me: choosing to make the music video for "give me a break" have a storyline about a girl writing rpf when the lyrics are all about feeling a loss of identity is clearly a commentary on how fans can dehumanize and mischaracterize artists to a funhouse mirror degree and how rpf is a magnification of that distortion and about how that aspect of fandom does not exist in a bubble and can have an impact on the artists themselves
