I know lots of people are off of work/school/etc; today, which makes it the perfect time to apply for a new rp! We’re currently APPLESS, meaning the questions part of the app is optional, and only a few apps away from setting an opening date! We’d love to see some more faces here at BOLDHQ.

do muses have to specifically work for the magazine? or could they just work for the company in general? like maybe a IT person, HR, receptionist, etc. ??

So my idea for this office is that because of its size it’s got its own IT and HR staff. The recruiters, HR, IT, receptionists, maintenence, and security guards would all essentially work as a permanent assignment to the teams. Unrealistic? Yes. Idea created because it’s much more convenient rp-wise? Also yes.

Hey pals! It has been a busy past couple of days at work irl, which reminds me that I am looking for a co-admin! I’d love someone who could help me with graphics and setting up promos, as well as work with me (and of course the rest of the group) on future plot drops and events.

We are currently an APPLESS rp that focuses on the lives of the employees of BOLD. magazine, the world’s premiere women’s lifestyle magazine. We’re only three apps from opening and we’d love to see faces like Jessica Marie Garcia, Alex Newell, and Manny Montana!

Please can you suggest some occupations for muses 40+?

Absolutely! We’d love to see some lead stylists, senior editors, the presidents and vice presidents of different departments such as beauty, branding, marketing, digital, and more. Also - people don’t only move on up in careers! Some folks like to bounce around, some folks don’t start working office jobs until their 30s, or some might be starting a new path -- such as someone who’s wanted to be a writer their whole life and now they have the means to pursue it.

Hey friends, feel free to answer on anon: if I were to make this rp appless, and then make the first task posted mandatory for all members (the two of however many questions I have as options in the app) would that be more appealing? I want folks to come in here with ideas because I’d love for the plot to incorporate everyone’s character’s goals and ambitions.

is there a hierarchy at BOLD. like entry/mid/senior writer, editor, designer, etc.? or is that only available with the point system?

There is! 

How the “hierarchy” works, with most departments for rp structure reasons, is as such in the editorial department:

writer (entry, junior - there is no titular distinction) senior writer senior editor/vertical leads (if you want to pursue a vertical you can, but many folks opt to stay in a “floating” type positions where they may be assigned different parts like Personal Essays editor in chief

for partnerships that’d be:

account managers (entry, junior - there is no titular destinction) senior account managers partnership managers (there may be one that’s essentially vp but isn’t “officially” vp) pres of partnerships

I hope that makes sense! For departments like fashion and beauty, there would be entry-level titles “styling assistant” “stylist” “lead stylist” as an example. 

You can apply as any iteration of the hierarchy within reason (please don’t apply with an early twenties for like a senior editor), but any promotions from here on would be points based. Basically, however your muse describes their job to people will suffice. Promotions will usually be discussed with muns as they “redeem” them anyway and titles will be created based off of the character’s trajectory.

It’s a “Career Jungle Gym” or whatever the hell Lean In calls it that a bunch of forward-thinking tech companies like to use.
