A yellow clad arm is extended to embrace the boy, and a laugh rising from the depths of the young woman's  chest. "There he is, just the apprentice I've been looking for," flashing a toothy smile, Emmy raises a single finger, "I've got a proposition- a puzzle, how about it?"
Tumblr media
What she had in mind wasn't exactly a puzzle, but little white lies should be permitted in order to keep a steady hold of Luke's attention. A mission was a mission after all, puzzle or no puzzle.

(@numberoneapprentice) Babysitting Duty
It came as a bit of a shock when Clive received a phone call from Luke's parents; he was, in all honesty, worried about the young apprentice's safety--as silly as it seemed, throughout the time they'd spent in the underground "Future London", he'd considered Luke to be like a little brother, but he knew that the professor's apprentice most likely didn't reciprocate those feelings.
The reason of the call was rather astonishing, as well; apparently, Luke's parents would be going out to spend some quality time together, along with preparing for the move, so they offered to hire Clive to babysit. He'd advertised a bit in order to attempt to begin to earn some money that he so desperately needed, but a call from the Tritons was the most unexpected thing he ever could have dreamed of.
Of course, he'd agreed, but he couldn't help but to concern himself over Luke; the last time they'd encountered each other, Clive had been taken into custody of the police and imprisoned...what a wonderful way to say goodbye. He intended to atone for his crimes, and that was exactly as he'd done, hoping he'd changed for the better this time as he approached the address that the Tritons had told him. Almost there...
How would Luke react to seeing Clive again? As his babysitter, no less? The brunet had always intended to eventually apologize to his younger after all the misdeeds he'd committed, foul sins that hadn't gone unpunished...he'd even impersonated Luke, and he knew that it would be tough to forgive him, but...
Hey, he could try, right?
As he approaches the door, he inhales a bit deeply; he knew that Luke's parents had already left due to the absence of a vehicle in the driveway, and he hesitantly knocks on the door, hoping for an answer.

This time, Clive had a few of his followers follow him when he took another walk around London. This time, they could assist him if anything strange would turn up. It turns out that Clive was right to do this, nothing less to be expected of a leader!
But that aside, how strange was it to see Luke Triton again. Though, the young boy was clad in blue instead of the usual black. Something he hadn't seen in years. It was suspicious to say at the least, there was something off about him. So, the leader tapped on his partner's shoulder to tell her to keep a close eye on their surroundings while he went to investigate the matter. A quick nod before she sprinted off to tell the others. He took a deep breath before deciding to approach the boy.
"Hello, you look like someone I know..." An awkward greeting for Clive, but it was hard to know what to say to the boy who hated him. Oh well, I guess the young leader just had to go through with this.

A portal opened over the skies of London, high enough that it wouldn't draw attention, and one white-robed angel soared out of it, into the urban environment he knew nothing about.
"Thanks for the lift, Lady Palutena." He said to the Goddess speaking directly into his head.
"Not a problem, we can't have you crashing into new worlds all the time, it's not exactly a dignified entrance for the envoy of a goddess."
He descended gracefully into an alleyway, trying not to attract too much attention. He brushed himself off as he exited the alley and looked around the city. It was a lot different than Angel Land, not as many columns and marble here. Not to mention that the people were dressed differently.
His connection to Lady Palutena was cut off now that he had landed, it was time for Pit to have a little Pit time after all. Although... He didn't exactly know what to do. So for now, he was stuck wandering and sticking out like  sore thumb fr a while.

Well, wherever the gambler had ended up, it definitely wasn't home. He couldn't recall what had happened between, y'know, being home and suddenly ending up in some foreign city, but he'd keep walking regardless. He could at least pretend he lived around here -- maybe then no one would bother him.

It was very rare for Luke to end up staying at the office with Flora when the professor left, but this was one of those times. Apparently, Professor Layton had some sort of meeting to attend? Anyhow, when the man had to leave on this business after wandering around who-knows-where with his apprentice, he stopped by the office with the boy. Did he really tell Luke to keep an eye on Flora for him? She was pretty sure that was what she heard, and if that wasn't a laugh, she wasn't sure what was.
Once the professor had left, promising not to be gone too long, which was another joke in itself, Flora took a seat in his office chair and opened the windows. After removing a cigarette from the pack in her pocket, she lit it with a match. So what if Luke was there? What was he going to do, tell Layton on her? She was fairly good at acting, and got herself out of worse things than that. Hopefully, the smoke would keep him on the other side of the room. She didn't want want to be bothered by him to begin with.

It was a relatively normal day for Clive Dove. The morning had started off with a trip to see his parole officer, which is never particularly fun. It wasn't easy having every detail of his life scrutinized, but it was his own fault he was in the situation. Afterwards, a walk to the local grocery store was necessary. It would only be quick, since there wasn't much he needed, and the store wasn't very far from his apartment. After his other business was taken care of, he made the trip to the store.
First thing first, he had to pick up something to make for dinner that night. He was bound to pick something quick and easy to make, as he usually did, and so he found himself in the aisle where that sort of thing was likely to be. It seemed today he'd be picking from the same usual options. Yes, it seemed everything was the same as normal until he noticed a very familiar boy standing just a little ways away from him.

"Luke?" Clive said with surprised exasperation, "Is that you?"

It wasn't surprising to anyone who knew him any at all for someone to see the Doctor in London. It was his favorite place to go. The one place on Earth he knew like the back of his own hand. Well, he knew it very well in the early twenty-first century. The buildings and streets are different during the time period he was in at the time. The roaring 20's! Roaring, yes, but maybe not always because of the positive things that were kept in mind when it was given that title.
This particular trip was made to visit an old friend. That wasn't something the Doctor did very often, spontaneously drop in to visit someone, but there are those rare occasions. He was just wandering through the street, looking around the surrounding the area and turning around a corner, when he bumped into someone. One quick look down shows him that it was a child he just walked into, and he felt twice as bad as he would have before.
"I'm sorry. Are you alright?" He asked, giving the boy a concerned look.

Another rainy day in London, when his parents had decided to leave him home alone due to their occupations. It was a day off from school, so Clive was bored and lonely--as usual. He certainly despised this kind of weather--it only meant that he couldn't do anything outside unless he wanted to get drenched.
Oh, well, it was better than staying inside with no signal on the telly and nothing to do other than re-read his collection of Sherlock Holmes novels.
Putting on a heavier jacket than he normally wore, he manages to discover an umbrella that had been hanging in their closet and grips it in his fist for the moment with a slight grin now curving onto his lips. He had just enough money to grab some hot chocolate from his favorite cafe, so at least that was something to look forward to!
Clive opens the door to the outdoors without a moment of hesitation, opening his umbrella now--for, if he did so inside, then it would bring bad luck, right? The duckette wasn't exactly superstitious, but he liked to have an imagination and have his wits about him at the same time.
The pitter-patter of the rain became a melody in his mind as he trekked around on the sidewalk, looking from side to side rather frequently in search of that cafe he'd started to become a regular at. It was one of his favorite venues, and he adored being able to visit, especially when the dreary weather began to cloud his mood.
After a while, however, he seemed to have managed to get himself stranded, his nose and cheeks now rosy due to the chill outside, and a slight sneeze beginning to catch on. Clive certainly pleaded that it wasn't a cold, otherwise his parents would get suspicious, and decides to seat himself on a bench, wondering where he'd lost his trail.

Even those who never picked up a newspaper could tell that something was going on at the Louvre if they took one look at the place. The front entrance was surrounded by constables. This may be a damper for any tourists planning to visit the museum, but taking the elevator into the building was no proper entrance for the notorious Phantom R. And this was, after all, his show. Those guards wouldn't be there at all if it weren't for his little warning letter.
There was no security around his usual entrance. No one would suspect a secret way into the Louvre, but it was a convenient thing for an art thief to know about, wasn't it? Keeping quiet and avoiding drawing attention to himself, Raphael and Fondue made their way over to the shadowy part of the building where the secret entrance was. Once they were over there, it didn't seem likely that they'd see anyone else, as they usually didn't. But things don't always go as they usually do, and a little boy played the role of the unsuspected variable. How old was this kid? Like, ten? What was he doing hanging around this dark place? He was looking around like he was searching for something or someone. Maybe Inspector Vergier was so desperate he decided to send a kid patrolling around the Louvre. That would be hilarious.
Ushering Fondue to follow, Raphael took cover behind a bush before he could be seen. If the kid saw him, he might run off to tell the inspector, and then they'd find his entrance for sure. That would really suck for his career. Oh well, this wasn't a big issue. It could be handled easily using a recording. Recordings always help. And conveniently, this was a little boy. Kids were easy to scare, so he could just take advantage of that, as awful as that sounds. Lets see, what sounds did he have on the master instrument already? There was the ghost sound he used to scare that constable before. That would probably work.
With the two staying completely hidden, with the exception of Fondue's tail, Raphael pressed the button on the instrument to play the eerie sound and hoped that that would successfully drive the kid away.
