would you say Wes is better written than Jay?

Girl, no. They're equally well written.* Wes is getting more screen time since he's the lead. I love that. I love everything we've seen and learned about him so far.

Jay was great too. This past week I've actually been going through my old gifsets to make them work with some new featured tags. It's reminded me how great Jay was and how many wonderful moments we had with him. Jay Halstead will always be one of my favourite characters.

In hindsight though, Jesse was right. It was time to leave Jay behind. There wasn't much left to explore with him after 9 seasons, and he was being sidelined way too often. Now with Wes, we're getting the kind of scenarios and screen time I wished for Jay each week and rarely got. Plus Wes is fun! Getting to know him is exciting, and I'm looking forward to new FBI episodes each week the way I used to look forward to CPD.

All that doesn't take away from Jay Halstead though. He was a great character who I still love. I just love Wes Mitchell too now. It's all good. We can love both. *Not including CPD Season 10. That was nonsense and doesn't count in my book.
