"Don't try to play high and mighty here." N replies simply, crossing his arms. That's about enough. "I tried this for conversational purposes, but the both of you are too stubborn for an interesting conversation. She wouldn't be the first person to not believe that I can speak to Pokemon, and it's not like her opinion matters more than the others'."

[Hearing those words made his smile grow all the wider and he turned his gaze down as though that alone would hide it from the other's view. He had helped him. Well, that was the least he could do, right? Besides, it was what he was best at, wasn't it? Talking and putting a meaning behind words that he hopes can help the ones around him. He was glad he managed to say something with a positive effect.]

I'm glad I could help. [He looks up as he says this, adjusting his hat ever so slightly as he does so.] It's nice to hear you saying those things. [It reminds him of how things were before, and what was said to him that changed his mind about Pokemon-trainer relationships over time. It was pleasant.] You haven't changed much.
[ Seeing the other smile had a comforting effect on the brunet. No matter which N he met, their smiles always held something special to Touya. Maybe because they were pure and honest most of the time. However as he listened intently, he couldn’t help but quirk his brows in surprise. ] That’s actually…!

Of course, you’re right. I- I guess I was so focused on finding something that I forgot why people think like that…
[ In all honesty though, he still didn’t get why they believed in him. He was no one special, after all. ] Well, whatever my path will be… As long as I can work together with my Pokémon friends, I have nothing to fear. We’ll take care of each other. [ At that, he smiled again. ] Heh, thank you, N. You helped me a lot now.

"Your passion for this city continues to amaze me. That's good. It's devotion like that that shapes the world everyday. No one makes a difference concerning things they don't care about."

"You know, as interesting as the city is now, I'm sure it would be even more fun to visit once you've done what you want to do with it." He nods as though confirming this as true. "I don't know about other people, but some of my favorite places to visit are the ones where everyone seems motivated. When I'm somewhere and everyone around me is dragging their feet, it's a bit depressing."
“Heh, well like I said, now I know where my equation went wrong so why would I give up? I still want to change this city and I know it’s possible, so I’ll rework my formula for as many iterations as it takes.”

“Well that’s one reason I need to refactor the city, to try to give the world more determination to succeed. If more zeros did that, Shibuya would become an even more amazing city, not to mention zetta exciting! I’ll be bored out of my mind if this city doesn’t add a bit of liveliness, so I don’t plan to give up.”

As he listened to Sho explain what had happened, his expression turns from curiosity to knowing sympathy. N knows what it's like to have a plan and see it crushed before his eyes, although it was a bit different in his case. In the end, after he was defeated, he didn't want to execute his plan anymore. His mind had been altered entirely. But Sho still wanted control in Shibuya, to make it a beautiful place where people can be inspired. That had to make the loss even more crushing for him.

"I'm sorry to hear it went so badly." The slightest of smiles returned to his face before he continued. "But I have to say, the fact that you're still so set on getting the power you need to make the city better is admirable. Many people would be too discouraged to keep trying, but you have a rock solid resolution. That's something the world could use more of."
Even though N’s question was somewhat expected, but it still took him bt surprise a bit. At this point, Sho could talk about his past attempt without getting too upset about it, but the problem was that N had only lived in the UG. But then again, he was from a different dimension. Still, it may be best not to go into too many details for now.

“Well, Shibuya is run by a radian called the Composer. To take over Shibuya you have to defeat him and you become the new Composer. I thought I had calculated my plan to perfection, but I miscalculated the Composer’s power. In the end, I was the one who got crunched and wound up in a heap of garbage.” It hurt Sho’s pride a bit to think about it, not to mention how fast he had lost, but in the end, it was useful to see the Composer’s true power. Not to mention it made him want that rank even more.

[So something like alternate dimensions and other worlds fits into Luke's category of mysteries? Oh yeah, these "investigations" were definitely games he played with that professor guy. There's nothing wrong with that. It's kind of adorable. N used to play imaginary games too, when he was a kid. He always pretended he was in a world where there were no humans, and he would run around with his Pokemon friends, imagining that he was a Pokemon too and that they were all living in the wild. Well, he had to grow up eventually. It was a good thing that he did.]

"I'm glad I have your help then, Luke. I'm sure you're the expert on this kind of strange happening if you've investigated things like this before. With your help, I'll have it figured out in no time."
[And then again, even if Luke wasn't much help in the end, or it ended up being some sort of game to him, which N didn't honestly think was the case despite assuming Luke previous investigations were all pretend, it would still be nice to have the company while trying to figure out how he got here and how to get back. Especially if that person were someone with similar abilities to his. He has to admit, he hasn't talked to many of the animals like the ones in this world before. It's rare to see them where he's from, even though they're known to exist. The problem for them is that they're easy prey for Pokemon, but it seems like they're easier to find here. N would really like to ask Luke more about the animals he's talked to in his lifetime. But for right now, that wasn't the main focus. There was a bigger picture to look at for the time being.]
"So, where would you begin looking into something like this then?"
[Luke blinked at the green-haired boy a moment or two before letting his expression widen into another smile. Luke, darling, if you keep at this, your face is going to get stuck. Your face is going to get stuck as a smile and you’ll never be able to stop and everyone will think you look ridiculous.
Anyway, he hadn’t told him about his investigations with the professor yet, had he? If N was willing to listen, Luke would need to tell him all about them! Well, some other time, though, since all of this talk of parallel dimensions seemed a lot more important than Luke’s adventures with Layton.
He found it kind of funny that his mother had been the one to suggest that idea to N, though. He didn’t know his mother believed in all of that stuff, too! Well, assuming he was talking about the same Brenda. He had said something about Misthallery, right? Luke’s mother was the only Brenda in that town, as far as he knew, so N was probably talking about the same one.]

“Well, I don’t know about any portals to alternate dimensions, but I might as well help you look into it! Like I said before, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything too exciting, and a mystery like that one certainly fits into that category!”

This seemed like a strange thing to say in N's opinion, and you can hear that thought in his voice when he responds. "Thank you."

He entirely disregards the man's comment that the uniform isn't odd, choosing to look it over once or twice. "I feel like I've seen that somewhere before."
“Hi, kid. Nice hair ya got there, Greenie.” Huh, this kid seemed pretty timid. Weird. But at least he wasn’t acting like a nuisance.

Proton shrugged. “It’s not that odd.”

N's smile grew all the wider at Sho's display of great confidence, but something he said made him give his head a curious tilt. There were some questions he hadn't asked before.

"I have to admit, I'm a little curious. What happened the last time you tried to go after your goal in Shibuya, Sho? If you don't mind me asking, of course." He doesn't see why he should mind it, really. It's not like N hasn't told him a lot about his own past already. He doesn't say this though. It's better to be courteous.
“You’re zetta welcome! Right, the way I see it, if you have enough determination and knowledge, there’s not a single variable that can stand in your way.”

“Heh, as if anyone could subtract from my determination. Of course I’m confident, when I know all the parameters, my equations are flawless. I miscalculated the last time I tried going after my goal and ended up crunched, but now I know more about the variable in my way. Once I figure out how to work that variable into my formula, taking over Shibuya will as easy as pi.” He still had a long way to go and a lot more to figure out until that point, but that didn’t dampen Sho’s confidence one bit.

"Oh, yes. I've been to a lot of places now." He had perked up quite a bit when he said this. He really wanted to tell her all about the places he had been to and the things he had seen there, but the fact of the matter was that she had probably seen those places herself. Besides, after he had left so suddenly like the last time he had seen her, ranting on and on about his experiences probably wasn't something he should do.
"If you're traveling around regions, I'm sure you've made a lot of progress on the Pokedex. Professor Juniper must be happy about that."

“Oh you know; completing the pokedex, travelling to other regions, stuff like that.” The fact that she didn’t want him to know that she’s actually been searching for him makes her want to slap herself. But just seeing him already makes her happy and knowing that he’s fine.
“How ‘bout you? Any places where you’ve been to aside from Unova?” she asked trying to chase away awkward atmosphere.

N nods with a big smile on his face, but something is bugging him. He's not really sure he's comfortable talking about Ghetsis' plan with Sho. It's come up a few times already, but he thinks he may want to avoid bringing the topic up from now on.

"Thank you. I believe you're right about that. A person's future relies on their own decisions and strengths. I like to think I'll make the right choices from this point on." He definitely hasn't in the past, but that won't stop him now. "Don't let anyone discourage you either. I can't say I know you very well, but from what I do know, you seem like you have good goals, and you seem pretty confident in your ability to pull them off too."
“Well in the end, he miscalculated the variables, and his equations solution didn’t go as he planned.” Sho shrugged, it was good for N’s world that Ghetsis failed, but at the same time, he could understand how that kind of failure felt when you thought you had planned everything so perfectly.

“Heh, guess well I’m sure you’ll work something out. Just figure out what solution you want and go for it, don’t let anything get in your way. In the end, your own power is the best variable you have, don’t let the other digits tell you what you can’t calculate. You’re the only that can decide your own equation right?”

[The sudden switch made it hard for N to decide how to respond and he looks back towards her again. She seemed a lot less likely to snap at him now that she had just a second ago.]

I heard...
[When he came back to help stop Team Plasma again, he did try to find Touko. He assumed she would still be in the region, remaining champion, but she wasn't there, and so he had been let down. It was at that time he found out she had left to find him.]
It's a shame you weren't here the first time I came back. I tried to find you, but you had left.
Hm…

Well, I guess there’s not much more I can shake out of you. It’s nice to see you again, N.
[White couldn’t keep on that angry attitude. It was a sudden mood change, but it was what she did sometimes when she was angry and upset at the same time.]
You know, after I beat Alder, I went out to look for you—it seems like a lot has happened in Unova since then.
[White had heard lots of things about the New Team Plasma, and another young girl that she has yet to meet take them down.]

[N couldn't judge him when it came to finding a dream. He hadn't found his own yet, so what room did he have to pass judgment? But to hear that he went through all of those battles back then because of N. He had done so much. He became the champion. Because of N? He tries not to let the surprise he had at these words register on his face, and does a pretty good job, actually.]

[He puts on a smile.] Well... If people expect great things from you, it's because they believe in you, and you should believe in yourself too. They have their reasons for thinking you'll do great. You just have to find your own path to follow, and you'll do fine.
[ Slightly canting his head to one side, Touya blinked in surprise. This wasn’t exactly what he had expected. He always thought that N would be disappointed in him if he didn’t have a clear dream. ] Y-yeah, you’re probably right.

But it’s easier said than done. People expect great things from me, and I- I’m afraid I’ll just let them down… [ He sighed unhappily at that and scratched his cheek. ] I’m not really interested in Pokémon battles and the league, you see? Even back then… I mostly went along with it because of you.

"...He did put a lot of thought into it. He planned it out for a very long time before he started to really put the plan into action." He smiled sadly for a moment, but it turned positive again very quickly. "You're right about that though. Some good comes out of everything, and now we're putting in our best efforts to fix the negative consequences as well."

"I'm not entirely sure." He pauses for a moment or so. "I've considered seeing if they'd let me teach at a school there, but I'm not sure how many people would be comfortable learning from me. Not everyone in Unova considers me their best friend. I can't be positive what I'll do. It depends on how things work out."
“I guess Ghetsis really had his equation worked out until the end huh? I have to admit, that kind of planning is a bit admirable at the least. But sounds like you guys completely refactored his plans around and flipped the sign from negative to positive.”

“Makes sense to me. If a variable helped your equation reach the desired solution, why change the formula? I hope you calculate the solution you’re looking for once you get back there. Any idea what you’re gonna do once you get back to your matrix?”

No, this was just frustrating, and N had the idea that White had planned for it to be difficult.
"I thought you'd want to since it was something for your trainer, but if you don't, that's fine. I won't ask for your help again."
