so my parents got me an iPad, academic pressure is now leveled up.

This thing worth like five kidneys (idk how does a kidney worth anyway?) I can’t messed this college up. Fuzz, why can’t the world adjust to the old day studying where yellow paper is acceptable and cheaper. I’m not complaining for the gift tho, I’m grateful for them supporting my education. They are making a smoother path as much as they can for me to walk for. Can’t messed this up.

but now the problem is that I’m too aware of the pressure I can’t even focused to do my best. What if I end up stupid and awkward even when I did my very best. The profs will roast me and nobody will ever come near me or even put me on an option for a member role. Sh#t. I’m screwed.

I chose Ovid for he rewrote one of my favorite myth: The fall of Icarus.

In his poem quoted: 'drawn on by his eagerness in the open sky, he left his guide and soared upwards'

He didn't originally wrote the myth cause he is from Rome, his roman. Most of the myths in Rome came from Greece, so Greco-Roman myths. I just love that he rewrite the myth of Icarus and Daedalus, almost bringing it back to life.

WHY DO I LOVE THE MYTH? : ICARUS AND DAEDALUS

The myth of DAEDALUS and Icarus happened in the island of Crete. Where the father and son is bound in the highest tower paying for the crimes.

Icarus' father, Daedalus, constructed two pairs of wings made of feathers from the birds and wax from the candles. When time has come for their escape, Daedalus warned his son, Icarus: to not fly too low or close to the sea for the strong winds will surely dampen the wings, and they would not fly too close to the sun or the wax will melt. So the only way for them to fly safely is fly is the middle.

And at flight, Icarus felt like a god, and just like what Ovid wrote, drawn on by his eagerness, he left his guide and soared upwards.

Daedalus watch in horror as Icarus wings slowly withered, and as he fell, both men repaid for thier desire. Icarus his life, and Daedalus his regret. (edit: i think i got that statement from somewhere in youtube i cant find the source now tho, so disclaimer)

People see Icarus death as a tragedy. There are lots of meaning to it. When I read most of the poems or had heard of the stories, to me the myth tells

That there is consequences for defying the natural laws of men. Or consequences for following what they desire, out of ego or pride. There consequences for crossing the line between mortality and immortality.

i have to. Especially now cuz im graduating student, and im starting to detached from friends. I dont want to remember looking back at days when times are better and compare then to my worst days in the future (cuz bad days cant be avoided). I have this concept of remembering memories, that when i remember the happy past they appear at worst days not to cheer me up but to tell that, it could have stayed like this. And that's what i hated, to stay in the past, to hold unto it more cuz i have nothing in the prior. Its sad for me, so i choose not to remember and slowly detached from everything that i will soon left behind.

im sorry for those i hurt. but i need to be loyal to myself again, becuz i made a promise for me first.

I did a rewatch, cuz I've had watched it a long time ago when i don't understand the jokes it has about the real world. Now im laughing and thinking that this is my most favorite classic fairytale movies.

Its the best thing ive watched this year. I got a little crazy tho, i had only watch the series from youtube and im glad i didnt stop at the playlist, there is one episode i think its the real end of the story and not the series cuz it didnt fit right, also they rushed the ending, the creators of it probably r on a tight budget but still badly wants to share the story.

Also i have the tendency to search thru the web what else is there, ive found a long article about the characters, facts and background stories i didnt get from the series. You can just search it on google and see for it cuz i forgot to pin the links of the articles I've read. Start with Please Save my Earth Characters.

Although i believe what I've search is just the surface, i think its better to read the whole manga. But i didnt bother to search where to read it, i dont want to be tempted. And I've already move on. 😭
