Sigma's ability is information exchange. Meaning he has to give info in return. Since I can't think of a way an ability could determine the quality of information to ensure the trade is fair, I like to think it only evaluates the quantity.

Because of this, he knows a load of random, useless trivia, and exchanges that. So he'll learn all your plans on how to fight the Decay of Angels, who works for you, where your hideouts are, and you gain encyclopedic knowledge about puffins or something.

Daily headcannons #26

Yosanos ability isn't completely perfect,she can heal wounds but there will still be a scar there (usually they turn out a metallic gold) and if you've lost a limb sure you can regain it but sometimes it'll feel numb or jitter or you won't be able to move it for a bit

(head)canon that kunikida is the only one who carries a gun with him. headcanon its because kyouka isn't interested in killing. yosano thinks her giant knives are better. kenji is far too young. atsushi isn't trained. fukuzawa strictly uses his katana. and finally. dazai, tanizaki, and rampo are banned from guns because they would shoot anyone who inconveniences/annoys them.

If Kyōka is Fukuzawa's granddaughter in the eyes of authority, then they must've automatically assumed Ranpo adopted her to make that happen, right? Imagine detective minoura congratulating Ranpo and being low-key proud/concerned for Kyōka's safety but figuring that Fukuzawa could do parenting for a 2nd gen too the next time he sees him.

Minoura: *clears throat after Ranpo had successfully solved a case* Send my regards to your daughter, I hope she's well. I'm very happy for you, and I'm glad that you decided to establish a family and give hope to a younger detective the same way it was done for you.

Atsushi: *forgot about the lie* what-?

Ranpo: *plays along partly to keep the lie about Kyōka's identity going and partly because he likes the fact that Minoura is genuinely proud of him and praising him.* But of course! She'll have to work hard to hope to reach my level, but no good parent would put such unrealistic expectations on their child!

Minoura: *Ranpo will be ranpo* I... guess. How did the doctor take it?

Dazai: *pops up from behind Atsushi* They get along great! What a great day and age to be an uncle in! Right, Atsushi?

I have to get this off my chest because the requisite number of SKK posts have crossed my dashboard and I can’t hold it anymore.

SO everyone is familiar with the HC that Chuuya basically admitted to drinking about Dazai leaving the Port Mafia, but allow me to provide more context.

We know that Chuuya states he opened an ‘89 bottle of Pétrus wine the night Dazai left. And Dazai wasn’t kidding when he says Pétrus is exorbitantly expensive. It is a collector’s item. So even a polite 750ml bottle costs something to the tune of five or six thousand dollars or more.

Not only that, but it has an alcohol content of 13.5%, as far as all wine goes it’s a bit higher (average being 12%) with most supermarket wines hovering around 6-8% for scale.

That said, we know two things about Chuuya; 1) the poor lad can’t hold his liquor for shit, and 2) he would not open this bottle like this unless he planned on finishing it.

We also know that Dazai confessed to planting a bomb under his car the night he left.

So allow me to set the scene: Dazai had defected from the Port Mafia, without telling his partner of 3 years. Distraught, Chuuya pops his most expensive bottle because what’s the fucking point, and absolutely trounces it. Finishing the bottle, he stumbles out of the building, beeps his car and it explodes, knocking him on his ass.

And from the ground, in the light of his flaming car he mutters “a’right, a’right… I won’t drink’n’drive…” before passing out in the street.

Prosecution rests.

So we all know by now that Dazai is comfortable enough around Chuuya to show nervousness/worry.

Enough times for Chuuya to pick up on that pattern. The pattern, may I remind you, that doesn't have evident correlation to either nervousness or worry to most people. One that can even be interpreted as misplaced given the situation.

Which means that Dazai has done this in front of Chuuya so often, that Chuuya at first was hella confused, before he finally made a connection between when and why it happens. And still remembered that connection after four years of separation. Which gets us to my point:

What if this isn't the only emotion Dazai displays weirdly?

What if he has multiple unconventional patterns he displays for sadness, frustration, content, or disgust? The times he really feels them, and they become too strong for him to just deal with normally? What if these are the only times he's actually being genuine with his emotions?

And Chuuya is the only one who is familiar with them all?

Dazai would be jumping rope and Chuuya would be like, "quit sulking, let's get icecream"

Dazai hanging upside down on the couch and Chuuya going, "It's okay, mackerel. You can cry."

Dazai actually crying, full on heart-wrenching sobs, and Chuuya unironically going, "What, good news?"

It's just... comforting, for one person in Dazai's life to read him like a book. Everyone else would look at him like he's crazy, displaying wrong emotions/behaviors at the wrong time, but Chuuya knows that it's just how he processes feeling properly, and thus he's the only one Dazai can count on to put things into context and understand, which makes him display them even more openly.

Because Chuuya never shamed him for his quirks, as much as Dazai never did his.

Less a headcanon and more a request for hc discussion:

What ice cream flavours would various bsd characters like? So far I figured Sigma would like cookie dough ice cream. I was also thinking stracciatella for Atsushi but I'm not sure about that. Dazai seems like he'd enjoy coffee flavour.

Besides that, idk. Thoughts?

Ive never tried stracciatella ice cream so idk what it tastes like but i think Atsushi would like really sweet flavors like chocolate

Dazai is a very difficult one for me, i agree he would like coffee, but i dont think it's his favorite... maybe rum rasin? I've never tried it, but according to my research, Dazai likes bittersweet alcohol and google says rum is bittersweet? so i guess that? idrk much about ice cream flavors (or Dazai...) ^^"

and for some of the other characters (i got too carried away)

Ranpo likes every ice cream flavor, but i think he likes cotton candy and cookies&cream the best

Fukuzawa, Kyoka, Naomi, and Gin like strawberry

Kenji has the mission to try every ice cream flavor ever made. His current favorite is mango

Kunikida doesn't like ice cream too much bc he feels it's too messy. He likes vanilla

Tanizaki likes mint chocolate chip

Yosano, Chuuya, Higuchi, and Oda probably like vanilla

Akutagawa, like Atsushi, also likes very sweet flavors

Tachihara and Hirotsu like blackberry

Elise likes rocky road with chocolate drizzle and sprinkles

i think Q likes peanut butter and pistachio
