Hello!
From the Character asks,
1, 5, 10 e 14 for the twins, please? :3
hello arja :3 the twiiiins, of course I'll answer for them <33
character asks ~
1. What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?
Mori'na:
Mo simply came about when I decided to play Inquisition again after a long time and I decided I wanted to expand on her more outside of that playthrough (and get back into the fandom lol).
Bohean:
I wanted to expand on Mori'na's clan life and family. Originally she was going to be an only child but after joking about her having a sibling that she argued with all the time but "waxed poetic about" and people at Skyhold being confused by it, I decided to take that idea seriously and run with it. He's definitely different from my original concept for him, but I'm glad I stuck with the sibling dynamic because I love Bo and very few of my characters have siblings.
5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
Mori'na:
Again, I made her before I put much thought into her. I always get stuck on the name part of character creation but I knew some basics about her at the time. She was a hunter, Mythal's Vallaslin that looks like tree branches, I know Japanese. Mori = Forest in Japanese. The Kanji character for it looks like three trees = Way of the Three Trees. The 'na part is because I, 85% of the time, had to add an apostrophe with my elf characters haha I expanded on it more where it's more like a title given to the first born on their mother's side, so her mother also has the 'na at the end.
Bohean:
Bohean was easier because Mo was already pretty established when I started creating him so I had a better idea of the vibe I wanted (and that I wanted it to be a letter swapped Mo). I already had a bird motif for Mo at this point, so them being twins I wanted Bohean to follow that as well, but also have more of a Dalish name. I think when I found his name it meant something like "become a shooting bird", which I felt matched him pretty well.
10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?
Mori'na: Mo's has always been her loss of identity through being the Inquisitor and how that effects her in all aspects but also the personal mental struggle is a big factor. I always think of the Ship of Theseus with her. Is it still her after it all, or did the journey end up changing her too much where she's no longer recognizable, mostly to herself? I think it also plays well with Solas' story and his struggle with being Fen'harel, The Dread Wolf, and just being Solas. I would say she got as happy an ending as she could considering the circumstances. Let's say bittersweet. Live for all eternity with the love of her life, but leaving all she knew (including her family who she deeply cares for) behind.
Bohean:
I'm till trying to figure out his arc and role in the overall story haha His also deals with identity, but the identity crisis of living in another's shadow (in his mind; the people he thinks are casting the shadows don't see it like that of course). I'd say he gets the happier ending, he doesn't have to be stuck in the fade fixing the Blight xD
14. Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?
Mori'na:
I am the centre of an atrocity. -- Winter Trees; 'Three Women (A poem for Three Voices)' by Sylvia Plath
I am out with lanterns looking for myself. -- The Letters of Emily Dickinson
But she knew, without really knowing she did, that the gossamer threads we put out into the world turned into filaments, and filaments into tendrils, and that what people called destiny was really the outward contours of billions of these tendrils, as they exerted their tug on each of us. -- Swimming Back to Trout River by Linda Rui Feng
"Take root in the ground, live in harmony with the wind, plant your seeds in the winter, and rejoice with the birds in the coming of spring." No matter how many weapons you have, no matter how great your technology might be, the world cannot live without love. -- Laputa: Castle in the Sky dir. Hayao Miyazaki
Bohean:
Scepticism is as much the result of knowledge, as knowledge is of scepticism. -- Homer
I read about black bears sticky with honey and roses, their expanding faces unfurrowed by such living frivolities like fear or importance, I must tell you; every poem is about death when you are reading to the dying -- Ephemera by Sierra DeMulder
I think he's very lonely. Lonelier than he lets on. Maybe lonelier than he even realizes. -- The Royal Tenenbaums dir. Wes Anderson
The ears were chopped from young men if the pitch cap didn't kill them They are buried without scalp in the shattered bedrock of our home You may never know your fortune Until the distance has been shown between what is lost forever And what can still be known -- Butchered Tongue by Hozier

Character asks!
These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy
What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?
How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)
What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?
How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?
What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?
What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?
How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?
What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?
Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?
Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?
Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?
Have you ever made a moodboard for them?
Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?
Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?
Does the character have other characters connected to them? Do you have a family tree and "offscreen" connections made up for them or do they exist in a vacuum purely for the purpose of the story?
What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?
Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about

Can't get over the "Cullen is a stud and extremely suave" in modern AU's. Not that they are bad but that man is whole heartedly going to a coffee shop, reading the menu over and over to find what he wants, orders, gets told to "Enjoy your coffee" and respond with "you too", gets embarrassed and tries to correct himself, subsequently sitting in the corner groaning about how many times he done that.

solas is so fucking funny in concept. random man wanders out of the woods, claims your current problem is part of his special interest and starts helping out. you think it's a little weird, but he helps, so whatever. then years later it turns out he's a basically a disgraced nuclear scientist and you figure this out because he amputates your arm and starts an uprising

Thinking about the Inquisitor in the war room, listening in silence as the others strategize about how to bind Solas to the Veil. Unlike anyone else present, the Inquisitor is the one who truly understands what that means.
No matter the Inquisitor - regardless of approval level, or history - they always advocate for another way in that war room. That moment is hard-coded into the narrative and after reflecting, I think we can relate it to being about the lived experience the Inquisitor has with the Anchor.
They uniquely know what it feels like to be affected by the Veil.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spirit of Justinia (Here Lies the Abyss): “It is the needle that passes through the Veil, as little else can. You are the thread. And it is the key that locks or unlocks a door to the Fade… It is part of you now, and cannot be removed without your death.”
That spirit named the truth the Inquisitor carried for years. The Anchor stitched them into the Veil and shaped them in a way no one else in that war room can fully comprehend. They know what it feels like to be entangled with the Fade and the Veil, to be consumed by something so powerful and to lose agency because of it.
In Solas' binding he releases a sharp cry of pain. The Veil chains him by the wrists, the ankles, the neck - pulling him. The Inquisitor, with their own sharp cries of pain and torment can intuit the physical and metaphysical cost the parasitical effects of the Veil will have on Solas, because they have felt it themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if players mock the Inquisitor for suggesting Solas can be reasoned with - calling it weak, out of character, or “not my Inquisitor” - what may be overlooked is that this moment is grounded in lived experience. The Inquisitor has earned the right to speak, because of their direct contact with the Veil, the Fade, and the pain that came with it - and by the fact that, in the end, it was Solas who saved their life.
That survival creates a strange kind of intimacy between them. Solas doesn’t kill the Inquisitor, even knowing they could become his greatest threat (which goes against his usual pattern). Instead, he tells them the truth, making them a witness to his burden and his plans. What he later calls his “moment of weakness” (The Dread Wolf Take You) draws the Inquisitor into the heart of it all.
So even the most betrayed Inquisitor might understand on some level, based on their own experience, that Solas has weaknesses - and that he once chose to save their life. Perhaps that’s why, in that war room, they always speak up - at least once.
The endings do a good job of reflecting the different Inquisitors. For those who carry the pain and anger of the Anchor, the loss of their arm, and the loss of agency, forcibly binding Solas can feel like justice. Having him chained, crying out in pain, becomes a mirror of what they once endured.
But for the Inquisitor who believes he can still be saved - who chooses compassion over retribution - the ending shifts. They are there at the end, reaching out. And when Solas does see reason and chooses to bind himself, there are no Veil chains, no cries or struggle. The Veil only waits for him to step forward.
But there is one more ending worth looking through - where we see Inquisitor Lavellan make a different kind of decision.
It’s the choice of someone who carries an additional experience no one else in the room can claim: the experience of Solas through love.
Combine that love with the fact that she survived a fate not unlike the one they now intend to force onto him and we can see what may have influenced her decision. She knows what it means to be bound to something that nearly destroyed her.
For this Lavellan, she won’t let him face it alone. She’ll help carry the burden with him, as best she can.
Thanks to Cage for the screenshots!
