A couple of weeks ago I went out with some friends I met in photography class to the botanical gardens here we have in town. This was the second time I’ve ever been there. The first time was with my cousin earlier this year in February. I don’t know what I was thinking going in the winter, it was oddly warm and thought maybe there was something to see...I was wrong. My cousin was like, “Why did we come here?”. There at the gardens was a Japanese style garden. It was probably my favorite because it reminded me so much of Japan. It’s really small but it seemed pretty legit. I don’t know exactly what the definition of a “Japanese garden” is but I got that nostalgic feeling when I was there. Lately I’ve been watching a lot of Japan travel vlogs on YouTube and growing this huge desire to go back to Japan. I hope I can sometime soon.

I’ve been craving Korean food real bad. So bad, that I went out and bought this stone bowl so I could make soon du boo jjigae 순두부 찌개. Soon du boo jjigae is a soft tofu stew cooked in either a fish or beef stock and boiled with either seafood or beef. I did a beef version and it was SO GOOD. I’m pretty amazing. Something I miss about Korea is how everything they serve hot is REALLY hot. When you order soups or stews they usually come in a earthen pot still boiling. You rarely see Koreans wait or blow in their food to cool down they just go for it. Take me back!

Panda drummer! So that day I hung out with my friend Erin, she took me to Fayetteville’s Funky Yard sale. I had no idea that this place existed. What I discovered was how freaking awesome this place is! It made me want to by a house so I could buy all the things there to put in my house. A really great place to take pictures and walk around to see the most random things.

Today I had the honors of spending my day with my good friend Erin, who I have known since junior high school! I wasn’t planning on it but she messaged me and asked if I was free. I’m trying this new thing where I go and hang out with people. It’s fun. We met up at Taste of Thai and talked about being adults and doing adult things. We might of gossiped a little bit but all in fun. I have lived in Fayetteville for most of my life but there were so many stores on the square that Erin took me to that I’ve never been. This is why I should hang out with people. It’s nice to see friends doing well and seeing them happy.

Fish tacos BISH! I couldn’t believe how easy these were to make. I just did what the recipe told me to do. Oh my gawd! I’m genius. So if you don’t know me or see me or converse with me. I’m on a bulking meal plan and this is just one of the meals I’ve been eating on the daily. I make a list of all the things I’m going to be eating for the week and calculate the calories, fat, carbs and protein. I’m trying to eat about 2500 calories. It’s not as easy or as fun as it may sound. I’m always full and uncomfortable. But that’s okay I’m at about 13% body fat and shooting for 14%. Once I hit that I’ll be cutting! I’m looking forward to not constantly stuffing my face. You know, just trying to be sexy for nobody or everybody.

Look! It’s a flower. I don’t even know what kind of flower it is. Tell me.
Yesterday for photo class we went out to the square to take pictures. It was a way for us to use what we’ve been learning out in the real world. Basically I sucked at it. I went through my pictures that I took and this was the only one I liked. I don’t even like it that much. But this is just the beginning. I’m sure that with time I’ll get better or at least I won’t get any worse...I hope. So enjoy this flower :p

Whole Foods opened up here in Fayetteville not too long ago. So my brother took me there, since he’d been there 3 days in a row, to show me around. I had no intentions to buy anything, I really just wanted look around and see what kind of things they had. Some how I ended up spending $30 on not a lot of stuff. This picture of dark chocolate with mango and coconut is one of the things I purchased. Delicious as they were I don’t think I can spend that much on chocolate on the regular.

Yesterday I prepared samgyupsal for my family. It was sooo freaking gewd! When I lived in Korea I would eat this at least once a week. Living here in Arkansas, there aren’t many places to get Korean style barbecue and I was craving it so bad so I went out and bought the grill pan and a portable gas stove. I also got all the side dishes; kimchi, garlic, mushrooms, sweet potatoes amongst other delicious goods. If you don’t know what samgyupsal is, it’s pork belly. The bacon part of pork, just not cured or salted. Yes, it’s fatty but that’s what makes it so good.

I took this for photography class. The assignment was to do something black on black. It looks like it could be in a textbook about Chinese history and the captions below would read “Royal teapot used by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty” No?
