Why is the new Iliad Musical called Ilium? Well, I’m glad you asked!!

Ilium is another name to refer to the city of Troy! (Home of the Trojan War!)

The city has had many names and many iterations of its name, from the more ancient Troia and Ilion (using the English alphabet here, I know in Greek the letters are different), to the Latin names of Troia and Ilium (<- which is the one Jay chose to use!!). (Also some cool Turkish names for the city like Hisarlik!)

Now how do you pronounce Ilium?

I-Lee-Um! Or Il-ee-um!

Do I know for a fact that’s how Jorge will pronounce it? Nope! But my best bet is that is how it will be pronounced in his musical!

(this is primarily for a percy jackson community im in, however, other people are still open to join!)

i got a bunch of positive feedback about the idea of an art collab (even though that was three weeks ago and i kind of forgot) so im finally hosting it! just say in the comments if you claim a character and ill update this post as characters are claimed (i wanted to join too so i spun a wheel of names to make it fairer, sorry if i took your favorite character or something though 💔)

this is the original pin i got the photo from, its a collage with images posted by other people but since the artstyle is so similar and the watermarks i think i can safely say that its all by mellon_soup (on tiktok)

this part of the collage, frank’s pose, says tracing is okay, it does have the original artist’s watermark in the corner so i think its fine, however if at any point the artist finds this and wishes for this to be taken down i will comply and try drawing my own base (im not too good with posing so i didnt want to draw it as my first choice)
