Gorgeous Bug That Was Named After Picasso Images Is Going Viral, People Online Love It
Scientifically known as Sphaerocoris annulus, this animal was quickly dubbed Picasso Bug, as its jewelry-like look, reminiscent of the famous artist’s painting style, mesmerized everyone who caught even a glimpse of it.

Another bug character that loves exploring! Her name is Nume, and she's a Picasso bug! 🩵🧡✨
She's Polly's very first friend! She loves him so so so much and has taught him most of what he knows about life and tech
Astronaut, explorer and computing pro. She's from a very ancient civilization that used a far more advanced technology than anything we can imagine nowadays (I've been inspired by the Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger for this one 🫡)
Polly thinks of her as the purest person in the world. She's kind, brave, collected, altruistic, postitive… always willing to help others and learn more about the universe that surrounds them
She travels alongside her crew throughout their planet and the galaxy for research. They discovered Polly in one of their travels, and she's the one who suggested taking him in
Picasso bugs have wings under their "shell" and they don't fly often, that's why I hid hers under a cloak!
You can find Nume on Art Fight if you're interested hehehe

Picasso bug
Sphaerocoris annulus, common names Picasso bug or Zulu hud bug (Zulu: "iCikwa"), is a species of shield-backed bugs of the family Scutelleridae.
Sphaerocoris annulus can reach a length of about 15 millimetres (0.59 in). The basic color is green, with eleven ring-shaped spots on the scutellum. The colors and the design of these bugs represent a warning to predators. They also emit a noxious odour when disturbed. Main host plants are Gossypium species (Malvaceae), Coffea arabica (Rubiaceae), Citrus species (Rutaceae) and Vernonia amygdalina (Asteraceae). This species reproduces at the beginning of the dry season (November–December). Eggs are laid on the underside of leaves, and nymphs will spend a majority of their time in flowers feeding. Once they molt into adults, however, their feeding becomes more generalized. The full development lasts 56 days. Sphaerocoris annulus nymphs are a creamy-white color with black stripes and dots, and gain their colorful spots when they reach maturity.

Picasso bugs are so funky
(Confession: I misremembered them as beetles when I drew this. Oops. They're not too far off at a glance at least.)
