Mermay 2025 - Alyssa

I thought of getting in one more Mermay drawing before the month is out, and decided to give Alyssa a drawing for this one. I really should redo her reference at some point, as the current one she has is old and pretty crusty. Alyssa belongs to me, Sorachi.

Mermay 2025 - Ocarina Melody

I'm on a roll with Mermay stuff to have put out a third piece, this time of the mermaid from the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game Wonder Boy in Monster World. She sits behind a counter in-game so you won't be able to tell she is a mermaid, though she has official artwork in the Japanese manual that depicts her as one. At a certain point, Shion has the option to give her an ocarina (which was needed earlier in the game to get into the first dungeon and has no further use) to learn where to find an amulet to access Poseidon's Temple and have an audience with Poseidon to progress the game. I'd like to imagine that she wants the ocarina so she can play it by the ocean, sending melodies of enduring legends of Monster World across the seas. Mermaid and Wonder Boy © LAT

Mermay 2025 - Hat Kid & Bow Kid

Although I've owned A Hat in Time on Steam for years I didn't get around to playing it until recently, and I think it's a bit overrated. Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you - it's still a delightful and fun romp with great music, controls and overall charm, just that with things like the short basegame length and the camera fighting against me I don't think it's the modern standard for collectathons as people made it out to be and think Mario Odyssey did what it wanted to do better. Of course, despite my opinions on the game, Hat Kid and Bow Kid are both too adorable for me to not draw them, and given it's Mermay I thought I'd try making them both mermaids. Dazzi TF

Even though I still don't care about Palworld I wanted to try doing a TF sequence idea with Dazzi, seeing how much fun to have a character turn into the cloud-riding gremlin. Squiddy Shoes

Asha into Harpy TF

This is an idea I thought of doing after drawing the Harpy mid-boss from Monster World IV. In fact, I have wanted to try and do a TF of a character becoming another character entirely (much like the Ly TF), and toyed about with the idea of Asha becoming one of the NPCs or monsters of her game, and so went with having her transform into the Harpy. I thought of her becoming the oomukade boss, but that would have been too much work drawing centipede bodies. So yeah, Asha claimed one of the Harpy's feathers after defeating her, and has become the Harpy herself. She could now be thinking just like the Harpy, or she could still be herself but enjoying getting into character, depending on one's interpretation (I prefer the latter, because I think Asha would have a lot of fun by willingly being like the boss she just defeated, hmhmhm). Monster World IV Harpy

I've previously done art of the oomukade that appears as a boss in Monster World VI and its remake, Asha in Monster World, so I thought I'd take a shot at drawing the other monster girl boss in the game, the harpy that Asha fights halfway through Handera Volcano. Her remake design is used, and an alt is available where she is topless like she was in the original 1994 game. She had nothing on her breasts that would constitute a mature tag here or in the original design, so should be okay (at least not like the Syrens from Kid Icarus did). Harpy © LAT

Illumina

I've done quite a number of things with Lumina and Void already, from old crude drawings to Sonic kart racer sprites, so I thought I'd draw the goddess they are part of in Sonic Shuffle, that being Illumina. Cecaelia Ashley

My Halloween piece this year is none other than one of WarioWare's most popular characters getting the sea witch treatment. Given her personality and powers, a cecaelia would fit her more than being a regular mermaid. Also, I can't have Ashley being under the sea without Red being a fish. Ashley and Red © Nintendo
