Cub nodded when Scar commented on the volume. "It is actually really loud." He agreed, laughing at Scars reaction, as if he didn't squeeze Scar as soon as soon as they got into the haunted house.
He gave scar a sideways glance when he gave the complaint. "Is that why you jumped so high, Scar? Jumping in fear since the cat can’t?” He offered a joking grin to Scar.
His gaze followed Scars hand as he pretend pet the cat. The lights flickered with more thunder sound effects following, less startling now that they'd expected it but still too loud.

Which is... fine! The last date- hangout- whatever.. didn't go that bad, and this upcoming one shouldn't be that bad either considering that he initiated it out of impulse and pure spite.
Scar still didn't know whether to scold himself for it even as he finds himself in front of Cub's dormitory door, willing himself to not look at concerned passerbys who watched him pace around like a nervous animal.
Miliseconds later, he eventually found his little bit of dignity left and decided to finally announce his presence, "Cubby Wubby Cub Cub!" He knocks four times, "Hope you've got energy to come with poor lil ol' me to the amusement park! Open up!"
Cub had been watching Scars shadow under the door for the lastt few minutes, holding back a smile the whole time. Yes he was nervous, but it calmed him to know scar was just as nervous.
After waiting a few seconds he opened the door- not to fast. He didn’t want it to seem like he was waiting by the door the whole time…which he was.
“You actually came.” was the first thing he said, lacking a better thing to say. “Well, of course you came. You said you would.”
“I was just cooking before this, so you get awake cub today.” he stated, grabbing his keys from their spot by the door before stepping out next to scar “I’m ready when you are.”

Cub snorted, half amused and half flustered. “Oh, never!” He grinned. he didn’t pull away from the linked arms, insstead leaning into scar. “The cat is forced to keep you, not me.”
As they were tugged forward into the dark, he glanced at Scar out of the corner of his eye. “You make that sound like a threat,” he said, voice low but not complaining. “A Goodtimes for life is a long commitment.”
The plushie squished awkwardly between them now, but Cub didn’t loosen his hold on it, or on Scar. “A goodtimes for life sounds worth it though.” he added, a faint grin betraying the warmth behind his words.

Cub gave a soft laugh “Wow, threatening me with my own threat?” He teased softly, glancing down at their linked arms as they stepped forward in line, his smile turning more fond.
“I wouldn’t ditch you, though.” he stated, adjusting the plushie so it wouldnt get squished between them. “Besides, you just made yourself the cats emotional support human. We have to keep you now.”
He paused, letting the noise of the crowd fade behind them before speaking again. “I don’t know about you, but Im having a good time,” he said quietly “so ditching you wouldnt be very fun for me.”

Cub scoffed, but the smile tugging at his mouth gave him away. “Bold of you to assume I’m the one who’s gonna be screaming,” he said, hugging the plushie to his chest. “But if I do, I expect you to hold me and not laugh, Or I’m telling the cat on you.” He joked.
He nudged scar, the contact lingering a second longer than usual before falling into step with him. He shifted the plushie to be underhis arms now, like it belonged there. Having it almost made the whole haunted house thing seem less daunting.
“Besides,” he added, eyes on the haunted house ahead, “if anyone’s projecting, it’s the guy already trying to act brave before we’re even inside.”

Cub blinked, startled by the sudden handoff, but took the plushie without protest, holding it close like it was more fragile than it looked.
“Next date.” he stated, ignoring the corrections Scar had made. “And I’ll hold you to it.” There was a short pause before he added with mock seriousness, “And for the record, I expect only the biggest plushie next time. Anything less is unacceptable.”
He glanced toward where scar pointed, then back at Scar with a teasing shine in his eyes. “Good thing I’ve got this little guy. Someone might need him more than me.”

Cub watched Scars performance with a look that hovered somewhere between fondness and exasperation, trying and failing not to smile.
He reached out and tapped the plushie on its nose before brushing Scars hand briefly. “Cute by association?” he asked giving the stuffed cat a few up and down looks “That tracks.”
He looked back at a scar and smiled “I think it’s gonna sit on my desk now. Then I can look at it when I’m doing work.” He paused for a second.“you’re a good throw, by the way. You did good.”
“thank you.” He finally said. “I guess I’m not dizzy anymore, so your compensation worked.” He spoke in a playful tone. “And I’ll probably get over not getting the biggest one, eventually.” He joked.”

Cub watched Scar throw the next ring and couldn’t help but smile when it landed, eyes lighting up just a little. He didn't say anything right away. Scar was already scrambling to ride the win, like even acknowledging the point too soon might jinx it.
He caught Scar’s quick glance and almost laughed at how fast he looked away. “There it is,” Cub eventually said, watching scar throw the next with amusement.“See? Told you the first one doesn’t count. You're on the board now.”
He didn’t comment on the colour or the points. It didn’t really matter. What mattered was how serious Scar was taking it and how he was actually trying. That alone earned more admiration than any stuffed cat could.

Cub watched as the ring clinked off the bottle while the kid beside them landed it with no trouble. He glanced at Scar, catching the flicker of embarrassment before it was tucked away.
The teasing line that had been on the tip of his tongue faded. “yknow, I’ve never actually won a bottle toss,” He commented. “Hand eye coordination has never been my strong suit.”
“First throw is the warm up anyways!” He nudged Scar’s elbow lightly. “You have a good throw though, I think it just bounced off.”

Cub was suprised by scars sudden change in plans, laughing as he was pulled along. “Taking it personally?” he teased, a playful grin on his face as they neared the booths.
He glanced at the prizes, examining them from where they were, as if he could see that far. “I like the cat..” he said quietly when scar mentioned it, Definetly not because cats reminded him of scar.
When they got to a booth, Cub stepped back to give Scar room, leaning against the booth. arms crossed with a neutral face but the slight tilt of his head gave away his curiosity.
There was something about the way Scar took the challenge, half serious and half playing that have him that quiet fondness

Cub let Scar take his hand again without a word, just a glance and the faintest smile tugging at his mouth. “You really are evil,” he muttered, not pulling away though. “And I’m dizzy because of you, not the ride.” He squinted, trying to decide if he meant that seriously or not.
As they stepped onto the platform and into the crowd, he gave Scar annother quick glance and pretended to be deep in thought. “I should make you win me something now, as conpensation. Maybe one of those big stuffed toys,” he joked “But round two sounds good for now.”

Cub was still catching his breath, grinning as they roolled along the coasters track. “Even.” he echoed, eyes flicking to Scar when he held him tighter. “Even sounds fine, for now.”
He didn’t move right away, holding onto scar for just a little longer before eventually letting go.“But just so you know,” he added, looking away from scar “It’s a natural response to fear. I’m innocent.”

Cub barely had time to register anything before the coaster dropped, and his first response was definitely to scream.
He didn't add the "I love you," to that scream, despite wanting to, but he did shout "Scar!" just once, half in panic, half in spite but It was almost drowned out by the wind and the other people screaming.
By the time they hit a slower part and his brain caught up with his body, he was grabbing onto scar. "You suck," he mumbled, no truth behind it as he grinned. "I'm never letting you live that down, by the way. Ever."

Cub gave Scar a deadpan look at first, but the slight colour rising to his cheeks betrayed him. ”You’re evil,” he stated, shaking his head. Though, he did take the chance to put his hand on Scars and look toward the front of the ride.
As the ride shifted forward and began its climb, Cub leaned back too, stiffening a little with the thought of the upcoming drop.
“I will scream,” he warned, voice flat but with an amused look. “I’ll scream your name, Really loud,Repeatedly.” He said half jokingly, pressing against scar slightly and looked back at scar. “Just for fun.”

Cub let out a quiet laugh "that's very reassuring."
He let himself be pulled to the back row by scar.
He settled into the seat beside Scar, glancing at the safety bar before looking back at him.
"You know, I was expecting the front," he admitted. "Didnt think you observed the terror, not that I'm complaining." He watched the ride attendants move down the line and leaned back and placed his hand close to Scar's on the safety bar. not touching, but close enough.
"Did you actually choose the back to watch people," he paused, quieter now. "Or did you choose the back so no one in front could hear you scream clearly?" He asked in a teasing tone.

Cub followed close behind, heart skipping at the casual but not so casual comment. He didn't say anything right away; Mostly because he wasn't sure his voice would come out steady.
It wasn't until they got to the front of the line that he spoke again. "How does someone skip the dizzy part?"He asked softly, looking up at scar as he waited for the worker to wave them forward.
when they were beckoned over, he let himself linger just half a step behind, like he was waiting to be pulled the rest of the way. "Front, middle or back row?” he asked, voice quieter , but with a hint of a smile at the corners of his mouth.

The line moved forward a bit, and he followed, but Scar leaning in and the offer threw off his rhythm just enough that he bumped into the person in front of them. He muttered a quick apology before turning back to Scar, flustered.
“So now you want me to get dizzy?” He jokingly interrogated with narrowed eyes. “I like the sound of that offer though, might need to take you up on it.”

He let himself be led, content for to keep pace with Scar and occasionally tugging scar before he bumped into people. He gave Scar a sideways glance, his expression softening. "At least promise me one thing though? if I do lose my appetite after the first ride, you won't say 'I told you so’? I think I'll be too dizzy to have a good response."
@ask-fa-scar
Despite his confidence in his poetic skills, Scar has no confidence in his dating skills.
Which is...
