Kikimora the Harlequin

Kikimora is a Harlequin clown of the masked subspecies (V. harlequinus mascatus), distinguished by being born with a mask naturally fused to her face. Typically, members of this masked variety shed their facial coverings upon reaching maturity, gaining the ability to don or remove them at will. However, Kikimora suffers from a rare genetic condition known as Mask Molt Syndrome—an affliction that disrupts the natural molting process, leaving behind a permanent scar where the mask failed to detach properly.

While the condition poses no direct health risks, it lends Kikimora a strikingly eerie appearance. Unfortunately, this unsettling visage attracted the interest of clown poachers, who captured them from the wild and forced them into the brutal world of underground clown-fighting rings. There, Kikimora was trained to battle, kill, and consume the flesh of fellow clowns—a grim survival instinct honed through violence until the ring was eventually shut down by authorities.

Rescued and later adopted by a former celebrity-turned-political figure, Kikimora was transformed from a fighter into a pampered companion. Now cherished and indulged, he enjoys a lavish diet of clown meat steaks during the day. But at night, beneath the light of the hunter’s moon, this ever-grinning Harlequin prefers to roam on roof tops and among the trees, whistling a tune that strikes fear into the hearts of urban Hobo clowns and wild Circus clowns alike.
