Mermay 2025 - Hat Kid & Bow Kid

Although I've owned A Hat in Time on Steam for years I didn't get around to playing it until recently, and I think it's a bit overrated. Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you - it's still a delightful and fun romp with great music, controls and overall charm, just that with things like the short basegame length and the camera fighting against me I don't think it's the modern standard for collectathons as people made it out to be and think Mario Odyssey did what it wanted to do better. Of course, despite my opinions on the game, Hat Kid and Bow Kid are both too adorable for me to not draw them, and given it's Mermay I thought I'd try making them both mermaids. Man I'm just slingin questions at ya like rocks through your window BUT I do wanna ask if somehow (probably not this is maybe stupid to ask) timerifts either casual or story i don't care are still a thing in your sequel or is it not possible for those shards to make rifts of any kind

First of all, I love getting the questions. It actually forces me to think about the world I'm creating in accordance with the first game's story. Second of all, I do want to include them in some kind of way. They were some of my favorite parts gameplay wise of the first one, but how I'd add them to the story, I don't know. Maybe the shards could create rifts, or maybe just stray time pieces that landed on the planet. I'll have to think more about it.

i like to think they actually change how they look every rift event come, i mean it would get boring to wear the same things for so long, and it does look like Thespius can Wear other clothes after all, so Mitter didnt ALWAYS wear the black ensemble, honestly she was barely covered when she first ascended, only covered by a funerary cloth.
