Banking with a Boomer

Helped an elderly (white) male relative with some bank-related tasks today and either service at banks really was better in the "good old days" or Boomers have selective memories. Probably both.

But I got an ear-full of a tirade that was something like this: "On Fridays I used to leave my job at the Work Factory and walk half a block to First Klansman Savings and Loan and immediately my usual teller, Deloris, would greet me, hand me a cup of coffee and cigar, and begin sucking my cock. While she was fellating me, the bank president would personally put my paycheck into a savings account earning 40% interest while I took out a $3000 loan to buy a 5 bedroom house with only a handshake as collateral. And when I left I got a full set of new kitchen appliances as a thank-you gift. So why do I now have to pay $26.82 for a box of 500 checks?"

I think that was what he said, more or less. I was disassociating at the time and trying not to be brown enough to trigger the alarms.

I've really been enjoying Strigeal, he's a great character, so here he is enjoying a snack as he browses the library.

In this chapter, Remy leads the Vallegente into battle. He knows that Giuliana's people are her most prized possession and does not want to spend their lives needlessly. But in war, not everyone gets to return home.

To go along with the dashboard redesign, tumblr should change the 't' to a simpler design that looks more like a '+' and then rotate the + about 45 degrees clockwise.

I think that would be really stylish. oops, the t came loose!
