Hey guys! I’m gonna answer a few FAQ’S here about Myth!

But i’ll ask y’all to ask questions that don’t involve the story or plot here on our main blogs so we don’t clog up the blog with random questions!

1) “Will ____ Be in the story?”

- we’ll do our best to include as many characters from the original (that aren’t oc’s ) in it as possible. Many will have reprised roles but they’ll be there.

2) “Are [new character] in this?”

- I’ll be honest, Fly wants to include all your suggestions but i am the one who’s mostly enforcing the limitations on what characters we add or don’t add. If they have nothing to do with rubber-hose cartoon history then expect that they wont be characters. But if they are at least cartoon characters, then they’ll at least be in the background.

3) “Where is the discord link”

- Patience please! We are still working on it! i’ll update this post when it’s ready :] (it’s not up yet)

4) “Will any ships be canon?”

- We’ll see where the wind takes us. But as long as you aren’t shipping anything weird or illegal, then go for it! Hell ship your oc’s with them! We don’t mind.

5) “Can we make oc’s?”

- PLEASE!!! TAG US AND @myth-of-the-machine TOO WE WANNA SEE!

6) “Can we make fanart?”

- YESS!!!! TAG “#art of the machine” AND @myth-of-the-machine AND ME AND FLY IN IT WE WANNA SEE!!!!!!!

7) “Are you affiliated with bl*gthegreatr*gue”

- No. And we never will be.

8) “Can we do comic dubs?”

- YES!! With proper credit to us and links to where to find us, PLEASE DO!!!

9) “Will the comic be posted anywhere else?”

- We post important comics on our instas and tiktoks but the main story will be here on tumblr. It makes it way easier with the ask feature. Apologies to all insta/tiktok only ppl but you’re gonna get comics out of context LOL

10) “Is anyone else working on the comic with you guys?”

- Nope! Just me, fly, and a dream!

11) “Can we join the team or help out in any way?”

- You guys are real sweet! But unfortunately its just fly and I working on it. You guys are already helping out a lot by participating in this! That’s all we could ask for! Your support means the world!

12) “You didn’t answer my ask! Why?”

- Sorry! THERE ARE OVER A THOUSAND OF YOU! We can’t get to everyone! We’ll mostly reply to anything story relevant, questions for characters present, or anything that catches our eye!

13) “Where is shelly?”

(She has a cool story leading up to her! Please be patient, trust us it will be worth it!)

Prologue pt.2 : A Tale of Two Toons

Prologue pt.1

Thousands of years ago, Celestial beings made of an inky essence were born into this world through unknown means.  They built a strong empire out of the magic that brought them to life, and found veins of this substance deep in the earth.  They called it Ichor, or “god’s blood.”  They developed their society around the core and used it to create art and life.

However, there was a darkness brewing in the bowels of the islands, as the ichor was alive. The Blot emerged from the earth, creating entities who had souls darker than the night.

A great war was waged against this being, but with their newfound magic, the Celestial armies drew the darkness back, along with the rest of its spawn.

Unfortunately, a curse befell the lands of ink, and their bodies grew uncontrollable and volatile. 

They called it “The Blot’s Curse.”

In an act to save everyone that many still question to this day, the celestial wizard, Yen Sid, gave up his magic and created a machine to purify the ichor deep within the veins and concentrate it into helping those of Inkwell.

Thus the golden era of “Re-Animation” (creating life) began!

With the islands having new societies rise from the rubble, Toons created cities, towns and houses with ToonTown at its very core.

This period of peace did not last, however. Greed overtook the toons as the machine would provide anything they wanted. Many sought to have it all to themselves. This Greed turned to a lust for power that divided the toons. The instability caused by the crumbling society only reawakened The Blot’s Curse.

This ended the golden era of peace and panic swept the nation. Those affected by The Blot sought out Mickey, the mayor of ToonTown. Mickey, realizing he could not do this alone, started a new order within inkwell.

Toons were separated into factions, each led by “The Stars,” Elected leaders that would form parties to search for the fabled ink machine.

This plan would lead to devastation. Many toons were lost, and Inkwell was forever divided. What began as a search for a cure, turned into deadly competition which ultimately led the Stars to retreat to their own guilds, locking themselves away from the deadly disease that ravaged their home. 

What the Stars didn’t know was that the Ink Machine had been torn apart by the Celestials, with the main artifacts of the machine being divided among them. Finally, with no explanation, The Celestials disappeared.

With no cure for The Blot, Toons began to lose hope in their champions

Many have gone missing, and more succumbed to the blot.

The rest are left to deal with the pieces they left behind.

This is where our story begins.
