do you experience sensory issues? yes, in a medium degree
would you recommend this binder? yes, for sure
I got the binder November of 2023
other notes:
I'm a 30 inch around the ribcage and ~33 around the bust and it gets me pretty flat. They're around $40 and the shipping is discreet and on time. I'm very happy with this brand but it's my first binder so I don't have a lot to compare it to.
I did a more in depth review post w/ pictures here

Hey, I want to buy a binder but I'm not sure which. I've been divided between Spectrum Outfitters and Shapeshifters. Do you got an opinion on any or both or just some insight? Thank you for reading this anyway.
I personally love shapeshifters, but I haven’t heard anything bad about spectrum specifically. If anyone has thoughts, feel free to leave a comment!

would you still recommend shapeshifters if I got a side zipper? I know they’re not always a great idea but i have a connective tissue disorder and a lot of issues surrounding my shoulders dislocating in particular and I’m worried abt getting on a traditional binder….
Unfortunately, I don’t have any personal experience with a side zipper binder so I’m not sure if I’m going to be of the most help. I would recommend asking the @shapeshiftersvt account!

what’s the best binder you can recommend to someone who needs loose compression due to nerve damage and also can only purchase through amazon?
Hey there! I would recommend this binder: it’s fairly loose compared to other binders that I’ve found, and wasn’t my favorite (because of that) However I’ve also heard people say that it does bind tightly, but in my personal experience it didn’t.

Wanted to send a suggested binder company. They are called Mansculpture. (Unfortunate binary language aside) I have used their binders for a decade, and while pricey, they last a long time, have a neoprene strip to prevent the fabric riding up, and bind decently well. I dont have spoons or time to make a full review right now however.
awesome, thank you!

saw your reblog, heres the ask :))
Im a genderfluid, afab minor who came out to my parents a few months ago and I need some help/advice
My parents have been super understanding and using my name and everything, I'm super proud
but my dysphoria has been hitting lately and I want to ask them for my first binder.
I need advice for good brands, arguments to prove this isn't going to give me cancer or something/j, and advice on use?
Hey! I’m super excited for you, hope this helps!
I really like my Shapeshifters binder, so that might be a good option (although they are pretty expensive ($85)) I’ve also heard good things about Underworks, but my binder from them honestly kind of sucked (I may have ordered the wrong size though, who knows). I’ve heard Flavnt and Urbody are also good, but I haven’t tried either. Just please do not buy Gc2b right now, their binder quality went downhill and it could be unsafe.
I would recommend playing around with how you get it on and off (it might take you a bit to get comfortable with it), and you should try not to wear it for more than 8 hours a day if you can help it.
Here’s are some articles about binder safety:

An article for your parents:

Other than that, a quick google search should get you anymore information you need. Please feel free to reach out with any more questions, and good luck!

hey! I’m the aforementioned ‘binder masterlist’, and if you want to send in an ask about this please do! I’d be more than happy to find some studies for you. However, I noticed in another reblog that they mentioned the GC2B brand, and I wanted to make sure you know not to use that. Their quality went down severely recently, and their binders are unsafe as of now. Please don’t buy one of those!
NOT CISGENDER AFABS PLS DONT SCROLL

Transgender FTM Breathable Cotton Elastic Band Colors Chest Binder Tank Top (M-6XL) (side note, I have no idea if that's the name, amazon just gave me these tags without anything else, I'll add a picture because I doubt anyone can picture something)
Brand: XUJI
Link: https://www.amazon.com/XUJI-Binder-Corset-Tomboy-Lesbian/dp/B07RQQZSSG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=20Q0KBW4DSV7Y&keywords=chest+binder+ftm&qid=1696528300&sprefix=%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-3
binding level: 2
comfort level: 3
sensory level: 3.5
breathability: 2
overall: 2
Do I have sensory issues: mostly yes, there's days where they're not too bad/noticable though
reccommend: not really. Idk if clasp binders are safe, and even if they are, it's just not worth it. I got better results wearing a (correct fitting) sports bra and a baggy shirt
date I got it: sometime around early august 2021
other notes:
regarding comfort, sensory level: it only scored that high because it felt and acted mostly like a sports bra.
On a good day it got me from a small b cup to maybe an a cup. Even in a baggy shirt you could see I had a chest, so it did nothing to help with dysphoria.
As stated above, it is a clasp binder. So if you have strong sensory issues you have to add the clasps as well. But it's easy to put on and take off, which is great for me as I have trouble with my joints and moving my arms on bad days.
And here's the picture so you know what to avoid when you're looking on amazon. For me it was the third result and had good reviews so i got it:
Tumblr media
(Have a nice day/night and I'm sorry for the name-paragraph ಠ◡ಠ )
thanks! Gonna second this, my friend had some really bad stuff happen with this exact binder (couldn’t breath, lung discomfort, super sore), definitely not recommending this!!

Little things adults and older people can do to help younger people and children feel included, safe, and respected as an equal individual:
Ask before touching the young person - even for hugs. Ask before you take pictures of them, and let them see photographs of them before they are printed or sent to others (even family).
Apologize when you are wrong
Ask for a young persons thoughts on a subject, then engage with them after they have spoken
Demonstrate behaviour you want to see from them (see: apologizing). Say "excuse me," say "thank you," say "please" to them
Validate their feelings, even if they don't know how to express them just yet
Remember that this is the first time they've been alive, and that you've had way longer to "figure it out"
These are some things I wish other adults remembered when engaging with young folks. We so often forget what childhood felt like and how unfair it all was because we were often awarded freedoms as adults that we never had as children. These kids are equal to adults, and they deserve the same courtesy, respect, kindness, and understanding we give to other adults.

Since yesterday we’ve gotten a couple more reviews (which is awesome)! However- I really REALLY do need anyone submitting a review to read the post that is pinned in my blog!!! It has a template on it for reviews- if you don’t submit your review in that format it will not be posted. It helps me keep the blog organized and helps people looking for a binder navigate it. Thanks for your understanding!

i got a binder from lolia olivia, and it. it worked ok, better than a sports bra, but it kept riding up and it didnt stay flat on my chest. it was super comfortable, though, and you could wear it for a while without anything hurting. i wear my old gc2b one more, just because it works better. if you have a small cup size the lolia olivia one should work just fine.
Hello! I’m going to post this since it’s the first one but on the pinned post, it has a template that I would really appreciate being filled out. Other than this, asks submitted not using that template WILL NOT BE POSTED. It helps people navigate the blog, and it helps me keep everything organized. Thanks for your understanding :D
(for people reading this- gc2b was mentioned in this post. Do not buy their binders, as the quality recently got very bad and they’re not safe. Dm me if you would like more information)

Finn's Chest Binding Masterpost
Hello! I decided to make a post with information and tips on chest binding. I am trans myself and there's a lot of things I wish I had known before I got my first binder. This is for anyone who binds or wants to bind, whether trans, non-binary, genderqueer, questioning, or even just cis. Enjoy!
Buying a binder
Okay, so first of all you're probably going to want to get one from a reputable and trusted brand. Some examples are: gc2b, Underworks, and Spectrum Outfitters. That $18 dollar one with 3 stars on Amazon ain't the best choice.
Binders usually cost around $30-$40, but it depends on the kind and brand you're buying. There's half binders, tank binders, and more. It all just depends on what you want. (Also, try to steer clear of binders with clasps and zippers. They can sometimes cause damage and don't usually bind evenly.)
Sizing! Each website should have a sizing chart and instructions. You'll need to use a soft measuring tape (or whatever they're called), don't just guess. If you're between sizes, always choose the larger one. Never go down a size.
Wearing a binder
Yay, so you've bought a binder. Here's all the tips and safety things you need to know!
While it does depend a bit on the kind and brand, it most likely won't completely flatten your chest. This was a big shock and disappointment for me when I got my first binder because no one told me this. Binders aren't really supposed to make your chest super flat and smooth, but rather resemble pecs.
Don't bind for more than 8 hours! It can cause damage in the long term if you do it consistently, and short term it can cause pain, irritation, and breathing problems. Also, if you've never binded before, it may take a while before you can work up to wearing it for 8 hours.
If you feel any discomfort or have trouble breathing while wearing your binder: Take. It. Off.
Don't exercise, swim, or sleep (even if it's a nap) in your binder!
I feel like I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff so I'll probably edit this later with more lol.
Binder alternatives
Maybe you're in an unsafe environment, or you can't afford one, or you just need something asap. Well, there are some ways you can achieve a flatter chest without a binder.
Sports bra method! Put one sports bra on normally, and then another one on backwards. It's not the best, but it's something.
Layering clothes helps a bunch too! Wearing a tank top, then a shirt, then a jacket or hoodie is usually what I do. In the summer, this may be difficult. Don't overheat, and remember to stay hydrated!
Never, I repeat, never use tape to try and flatten your chest. I knew someone who insisted that using duct tape was fine, but it's not. It can cause damage, and we don't want that.
Conclusion
I hoped this helped a bit! I'll probably be adding more in the future, and feel free to comment or reblog this with some things I didn't have on here. I'll try to add them when I can!
Take care, keep hydrated, and bind safely! <3

Chest binder recommendations
I’ve been researching chest binder recently, so I’m putting together all the information here so that hopefully I can help someone whose not sure what to do? I know putting the information simply can help make it seem less scary so here we go.
‼️I have not personally tried all of these, lots of the information I’m getting is from others who have reviews them‼️
Spectrum :
Price : £38 / $43.10 / €44,95
- Pros : affordable, actually works for big chests, worldwide and discrete packaging, swim safe, labelled as ‘vest’ during transactions, breathable, ethical
-Cons : very frequently out of stock
Gc2b :
Price : £30 / $35 / €35
Pros: affordable, breathable , swim safe, worldwide shipping
Cons: delivery is expensive, processing is up to 15 business days, many people have said that it stretches out over time
Recently gc2b binders have been causing injuries and have been made very cheaply - I do not recommend buying them
For them :
Price : £79 / $89 / €90
Pros : comfortable, ethical, good customer service, low neckline (not visible when wearing looser shirts)
Cons : expensive
Note: doesn’t use normal size labels, instead you put your measurements in and it gives sizes with names like amethyst or ethereal
XUJI :
Price : £27 / $27 / €27
Pros : On Amazon (quick delivery), very affordable, free shipping
Cons : On website delivery is up to 30 days, doesn’t care as much about the customer, said to stretch out easily
‼️ IF YOU BUY THIS ONE DO NOT GET ONE WITH ZIPPERS OR A SIDE CLASP ‼️ - these will DAMAGE your ribs and are unsafe, please make sure to buy the ‘pull on closer’ one!!!!
Paxsies :
Price : £53 / $60 / €50
Pros : comfortable, good for sports, low neckline, offers discounts
Cons : Not one I’ve heard of? Not as affordable
Flavnt :
Price : £45 / $50 / €50
Pros : range of skin tones, ethical, worldwide shipping
Cons: currently sold out, international shipping takes a long time
Those are the ones I’ve found! I apologise if I haven’t included the currently you use, but you can exchange them here
Feel free to add any that you recommend or any comments, since I haven’t tried any of these yet and so can’t really give a full review
