Trees.

Always so many trees.

No matter where in the forest one turned, the trees would reach far above, they would creep behind and mislead and misguide you and you must not listen to the trees. The wind whispered secrets among their branches, trusted tales from eons past and they would twist the words like each twist in their branches, play with sentences along their knots and bark. They were always such mischievous fellows, the trees.

The Witching Hour is not a when, but a where.

And the trees in The Witching Hour would always guide you straight to her. Their dishonest path always meant that you would lose your hope, lose your way, lose your faith, and a deal with the demon herself didn’t seem so bad by the end of the journey.

“I’m going to need you to sit tight for just a moment. The more you cooperate, the easier this will be. I want to make it very clear–I won’t kill you. If you’re good, I’ll hardly even hurt you. Not unless you resist.”

Hey guys! I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of my readers here for showing so much support with my work, but I’ve recently been struggling with Grave’s Disease. I’ve been having panic attacks so bad that my job felt it necessary to put me on medical leave until I can get it treated. So far, the cost of treatment has been over $1700 for doctor’s visits and prescription medication, and I’ve just gotten a bill in the mail for an additional $350. As long as I’m being treated, I cannot work, and as long as I’m not working, I have no income to pay these bills.

Aofie's sisters became Risen, didn't they? How long do they stay like that before.... dying again?? What are they like? Is there any chance they can be helped?

Eclair: … Risen are dead bodies brought back to life with magic. They don’t really follow orders of Witches, because they’re so preoccupied with preventing their bodies from rotting any further. What they do is consume live flesh to prevent any more decay, and if they can’t eat they wither away and die again. Aoife and her sisters were out there for several weeks, so it’s possible they only suffered for a few days…

Aoibheann: … Yeah. They didn’t turn for a while.

Eclair: It’s against Universal Law to bring back someone from death, no matter the circumstances. Even if there was enough of their bodies left to bring them back to life again, we would be punished.

So Eclair, how are you feeling? What do you remember last?

Eclair: ... I remember being in the desert, looking for Aoife. I lost a couple hours, and then... I got hurt. I can’t remember much else. My head starts pounding when I try to think harder, I’m sorry I can’t remember more.

Aoibheann: Hmm, Eclair seems to be making a lot of noise in her sleep... Maybe she’s waking up...

Aoibheann: ...? Your crystal...? You had that taken out of you ages ago. Sometimes it still feels like it’s there, that’s what happens when part of you is amputated... I’d be the expert on that part.

What happens if a pokemon is corrupted by a witch? Is that something that can happen? Also where do witches get their powers from?

Voren: There are four main types of corruption;

Becoming a lesser Witch, becoming a Vampire, becoming a Dragon, and becoming a Risen.

Origin Witches get their power from the Origin Giratina, The Gilded Sovereign. They are the most powerful, because they  chose to become Witches of their own free will, and they made a contract directly with The Gilded Sovereign. They are directly beneath the source of power in their little pyramid.

A Witch can create another Witch, but the created one will not be as powerful as the original. A powerful Witch can also create an Alpha Vampire, who will become the leader of a coven of Vampires. Any Witch is able to form a contract and turn someone into a Dragon, and any Witch is able to find a dead body and turn it into a Risen.

Then, there are curses… Someone of a pure enough heart can resist becoming a monster, but they aren’t invulnerable. The Witch can lock their hearts up and cause great suffering… Their personality seems to flip, someone who was sweet and docile becomes abusive and abrasive, those who were cheery become depressed and full of despair… They also become violent at times, but with a combination of Aromatherapy and other techniques, we can lift most curses.

After some research, I’ve discovered that many other regions refer to this phenomenon as Shadow Pokemon, but… More research must be done. It hurts knowing that there are other regions suffering with this problem, but I’m sure I can come up with something to help.

So Eclaire wants to become a fairy type so she doesn't become corrupt but fairy types... Already can be corrupted. Maybe you shouldn't talk so loud. I think you might scare Eclaire if she knew being a fairy wouldn't save her.

Voren: I wasn’t always a Fairy, either. Don’t you remember a time when you never saw Fairies? All Gardevoir were just Psychic-types, Clefairy were Normal-types and such… You can suppress your typing, or change it, even.

I was corrupted, and I was wrong, but I wasn’t a Fairy just yet… Becoming a Fairy was the only thing I could think of to right the wrongs. If Eclair thinks becoming a Fairy will also help her, I support her fully.

Voren, were you ever a Witch?

Tayas: I will not tolerate such–… Such slander!

Voren: Tayas… It’s alright…

Tayas: Madama…! They are sullying your name! I won’t stand for these vagrants defaming you!

Voren: It’s alright because… They’re correct.

Tayas, I was once a Witch.

Tayas: Ma… Madama… I… never knew this…

Voren: It’s… Something I’m rather ashamed of myself… But it’s the truth.

Tayas: …!  Is what you’re saying the truth…? You… Worked with our sworn enemy…?

Voren: That’s correct. She and I were… The two of us… We were an item, she and I. She was my partner–my lover, for many hundreds of years…

I wasn’t aware of it at the time, but she used my ability to see into the future to her advantage. I would foresee any event she asked me about, and I became the most important part of her strategy to wipe out Fairies. I… Had no idea my powers were being used in such a way… I knew she held power, and people wanted to see her defeated, but… But at what cost…? She used me to commit  mass genocide. I was responsible for nearly wiping out my own kind… And I was none the wiser…

I started the Witcher Guild a few hundred years ago… As a way to repent for my actions. With the help of the Origin Hunters, I was able to create a technique to purify Witches. And I was the first.

So it sounds like dragon-type pokemon didn't start popping up until after the witches took out the faeries? I bet its an advantage for faeries to be super effective against dragons..

Voren: Not Dragon-type! Dragon-types are a little different from the Dragons we hunt. Um, maybe I made a little oversight when coming up with the name…

Tayas: Not all Dragon-types are Dragons, and not all Dragons are Dragon-types, but they are very likely to have some overlap.

Voren: Dragons are the subordinates of Witches, like a guard hound of sorts. A Cerberus for every Hades, you know? They make a contract with one-another– a deal where the Witch ensures something good will come of their relationship. They often offer a dowry to seal the deal. Witches will offer, say, immense power in exchange for the Dragon to protect them.

Tayas: Power isn’t the only promise. It depends on who they’re trying to coax into this, really. We’ve seen anything from being bribed by food to beauty and everything in between. All that’s necessary is a Witch who knows how to haggle for a bargain. On top of that, not all Witches know how to keep their end of the deal.

Voren: The Fairies who started their uprising about a thousand years ago taught us the techniques to rein in powerful beasts, like honing in on our connection to the moon and stars above us to heal and unleash massive amounts of energy! It is rumored that one of the ancient heroes could speak to the moon itself, and that’s how we learned that tapping into our hearts and our spiritual energy, we could defeat these ruthless beasts!

It simply became a side-effect that Fairies became dominant over your everyday Dragon-types, I suppose! More research needs to be done on this topic. Maybe another name should be given to them, too… Hm…

Voren: Oh, if you’re worried about being rude, don’t you worry! I’m aware it’s a little more than unsightly! That’s my bad eye. I was trying to scry the future during a battle, and the enemy I was up against tried to blind me. It… It worked. To an extent, I suppose. I can’t “see” with it like you would with your eyes, but I can see… I see the past, the future, and every memory I’ve ever devoured playing through it. They’re a bit of a jumbled mess, though...

Tayas: Only a vile creature would try to leave such a mark on Madama’s perfect face....

Voren: Who was it this time?

Lucius: Dragon Slayer Aoibheann. She woke up and seems to be adapting to her new life very well. With a few weeks of Arte therapy, I project she will be back to her former self in a matter of a few months.

Voren: That’s a relief... That means only Eclair is left. I hope she doesn’t get lost fighting her way back to our realm.
