Now that it's Ran's birthday (in Japan) that means it's also now officially 3 years since Wakui dropped this on us and broke the fandom.
Tumblr media
It actually matched the twin's birthday art but as anyone who was here probably remembers that's not the reason we were freaking out 👀

This feels like the kind of thing Ran buys Rindou for his birthday after Rindou specifically asks for new weights. (Ran got the normal weights as well he just wanted to see Rindou's reaction to this first)

just curious as to why you like hanma so much?
I had to give my best friend reasons first before finally replying to this!!
Where do I even start man, I think it’s deeply rooted in the fact that him and I are opposite. While I grew up in a strict household with the anxiety of a deer getting chased in the forest, he looks like he wouldnt give a damn about the fact that I forgot to take the chicken out of the fridge.
He also has this carefree way of living, he knows how to take and make jokes, he is so honest and you know he would never lie to you if you mean something to him. He’s playful and so fucking funny when he wants to be, and just overall a breath of fresh air to be around.
And yeah while he might not the most popular/well-liked character in the fandom, he has a really special place in my heart 😭

Wholesome Haitani brothers headcanons?
Like about their bond together??? Here are some focused on that!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They never forget each other's birthday's and always put a lot of effort into each other's presents/ surprise parties.
Refused to be separated while in juvie
When they go travelling together, Rindou packs an extra eye mask for sleeping in case Ran loses or forgets his somewhere.
They have a lot of movie nights together
They're the best men at each other's weddings and both take their duties very seriously.
They hang out a lot together even if one of them isn't interested in what the other is doing, they'll still go with them.
When they were kids and teenagers they used to attend each other's dentist and doctors appointments.
Ran has Rindou's optician on speed dial in case he breaks his glasses
Rindou will remove any bugs from Ran's room and their apartment so Ran doesn't have to deal with them.
If one of them is cold, the other will roll their eyes but still hand over their scarf/ gloves.
As kids, Rindou used to run to Ran and sleep in his room when he had nightmares
Their arguments tend to not last very long, a few hours or a day at most.
Ran has attempted to flirt with girls on Rindou's behalf before (Rindou is always very embarrassed about this).
They take care of each other's injuries after fights
When they were little it was fairly common for Ran to give Rindou piggyback rides. One time after a fight, the opposite happened, Ran got hurt and Rindou gave him a piggyback ride to help him home.
Ran secretly tells people that Rindou is the best DJ around
They're very good at reading each other's body language and knowing their moods straight away.
The first few times Rindou decided to drive his bike, Ran forced him to wear a helmet. (Ran said he didn't need one though, only Rindou)
Both of them are kind of unsure on how to take care of a sick person but try their best when each other is sick.
They text each other a lot when apart
They both follow the code of "I can tease/ bully him as much as I like but if anyone else does then they're dead"
And finally, Ran ruffles Rindou's hair a lot. Rindou always acts annoyed at this but secretly likes the act of affection.

Love and Morality
Hanma Shuji x Reader (Y/n) female
Philosophical shit
Hanma and Y/n are married
The bass in the club is still thumping like a second heartbeat by the time Shuji figures out something’s off.
Y/n is usually calm, composed, the quiet kind of intoxicating that sits in the corner and sees everything. But tonight—tonight she’s leaning too close, her hand flat against his chest as she smiles up at him like he’s the center of the room and the gravity holding her down at once.
“Okay,” he mutters under his breath, placing an arm around her shoulders. “Time to go.”
She doesn’t argue. Just hooks her arms around his waist like a lazy vine and lets him guide her through the haze of lights and sweat and perfume.
By the time he gets her into the passenger seat of his car, she’s quiet for all of two minutes before she starts talking. Not just talking—philosophizing.
“Isn’t it weird,” she says, head tipped against the window, “how you can love someone even if the things they do are terrible? Like, love them so much you can excuse murder.”
Shuji exhales through his nose and loosens his tie. “This would’ve been easier if you were a messy drunk,” he mutters.
She doesn’t hear him—or she does and chooses to ignore it.
“Like... you come home with blood on your knuckles and that haunted look in your eyes,” she murmurs, eyes half-lidded but too bright. “And I just... hate how much I care. How that blood could belong to someone else's husband but it doesn't matter as long as you’re home. How I watch the door like it’s supposed to explain why you’re late and hope karma hasn't caught up with you.”
He glances at her, jaw tight. “Y/n, maybe sleep it off, yeah?”
But she keeps going, unspooling like a ribbon caught in wind.
“I always tell myself I chose this. You. But I didn’t, not really. I couldn’t have chosen anyone else. I've never wanted anyone like I want you. That’s the worst part.” She gives a breathless laugh. “You were inevitable.”
Shuji grips the steering wheel harder than necessary. The city lights blur past. “Almost home,” he says, like that’ll fix any of this.
She shifts in her seat to rest her head on his shoulder. That warm, gooey feeling claws at his throat like bile. He clears it and loosens his tie a little more.
Getting her through the penthouse door feels like navigating a dream where everything’s too soft and slow.
“You’re so handsome, it’s stupid,” she says with a crooked smile. “You do terrible things, but you’ve got great bone structure. And good dick.”
He snorts despite himself. “Thanks, I guess.”
She flops onto the edge of the bed. He kneels in front of her, tugging at the straps of her heels, then moves up to start unclasping her jewelry. She tilts her head, watching him with the kind of fondness that guts him.
“You always do this,” she whispers.
“Do what?” he asks, trying to gently remove her eyeliner and mascara.
She doesn't speak right away but runs a hand through his hair. “Pretend you’re not soft,” she says, lips curving. “But when I fall asleep on the couch after waiting up for you or after a long day you remove my earrings before bed and wipe my makeup off like an artist detailing a painting.”
He pauses, cloth in hand, and meets her eyes.
“You don’t know what I am,” he says softly.
She leans forward, brushing her forehead to his. “I do. That’s the problem. You only tell me you love me when you’re intoxicated or balls deep in me, but you love me all the time. You get anxious when I tell you that I love you. You’re not good with feelings because you choose not to be, it’s easier not to feel.”
The words land harder than he expects, settling somewhere in his ribs. He doesn’t respond. He just wipes at the corner of her mouth with the cloth, like that makes him harder to read. Then he gets her into one of his T-shirts, tucks her in like she’s something delicate and borrowed.
“You stress me out,” she murmurs as he pulls the blankets up.
“Yeah?” he mutters, trying not to feel the words too deep but he’s not used to being someone who matters enough to hurt someone. Especially not like this.
“You make me scared,” she continues, voice quiet, lashes brushing her cheeks. “Of not knowing. Of losing. Of caring this much.”
He sits beside her, his long fingers tracing shapes on her arm.
“I don't mean to,” he says, guilt blooming in his chest.
“I know.” She yawns. “That’s why I’m still here.”
She’s asleep ten minutes later.
Shuji watches her breathe. Watches the rise and fall of her chest, the small crease in her brow that doesn’t go away even in dreams. He smooths the line out with his thumb and exhales.
“You’re not the only one scared, y’know.”
But she’s already gone, lost to sleep.
He lies down beside her, facing the ceiling, listening to the same silence she fell asleep to. Inevitable, she said. He doesn’t know if that’s a blessing or a curse. But he knows she’s right.
