“She turned away. Behind them lay pain and death and fear; ahead of them lay doubt, and danger, and fathomless mysteries. But they weren’t alone. So Lyra and her daemon turned away from the world they were born in, and looked toward the sun, and walked into the sky."

i think i have to take a break from tumblr. i stare too much at screens all day. i need to be doing other stuff, like yoga, or reading, or actually interacting with people.
i just feel like being on here is making me a really negative person, especially since the election.
need to purge the negativity and enjoy my youth and beauty while i have them.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH okay wait
so the government SHOULD be in our vaginas?
THEN WHY SHOULDN'T THEY PAY FOR OUR HEALTH CARE?!
also i thought conservatives were supposed to like small government. this is the opposite of that.
if you don’t want the government in your vagina, don’t put a penis in it.
simple solution

Quote
In 2004, a year in which Wal-Mart reported $9.1 billion in profits, the retailer’s California employees collected $86 million in public assistance, according to researchers at the University of California-Berkeley. Other studies have revealed widespread use of publicly funded health care by Wal-Mart employees in numerous states. In 2004, Democratic staffers of the House education and workforce committee calculated that each 200-employee Wal-Mart store costs taxpayers an average of more than $400,000 a year, based on entitlements ranging from energy-assistance grants to Medicaid to food stamps to WIC—the federal program that provides food to low-income women with children.
Sasha Abramsky, America on $195 a Week
This is from a few years ago, but the information is relevant given the upcoming Black Friday strike planned by Walmart workers (and which Walmart is asking a judge to block).
It’s no wonder so many Walmart employees are on public assistance. On average, they make around $8.80 an hour, which is below a living wage. The Walton heirs, on the other hand, are worth $89.5 billion, or as much as the bottom 41.5 percent of Americans combined.

Wal-mart keeps prices low by relying on social welfare programs funded by your tax dollars.
