no one in the hazbin hotel fandom is more annoying than the self-appointed asexuality police. ignoring the fact that plenty of real-life ace people are in romantic relationships and/or enjoy sex, the reason that most hh ships involve Alastor is because shipping is, like it or not, a defining activity in most fandoms, and Alastor is hazbin hotel's most iconic character. fans shipping alastor en masse is not a grand effort to undermine a canon asexual character or an attempt to shirk representation.

And most creators aren't ignoring Alastor's identity. That's, honestly, what frustrates me the most about this asinine debate. I don't know what fanworks this subsection of the hh fandom is perusing, but in 9/10 of the shipping fics I've read, Alastor's asexuality is acknowledged in some way or another. Oftentimes, asexual authors and artists themselves are projecting on Alastor's ace-ness, adding their own experiences to the diverse variety of headcanons and interpretations of his orientation--many of which are fascinating, if given the chance. There are incredible ship fics out there where Alastor is completely sex-repulsed and sex-negative but experiences romantic attraction, fics where Alastor is comfortable engaging in some sexual activities but not others, fics where Alastor experiences fleeting sexual attraction, fics where Alastor is aro/ace and in a QPR, fics where Alastor experiences zero sexual attraction but has sex regardless, etc. Do I have my own headcanon(s) about Alastor's preferences? Yes! Do I value proper characterization in fanworks and see some of these stories and interpretations closer to canon than others? Absolutely! But who says my interpretation is necessarily correct? Who says there is a "correct" interpretation, anyway? I'm begging some of y'all to step outside of dichotomous thinking, because it is MAKING some of you stupid and mean.

Finally, if you personally headcanon Alastor as aro/ace and completely disinterested in ALL relationships (and you're frustrated with the lack of works showcasing this particular identity), be the change you wish to see in the world and make something yourself! Try contributing to fandom through something other than petty, one-dimensional criticism.

A mini rant post doecifer week

Pretty much what the title says now that doecifer week is over though I'd love to see more works regardless. TLDR AT BOTTOM That said while not to many made it a drama I did see some extreme hypocrisy on x/twitter over the matter that bugged me even if it was a few. Apparently the embodiment of all sins including lust, pride and vanity making himself a doe to rp with a partner was seen as "OOC and making his character look weak" in some eyes. Also THIS is where some felt Alastor's sexuality was being ignored, made OOC, and fetishized. THIS but not the thousands of slutty cross dressing art birthed from him wearing a nun outfit for a song skit once and him being a hyper slutty sexual sub in public to weaker characters then himself in other art over the years even when his sexuality was confirmed. Does anyone remember what ring Alastor is in? Also a racist caricature somehow cause he's a canon black guy and being a doe was the same as him being a white women I guess? Not sure of the gymnastics for that one but they might of been drunk with that take. You could draw alastor dressed like britney spears pole dancing to holla back girl and barely anyone would bat an eye. While I agree asexuality is a spectrum and him being made a little into sex isn't crazy, if being true to his character he'd need a lot of coaxing, assuring, and compromising regardless the gender of his partner to do something beyond vanilla stuff if that. He is strong but even with someone close he'd be cautious in looking vulnerable especially in hell. Meanwhile on a different planet of the matter, Lucifer is eons old and stronger then everyone down there. The amount of fucks he likely gives to how people think of him with some exceptions are about as big as Nifty's pinky toe. His biggest pride is his power making it so he can afford to be as unserious as possible. You'd have to be dummier then Valentino's used socks to try him and even then as we saw in the Adam fight he'll just mess around with you until you cross a line. So long as you promise to keep it behind closed doors and stop when he's uncomfortable he's down for it, topping, bottoming, both since he does have cloning magic, etc. TLDR- My point is if you think the reserved and always guarded asexual from the 1920s being made hyper sexual and submissive cause he's hot in almost every other work isn't an issue but hell's strongest circus loving pansexual doing something cute in a kink for his SO is strange and character eraser I'm not sure either of us own the right dictionaries or watch the same series.

Hazbin pride drop once more!

Happy pride month, Veteran month, and male mental awareness month. Mostly talking about the Hazbin merch drop for pride where once again they cooked some great looking outfits for everyone. Also once again people who retwt that can't physically comprehend that merch of a bad fictional person doesn't equally supporting the things that bad person does. If that was the case then none of the characters besides Charlie would be right to buy. Can't be helped though so just stay safe out there.

Charlastor AU vague concepts

I have no real plans to write anything charlastor related right now but something I do know are some things I'd like to see more in both fics and art for it.

Human alastor/demon charlie

Demon or Human alasor/Bamf charlie

This is a little pet peeve of mine. I get why they do it but I really do want more assertive charlie in fics even if she's a human and Al is a creature or killer human. That line "Dad said don't take shit from other demons" could follow for human charlie to. While she isn't great at it we know it's canon she can fight.

As princess of hell and while not eager to do so she could put most in their place if need be. I think it's OOC for Al to attack her or force himself on her but if he either on sudden high emotions or high drugs attempted either, charlie wouldn't just lay there cowering. I can count on 1 hand how many fics actually remember this.

Likewise as a human just like demon lucifer worries about charlie being safe and being able push back on her own against creepy sinners the same would apply in the human verse. He would give her various combat classes and training how to uses tools if that failed or she was stuck in some situation that needed a fallback. Knives, guns, stun-guns, etc. His baby would not be an easy prey for just any man or monster.

The uniqueness of this hatedom

I don't know how she did it but vivziepop truly created something special with Hazbin and the type of hatedom it's attracted.

While it's not the first franchise where people took the fictional villain so seriously they attacked the real human behind the character it is the first where said villain getting merch got virtue signalers coming out the wood work like this.

Meanwhile HxH, Berserker, Joker, Baki series, and various other series with villains who do what Val did and worse I doubt have ever received the same energy at the merch.

"Well I like how X character is written more so their violent,manipulative, and sexual crimes can be hand waved" is not the defense they think it is. Bonus with this franchise being set in hell with characters who have likely done what val does and then some but they get no attention.

Charlie's plan and the over simple criticism I see on it a few times. TLDR AT BOTTOM

Okay this like the title say this is something I've only genuinely seen brought up like maybe 3 times but all the same its a bit annoying. I want to say outright first as much as I love and believe in charlie's plan there is obviously some flaws that need to worked out hopefully in her future character arc as the franchise goes on. That said thought one thing I see a few people think is a strong clapback is either adam or whoever telling her "So you want r*pist and murders to come up here to run rampant?! How don't you know how bad sinners can be??" While being careful who goes the hotel is definitely good cause some may want to cause more harm then good to the plan, this isn't slam down take some may think its cause it dismisses a lot of factors. 1.There are more then just murders and m*lestors in hell and on top of that there are MANY reasons people go. You've got suicide, you've got the paranoid and unmotivated who either didn't help when they could of or just didn't really do much major or minor for themselves and others in life. People who mooched off others and either knowingly or unknowingly caused unhealthy stress to those around them. etc. ( spoiler maybe?: Now I don't know if this tidbit I only heard in passing is true or not and it was a comment on an anti-ranty tumblr post so how legit it is I don't know but apparently Sir pentious was in one of those categories.) 2.This should actually be number 1 but we are here already, Charlie is over 200yrs old and BIG SPOILER but she actually lives in hell. This and fire being hot seems like news for some. I say that because of course she fucking knows people are terrible and some don't want to be redeemed. That's why she mentioned in the pilot she didn't want to force people into the hotel, they had to walk into the hotel by choice. When she first met Al she slammed the door in his face for a reason. I have a rant on this here for a different post subject so I'll move on. 3.Somebody above both Lucifer and Sera is clearly judging and deciding who truly means in their heart and done their part in the want to be good and repent of their sins. Whether that's god or some other entity we don't know yet but what we do know is sir pentious didn't sacrifice himself because a self serving and sinful reason. If someone just pretending to be at the hotel for pure reasons while still doing and being horrible then suddenly died they likely would not go to heaven. 4.All in all while its true it'll take more then fall exercises and sing-a-longs to redeem those who want it its not impossible. Charlie needs to understand how and why people are the way they are to help them in more then simple means. Its equally overly simple to dismiss her mission because of those unredeemable who would never truly attempt the hotel in the first place and pointlessly perma killed to not ascend.

I agree and hate the people who claimed this moment and episode "villainized via". Its literally everything the people screaming the show "baby-ify stolas" and claiming to want Octavia to have more spotlight for character development have been moaning about wanting. Vilifying to me would be if she helped defend andy not push him back or have her be the one blocking his number with every call instead of her mom. Though even in that latter case it could be read as her being unready to hear him rather then unwilling. No one is honestly mad at Via at all for showing her sincere feelings and that includes stolas himself who acknowledges these were his choices that led to this.

Did what Via told Stolas really hurt him. Obviously. But from her point of view, I think it needed to be said, you know? Like obviously she doesn't know everything about what went on regarding the decision or what things are really like between Stolas and Stella, but she said what she needed to say even though it brought Stolas to a worse place for now. And I do agree with Blitz that eventually she'll come around and I can't wait for us to get there, but...things are where they need to be for now I guess.

Hazbin leaker arrested reaction

Found this post recently about the hazbin leaker https://x.com/EMositeCC/status/1855001858559119869 Glad they got caught and while its good there weren't many it was surreal seeing the rt comments that acted like it wasn't a big deal and that it was weird in some Anti's eyes that people were happy about this person who committed a crime being put in jail. This didn't just affect vivzie alone, imagine working hard animating for a series for months only for someone to spoil the work and you possibly having to scrap it and doing it over. Different people had their financial bank info taken too. You can have whatever feelings you want about vivzie whether they are legit or you saw a screenshot of her head edited on Thanos doing something and believe it. Either way handwaving away a crime because it specifically happened to a series or specific person working in it you dislike is really messed up.
