I can't articulate how utterly inhumane it is that we've not only normalized, but valorized, sleep deprivation. We treat it like an achievement.

Sleep deprivation increases your risk for a myriad of serious illnesses like heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

And that's just to name a few.

Some of the most important cellular work we do all day happens while we're sleeping. When we don't get enough quality sleep and rest, our cells literally can't effectively repair themselves.

It literally damages every system in our bodies.

Capitalism lies.

Getting enough sleep is actually one of the most meaningfully "productive" things we can do.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I don't usually mention that I'm an nb lesbian on donation posts but atm, it's relevant. I have to replace groceries as mice have eaten/contaminated much of my food, I have 2 doctors I need to see ASAP (eye insurance renews July 1st & my psych refuses to renew certain meds w/out an appointment), in addition to general med costs, this is very financially strenuous for me.

Med renewal w/ my psych is $210 & the eye dr is typically $235. I anticipate needing about $650 in financial assistance this month. I am extremely grateful & appreciative for all of the help I have received, thank you all so much! ❤️

our last post died in traction. the leader of this group of LGBT refugees, Muhshin Magala, has been sick with ulcers for weeks now. she needs surgery to remove them, and needs $5000 for it. all we've raised currently (and in the past) has gone towards food and medication, and paying off her current hospital stay.
