With the onset of summer comes more missions, more cleanup, more justice to enact and beauty to admire! As a Quanta muse, Argenti is capable of taking on the Quanta prompts on this mission board, but he will need the assistance of a Teyvat muse to do the Teyvat portion. The Tsurumi expedition sounds downright fascinating, despite what Argenti underwent in Empyrea. Perhaps it's different enough that he doesn't mind plumbing the mysteries of the strange island. He'll need a tour guide (or maybe someone who wants to use him as a test subject) in order to fully dig through Tsurumi's secrets! Teyvat! (claimed: n/a)

A story with multiple different endings? Sign him up! Argenti personally doesn't think the novel has anything to do with the Destruction... but he's going to need to get his hands on several copies and read them first to be certain. Does Yaruf deserve acceptance, to be treated like any other sapient being? Or should he be regarded with suspicion and mistrust? As one of the tourists caught up in the Empyrea debacle, Argenti, much as he is attempting to assist everyone else involved, also needs help; and even with his blessed armor, there's a high chance he's already contracted the pathogen abundant in the park. Argenti chuckles as several unforeseen catcakes tumble onto the oni, who gives a thumbs-up from underneath the pile. He gently sets his own charge down onto a nearby rolling cart and heads over to the mass of feline pastries. "Come on now, little ones, let's not suffocate Mr. Itto, hmm? This way, we've been looking all over the space station for you." The catcakes blink at him in response, some cocking their... heads? Are they effectively large heads with tails and paws, or is the cake-like part more akin to a turtle's shell? In any case, none of them move. The redhead frowns and taps his lip in thought. That catcake I found responded positively to the mention of Caelus... would these little ones react the same way? Given how stressed my dear grey-haired friend is over their disappearance, it's safe to say he cares for them very much, and, by extension, that the catcakes return the love. Hmm.

"Caelus is quite worried about you all, you know." Little heads perk up, and Argenti gives a sad sigh and clasps his hands over his heart for extra measure. "The poor man's been pulling his hair out trying to track you all down—"

"Mewwwwwww!" In the blink of an eye, the knight's surrounded by catcakes, all clamoring and clambering around him. He suspects that if he could understand them, he'd be hearing variations of "Caelus!" and "Is he okay?!" and "Wanna go back to Caelus!" They really are quite darling things, all things considered. He's a bit tempted to ask the silver Nameless if it would be okay to adopt one... then again, given the situations he finds himself in, that might not be the wisest idea. He'd rather not fret over whether his little companion is safe—though, perhaps Caelus himself could take care of it? Something to think about.

The child gasps as he's lifted onto the man's shoulders, shock transforming to delight as he gains height and can suddenly see over the crowd. This is so cool! He's never been so tall before, not even when Da used to put him on his shoulders. Little feet give light and gentle kicks as the boy gazes out at the city from his new vantage point, oohing and aahing at everything around him.

Eventually, Sir Midday's questions draw his attention back to the task at hand. What kind of home I want...? It... seems simple enough what should go into it, really. A sturdy and cozy shelter that keeps out the weather and keeps him safe and warm and dry; plenty of good food and clothes and maybe a couple toys; and a nice guardian who cares for him and whom he loves and trusts, so that he can grow up into a great man, maybe a hero like this guy! Oh, and maybe some nice friends too. He can't remember the last time he had friends, or played with any of the kids his age, and—well, it's war.

He hopes they're okay.

The redhead jerks his attention back to the blond. If they can't find his ocarina, then... he'll have to find someplace safe? "I-I... I understand." He really doesn't want to leave the instrument behind, but he might have no choice, just like he had no choice but to go underground in order to survive. Maybe, if he can't find it, he can get a new one someday when his situation has improved. That kinda sounds nice, maybe he can play for Sir Midday then.

The redhead listens as Lady Nahida expounds upon the great Sumeru rainforest and the various locales that comprise its subregions. Everything she has to say, he soaks in with attentiveness. Truly, Sumeru is as beautiful as its gardener, he just knows it! He simply must see everything else the country has to offer, from the smallest bug to the biggest tree and everything in between. He also finds himself curious about the desert area she briefly mentions in her history lesson; many deserts he's visited often hold some truly stunning views, and even if it still bears the scars of an ancient war... surely the land has found a way to heal those wounds...?

What she says at the end, however, catches his interest in a different way. "Oh? Who came before you, I wonder?" Whoever it was certainly left her with quite the foundation to work with, though it's interesting to hear that the Kalpalata lotuses were her first creation. The flowers glimmer in the sunlight with fresh dew, a veritable bepetaled treasure in the forest. He isn't one to take pictures of the beautiful sights he sees, preferring to hold those images within his heart, but the itch to pull out his phone and record the find before him comes on a bit strong. Still, he resists—after they've rescued the students, he can come back later and admire the lovely flowers.

The redhead chuckles at the lady's efforts. "It's all right, you got very close! My name is Argenti, like the scientific name for 'silver,' which is the color of my knightly armor." That's easy to remember... right? He hopes so... shaking his head, he smiles at his partner-in-tent-pitching. "It really is lovely to work with you, Lady Kallen!"

He disagrees with her sentiment about her homeland; he's the only one who can see for himself and judge whether he finds it interesting. Furthermore, a place's worth is, he believes, not in how interesting it is, but in the beauty and people it holds. He thinks all of this and more, but does not get the chance to express it before Kallen is asking him about his own home planet. "... My home?"

It's been so long since he left, since he put his master to rest and embarked on his pursuit of Beauty across the vast myriad lightyears of the cosmos. Surely it's become nigh unrecognizable by now, though he can only hope it's in a good way after all of his fighting on behalf of the innocent and downtrodden. But... shouldn't he have visited it after all? Even when nothing remains there for him? Would that truly have been in everyone's best interests? He wonders, he wonders, he wonders (but wondering doesn't get anyone anywhere, only action can do such a thing)...

"It... it was beautiful," he eventually answers, gaze trained on the finished tent instead of her face. "There were areas that saw frequent conflict, but in peace, with the commonfolk happy... it truly shone its brightest. There were traveling musicians who brought joy to the people and valiant knights who protected them. It was where I met my mentor and began my journey of knighthood... where I first trod upon the Path of Beauty." He tilts his head at her, a small, pained smile slipping onto his face. "I haven't returned to it in so long, but... perhaps you would like to see it with me? And maybe we can visit your planet too. I'm curious to know the kind of place that birthed such a kind woman as yourself."

Maybe to themselves, their homes are ordinary, nondescript, humble...

... but to each other, those same places might just be worth visiting in order to better understand the new friend that has been made.

It is disorienting, to be in the mysterious city one moment and the familiar forest the next. The occurrence leaves an unpleasant churning in his heart, a wondering whether he is perceiving reality correctly or if he has lost his grip on it. Around him stands the remainder of the group, and before he can process anything further, the dark-haired woman is gone. Little Leann is gone.

Why is this happening?

With all the strength he can muster, he pulls himself together, armors himself in his knightly code. The only way out is through, and he grips his lance (thankfully still with him) as he surveys the situation, ready to act. He recognizes the verdette man far up ahead and moves to join him as backup.

“Yes, certainly.” The knight moves to do as she asks, grabbing the remaining clips and taking the tarp in hand. Its slick fabric proves a bit of a challenge to pull onto the poles and keep it on, and Argenti finds himself having to temporarily clip certain areas so he can come back and readjust them once the rest of the tent’s been secured. What is it with using synthetics for clothing and weatherproofing in so many advanced civilizations? In his experience, natural fabrics have proven a lot less difficult to handle. Part and parcel of modernization, I suppose.

He hums as he thinks about her response to his account. “Overwhelming, hmm? Yes, I can see why that might be the case… this one section in particular, the Golden Hour, reminds me of the IPC what with all of the business and commerce going on in that area. For my part, I found the Moment of Scorchsand quite entertaining, though there’s nothing that compares to delving into the Primal Dreamscape itself. Though it’s far more wild and dangerous than the rest of the Sweet Dream, it has a unique and honest sort of beauty I haven't found anywhere else." He taps his lip in thought as he finishes wrangling the tarp. "Perhaps... ah, never mind.

"Personally, I'd be curious to visit your home, miss—ah, my apologies, I don't think I ever caught your name!" Well, that's one way to be remiss, he really should've memorized his fellow tourists' names by now. No time like the present to rectify the situation, he supposes.

While the knight watches the forest, a far-off bang! explodes, followed by… laughter? The voice sounds somewhat familiar, and a bit crazed at that. I think he’s one of ours—what happened that he would make such a sound? Is he the source of the noise? Wait! Did he come across one of those creatures?!

The creature heading for the camp has disappeared into the woods, so Argenti, after making one last sweep of the area, strides forward, intending to rendezvous with the group. Fortunately, he manages to reach the rearmost members before they can get too far away from him, and he purses his lips as he surveys the state of the group. We’re more spread out than I would like, we’ll make for easier targets that way… then again, speed is paramount at the moment. The sooner we can get through this place, the sooner we can find our missing lady.

… Idrila above, I hope she’s all right….

A commotion sounds nearby, catching the redhead’s attention. He glances backwards and finds, beyond the bounds of the group, one of the mysterious creatures that have been the subject of this entire expedition. It looks different in the light than it did in the dark, and the knight swallows as it lumbers in the direction of the group’s campsite… away from the group.

That was quite close! Perhaps, had I not been staying vigilant, I would have run into that thing… maybe I should ensure it’s gone before I continue. The others might appreciate someone keeping watch on our rear so that this doesn’t happen again. But then… why is it moving away from us? Does it have an objective, and so pursuing us either gets in the way of that objective, or else is more trouble than it’s worth?

… Is there something about the campsite that is drawing these creatures in?

Diligence and vigilance remain Argenti’s sword and shield as he traverses through the forest. So engrossed is he that when he eventually pauses beneath a tree and scans his surroundings, he finds the rest of the group nowhere to be seen. Eh?! Where did they go?! That’s not good, we shouldn’t be getting separated from one another in a time and place like this!

“Fair friends! Fair friends, I’m coming! I’m right behind!” he cries out as he races along the path, making note of any signs of the group. Soon, they appear up ahead, and he breathes a sigh of relief. Vigilance is absolutely necessary, but I nearly courted disaster with my fixation on my surroundings! I must strike a better balance from now on.

One of the two translucent members of the group calls out asking if anyone's spotted anything yet. Argenti sweeps his gaze through the nearby trees, but nothing in particular stands out. "I'm afraid not, everything looks the same."

Though he can't sense anything amiss, the redhead keeps his lance held at the ready and his eyes and ears sharp for even the slightest thing out of place in their surroundings. Hmmm... these guided tours are, I assume, held regularly on Empyrea, but how often do instances like these occur? I would expect that if they do happen, either they're not very often, or they've been covered up to keep the peace. Certainly any kin of those involved would have to be notified that something happened to those people, right? He halts, staring ahead at the rest of the group as the next thought strikes him. But... I don't have anyone to notify. The Knights may have units, but we still function as solitary members on our own missions.

A chill runs down his back. How many of us here have people to return to? How many of us... are more likely to disappear because we don't?

Does she have anyone waiting for her to come home?

It truly doesn't feel right to have one of their own go missing.

Argenti may not have known the lady very well, but from his brief time fixing the tents with her, he came to determine that she seemed rather nice, and that he would not be opposed to furthering a friendship with her. With her gone, the group feels... off. A bit lopsided. Like one of the colors in a painting has suddenly vanished. Too, the forest is no longer safe (but was it ever in the first place?) and the tour group is obliged to go on the move. I really hope we can find her... what sort of danger might she have encountered that would leave no trace of her behind? And... is the mysterious creature connected to this incident?

It's in times like these that he's grateful for his training and his habit of taking his lance wherever possible just in case. At the very least, he'll be able to assist in defending the group should something untoward happen. (Or rather, he hopes he'll be helpful to them with his particular skillset.)

The white-haired woman asks him about his previous destinations as they begin to assemble the frame of the tent. “What were they like? Hmmm… there are so many—almost too many to remember—but there are several that I have visited recently.” He smiles as he connects one pole to another. “Actually, one of them was another resort! Specifically, it’s a massive hotel the size of a planet that’s surrounded by residential rings, and it’s located in a system with a high concentration of memoria. The hotel itself has a wide variety of amenities and services, but the main draw, as I understand it, is the Synesthesia Dreamscape, where the guests can enter a shared dream that’s even larger than the reality version of the hotel! Truly, it was a dazzling experience, there were so many incredible sights and sensations that can only be found in dreams. If you ever get the chance to go to Penacony, I highly recommend it.”

That seems to be somewhat of a theme with a few of the latest major worlds he’s visited, artificial planet-structures born of goals and dreams of countless hopeful. Perhaps that’s part of why he can appreciate the beauty of the Reverie and the Luofu so much.

As the half-finished tent sways, the redhead frowns and reaches out to steady it. “We should probably get the coverings on first and then stake it down so it doesn’t move again.”

With the lady’s assistance, the poles are straightened out in mere minutes. Argenti smiles at their handiwork and follows her lead as he takes a few segments and begins connecting them together. As he works, he perks up at her question.

“What brought me here…? Why, of course, to witness the beauty of this world! I’ve never come here before, though I have been to other resort planets, and I thought I’d see what it’s like.” He chuckles as he finishes up the pole and selects more segments to assemble. “It might seem a bit simplistic of a reason, but in addition to that, I am happy to offer my assistance wherever it’s needed. And I do find myself very curious about this planet! It’s always important to travel and experience a wide variety of things, or so I think.”

“Oh, goodness! Let me see what I can do about these.” The redhead takes the pole segments from the pale-haired woman and examines them in his hands. They’re in rather sorry shape, all things considered, and to be honest, they feel a little too flimsy to hold up something like a tent. Argenti has half a mind to cut down some sturdy branches to replace them; at the very least, the branches would be less inclined to bend and break if they were the correct length and thickness. Still, he might as well try to see what he can do with these before he judges them a lost cause and moves on to plan B. Kneeling beside the woman, he sets the bundle of metal down in his lap and takes one crooked segment in both hands. The pole proves difficult to reset, and the knight clicks his tongue before adjusting his hands to hold it closer to the bend. After a couple tries, he succeeds in straightening it out with a quick, sharp movement and sets it in front of him, separate from the rest of the segments. “This type of metal is a little tricky to work with, but I think we’ll have these all good as new in no time, don’t you?”
