helmets sealed with chrome-tinted visors, skated out behind them. no name on the back of their jersey, just crimson numbers stitched onto their backs: 88 and 99.

#99, the taller one, standing at around 6ft, skated with relaxed and casual ease with the confidence of someone who knew exactly what they were doing. he raised his stick to the curious crowd in a mock salute.

#88 skated with tighter turns and sharper lines, controlled and precise. their movements were fluid, but it was as if every motion had been thought out three times over before it happened. they were somewhat short compared to some of the team, and even with their skates they stood at around 5'8.

the fans exploded.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ"who the hell are these people?" ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ"the don't have no names or records! are these people even legit?" ㅤㅤㅤㅤ"i heard they're not even listed with agents!"

commentators tried not to look stunned. "well, folks, looks like we have to new faces — or should i say masks? are they ghosts or what?"

but most surprisng of all, the other devil's players looked more shocked than the fans.

"has anyone talked to them yet?" juraj slafkovsky leaned in close to jack hughes, eyes locked on the two new masked players gliding effortlessly accross the rink. his voice was thick with a slovak accent.

jack shrugged, a knot of ease forming in his stomach. "they just showed up this morning. management barely said a word."

"i heard they signed through a private channel, or something. performance only contract." quinn hughes tapes up his stick, though a bit distracted.

"do they even talk?" mack celebrini asked.

"they do. kinda," luke hughes replied, sliding in next to his brothers. "but they speak in short sentences. it's a bit weird. i skated by them, and number 88's voice has like.. a disortion."

"the way they're practicing," will smith raises an eyebrow at the two masked figures. "i can tell they got talent."

no one disagreed.

the game that night was.. interesting, to say the least. by the end of the first period, the two new players had already each scored a goal without any assists. #88 had a lightning-fast reaction and play, deking past two opposing players. #99 did a dribble around a defenseman and did a slapshot. both times, the arena exploded into cheers. and both times, the two new players barely even celebrated, like it was nothing.

and the hockey world exploded.

anonymous players, no past, no history. just raw skill. fans dubbed them the ghosts after the commentators words. the nhl had a mystery on their hands. and no one had a clue that behind those helmets were the children of jason and eleanor azurin.

ledgends in not only skill, but in blood.

— the only soul alive who knows the truth. her brother, her partner in crime, fire to her ice. he talks enough for both of them, distracts the press, plays the fool. but when it comes to protecting adriana, he’ll raise hell.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ𝜗ㅤ𝒶driana has always looked up to her elder brother, despite how annoying he could be, and how different they are. colton is outgoing, loud. adriana, on the other hand, keeps to herself and is quiet. in highschool, after the varsity team finished with their practices, colton would practice with adriana until the sun went down, until they couldn't score another shot, until their ankles throbbed from their skates. he's always been there for her. he's protective, he's loyal. he's adriana's role model, and adriana's best friend.

— they're not just teammates. they're family. when there's a fight, they protect. they're like adriana's older brothers. they're #88's best friends, even if the mask keeps them apart from knowing the truth, the real person behind the mask.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ𝜗ㅤ#88 and their teammates are like family. they stick together, they don't let eachother down, they don't leave anyone behind. the team has learnt to respect #88 with the mask, and even if they ever show their face, then the team will still love them just as much. they're loyal, trustworthy, and the best of friends.

ㅤㅤㅤ. . . the final reveal ,ㅤif it ever really does happen. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤit's soft and tragic, her shadow stepping into the light . . . ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤbut that's a story for another day ;)

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ𝜗ㅤ𝓉here's no other way to describe #88 other than hauntingly beautiful. it's the eerie kind of pretty, with pale skin as white as snow, her lips, cheeks and nose tinted the lightest shade of pink. it's the ghastly kind of pretty that stays inside of your mind like a ghost haunting a basement of an antique broken down house.

when she takes off the mask, the first thing you'd notice are her eyes. they are like a hawks, they see and observe every detail, every inch. they're a hue of beautiful blues, so deep they look almost violet in the light.

she has long, dark and wavy hair, stubbornly refusing to cut it despite it getting in the way during practices even with her usual high ponytail on. during games, she has it tied back into a bun and hidden under her balaclava.

with an rbf face, she looks like the meanest person ever. but when she laughs, her whole face lights up, her eyes shining and the corner of lips tipping up into the most captivating smile. she has a dimple on the right side of her face, and when she smiles too hard, it appears. her laugh is mezmerizing, with the sweetest tone.

when she isn't smiling, she seems cold, unapproachable and distant, but really, that's just her face. she's been like that since she was a baby, and if you look at her photos of her as a child, you can see that she's always had that pouty look.

when she talks, it's the complete opposite of her 'cold' demeanor. her voice is soothing, like a lullaby that puts you into a deep sleep. she's soft spoken, but she likes to listen and observe more than talking.

during interviews or press conferances, she likes to keep it casual with a hoodie and jeans or joggers. simple and comfortable. during events, she doesn't go all out, but just elegant and chic enough to impress.
