PROCESSING YOUR EMOTIONS WITHOUT SUPPRESSING THEM - TECHNIQUES

this post is all about how to process emotions that we are uncomfortable with, safely and positively. Today, I’d like it if you’d try to implement at least one technique today!
REMINDERS
Remember that when you feel an emotion, it is your body communicating itself to you. Listen to your emotion, and understand.
All emotions are temporary, and will pass. But some can leave a more long term effect on us.
Having the skill of sitting through uncomfortable emotions calmly, and not let it impact our lives greatly will serve you well.
TECHNIQUES
STOP TECHNIQUE
S- Stop what you’re doing, pause all activities and shut off your brain.
T- Take a few deep breathes, continue until your focus is only on breathing deeply.
O- Observe your thoughts, your body language, any physical sensations and acknowledge them within you.
P- Proceed with any activity that may help you process this emotion. Meditation, journaling, stretching, talking to someone, etc.
ALL TECHNIQUE
A- Acknowledge, accept and alllow what you feel. Identify what emotion you feel, if you can’t, try to associate it with something. Sit in this feeling for awhile and truly accept it within you.
L- Link it to a circumstance or situation that may explain why you’re feeling this way. E.g ‘I feel so irritated lately, it may be because I’ve been eating sugary foods more’
L- Learn what this emotion may be telling you. There’s not much detail on this because only you know what your body needs/wants.
SELF EXPRESSION
Draw, write, compose music on what this feeling looks like, sounds like, maybe even their taste. This really helps go deep in your emotions, analyse it and then hopefully process it.

And above all I am not loved or lusted over.
I’ve felt the pain of being just one- of being loved without the urge to be taken into a sweet embrace until you’ve been forged to one or the stale nausea that hits your stomach when a pair of eyes crawl over your skin without affection and hands rake over your body without softness.
But somehow to be without either is worse and it makes me wonder what it’d feel like to have both. To know you’ll sleep each night in the arms of someone peaceful and permanent rather than spreading on my mattress with only a pillow to disrupt my arms’ travels.
And yet I don’t wish to be fucked stupid or made love to, I wish to be cradled, skin to skin without an armor of linen in between us to get in my way.
It’s a feeling of missing something you never had, a craving for a sweet you can’t place, the discovery of a birthmark which was always there scarring an otherwise perfect canvas.
I dipped my toes into the water only to blink and find that I cannot find shore. It was sudden and yet so gradual; drifting out to sea without a wrist watch, allowing the cold waves to lick at my feet and losing track of time. My sanity.
I lie awake till sunrise each morning in hopes that someone will walk through that door.
“Sorry I’m late, dear”
And take me into their arms at last; our lips brushing against one another and their nose buried into my cheeks
Intimacy, I miss you.
When will you be home, dear?

I love that I get treated like a princess! People constantly offer to carry my bags for me. They even ask to carry ME. They never get bored of doing things for me. My smile alone is enough of a reward. People do whatever they can to talk to me, be around me, look at me. I only attract high value, chivalrous men. They treat me like the royalty that I am. I constantly get spoiled with gifts. People give me exactly what I want. Everyone is always catering to my needs. Friends, family members and other desired people are continously taking care of me. They truly treat me like a princess. And why wouldn't they? Nobody can resist a face as cute as mine. I get protected because of my dainty and feminine aura. Everything I do is just so princess-like. I exude femininity, elegance and confidence. People pamper me in all sorts of ways. They use my love language to please me. Everyone can't help but love me. I'm adorable, extremely kind and just overall perfect. I easily captivate the hearts of those around me. People truly admire me and they make it a point to show me. My SO treats me like a princess in a fairytale. I get carried, kissed on the hand, sent love letters. I have many friends. Everyone wishes to befriend me. I always get invited to the best parties and events. People love to be around me because of my amazing personality. I never have to get my hands dirty, there's always plenty of people willing to do it for me. They do whatever they can to make me feel good. OMG, I keep getting compliments. People stop whatever they were doing just to tell me how wonderful I am, even strangers. I just keep getting compared to princesses and angels! Everything about me can't help people but think of a princess. I am soft and delicate. People take care of my worries for me. I life the ideal princess life! People will go out of their way to please me. They'll do everything for me. I am a real life princess and get treated accordingly.

Daily self worth reminder I guess cuz it seems like too many people need to be reminded of this but…
🪷 it is not your job to take care of everybody.
People need to start focusing on holding themselves down and questioning “who is benefiting me as much as I am benefiting them? Who makes me happy?”
Too many people are too busy taking care of others to take care of themselves; helping them out when they struggling. Whether it be financially, emotionally, mentally, you’re right there bae. If they need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, a place to stay you helping them out time and time again and it be the same people that prove to you over and over that they just using you and ain’t even tryna return the favor.

It is not your job to… please them; it is not your job to attend to their every need and run to they beck and call; it is not your job to let go of your boundaries to make them comfortable; it is not your job to stick with them through all they bullshit and all they switching up and act as their doormat; it is not your job to place them on some bullshit pedestal; it is not your job to put yourself down so they can get their ego boost; it is not your job to act as a slave to selfishness, you don’t need to feed into their reliance for instant gratification.

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

Growing Into My Highest Self 💌 - Entry #1
Improving my mindset thru morning routine
Monday: Wake up no later than 6:20 AM & Drink water first thing when I wake up
Tuesday: Practice affirmations each in the mirror to start your day off right.
Note to Self: It doesn’t have to be incredibly inspirational or well spoken, as long as you leave feeling a little bit better about yourself and your day ahead <33
Wednesday: Avoid coffee, it always makes you jittery later and you have a test today :((
Note to Self: Get matcha, drink a tea, how abt some water? Not coffee.
Thursday: Give yourself time to pick your outfit of the day the night before and prepare a breakfast!! Why wait until the last second and make yourself late?
Friday: Listen to bad bitch beats (whatever that means to you)
Note to Self: “Bad Bitch Beats” can be something different everyday!! It doesn’t have to be the same genre, same artist… listen to whatever you feel in the moment. As long as it makes you feel confident, motivated, and like the Baddest bitch it don’t matter baby. It don’t matter.
