Let's talk food!

More specifically, custom food for your Sims! I have a number of creators whose work I absolutely LOVE, and I wish I current had installed (soon, soon, must make the mods folder less bloated first). All of them have a unique take on it, and I only wish their delicious-looking custom food mods played nicer with each other. @brazenlotus - Absolutely STUNNING expansions in both tasty meals and gameplay. Live out your homesteading dreams through your sims! @robinksimblr - Literally my first foray into custom foods for the Sims 4, and still one of my favorites. They made a huge variety of vegetarian and many different cultures Cuisine, and even though I think they've stopped modding for the Sims 4, I am still very thankful for the custom foods they did make. @icemunmun-spicy-scalpel - I. Am. AMAZED at how many facets of Sim life they delve into to produce amazing custom foods for our sims! Even if my sims found their waffles a bit addictive, I think it's well worth having in your game! @tianasimstreehouse - Absolutely beautiful dishes for your sims, and such a simple, and easy set of mods to use! Warning for everyone! Because they all affect the same part of the game, food mods from different creators may not play well together! It's always good to do a few test runs to see if there's any issues before getting into serious play, and do a little research to see what others have said.

And here we go again… I'm really just getting hit with a LOT right now and I don't have nearly enough to pay for all of it. Plus I still owe the well pump company $1550 and they're mad that I could only afford to give them $150 last month… [They don't want me making payments in the first place. They're pissed I didn't pay their almost $7000 bill back in December.] I also owe $300 to a tire company. And In a week I'll get the bills for the mortgage [which is just shy of an entire months pay.] The garbage bill, our car insurance. [The car payment will take my partners next paycheck.] The car needs an oil change again and my professional license renewal for my job is $80 and has to be paid before October. I feel literally sick. I'm sorry. Anything helps. ;_;

Let's talk Sims Furniture Folks!

These are my absolute favorite Simblr furniture creators! From unique sets to addons, we've got it all bby! I'll totally admit my tastes in furniture are eclectic, but these creators do superb work and deserve more peeps knowing about them. In the Addon (an addon being an expanded selection of items matching an existing Pack, expansion, stuff, game, or even kit) category we have: @peacemaker-ic @illogicalsims @brazenlotus @lumenniveus

All four of them do really good, high-quality Addons for a variety of different packs. Each has their own preferred aesthetic, so it's worth checking them all!

Moving on to the full room sets, I present a wide variety of fun creators that will look right at home in your game! These many of these creators in particular have stunningly fun vintage or bright takes! . . . I've been re-reading 'Eclipse Meets His Match' by @theinfamousdoctorf (fic tumblr at @emhm), and realized I had made Firefly in this megahood in entirely the wrong outfit vibe! So here he is (and with his sweetie!) - spoilers past the cut~! For both the neighborhood AND the fic. Proceed at your own risk!

I'm not being explicit, but it does give some things away!

These dorks are sweeter than pie together, and I didn't need to overhaul their home much - just shake some of it up to be more modern or upcycle/thrifted vibe. It's a bit chaotic, but I think it suits them both. Firefly's new look is mostly in blacks, dark greys, and pops of yellow or orange.

I went ahead and gave him more layers of winterwear, and overall just more of a loose-fitting kind of vibe. The dood deserves the comfy! As well as a bed big enough to easily cuddle with his sweetie.

Earth has proven to be more of an early riser, and I took advantage of that to get her learning more cooking skill - the less chance there is of them setting the house on fire, the better. She's proven to be casual about clothing tho.

I have no idea what they're talking about to give her that expression, but it made me giggle for a good while.

These two are genuinely adorable, and I hope I've captured their vibe well enough. He's working as a Handyman, while Earth is a freelance babysitter.

If I can ever get the latest three expansions, I intend to have her open a daycare.

Okay, I really need to track down some very broken CC now. I've got at least two pieces I can't identify that are doing some weird things. One is just typical more broken - the whole red and black question mark thing in piercings and/or hair. The strange part of that one is that I can't un-click it directly - but I can remove it by unclicking the whole head category. The other is WEIRD.

The other is legit making my sims vanish. I mean literally, I can't grab them, can't rotate them, the only reason I know they still exist is that they're still making noises. When I switch to a different category they can reappear and be normally editable. But I've had it randomize up so that this item was on them in every outfit category. Which confused the hell out of me.

I have GOT to get these items out of my game. If I can't find them, I'm gonna post some screencaps of them.

ALL MAXIS MATCH EYES completely overhauled and extended

...of course also with Fairy addons! 🧚

Finally finished this huge timesink of a project, I've made a couple of changes to my occult eye sets, which got broken a while ago bc of the fairies patch. Some rather extensive updates were needed, and I'm finally done, on top of also making occult addons + general fixes for all my maxis-match based eye sets. Hope you enjoy! 🤍

Oasis, Dazzling Light, Treasure, Waterdrop & Oxygen all have new addons for every single occult state (fairies!!!, mermaids, aliens, vampires, werewolves, ghosts + also the reaper reward eye)

I've also changed the way the files are sorted by numbering, been meaning to do that for a while bc it really bugged me. Anyway, you'll need to delete the old files from your game if you intend to replace them with these new ones as they're named differently. More info @ the download link.

They're fully compatible now with the way how occult eyes work with the latest patches, as in, occult eyes being enabled for regular human states for example.

That explains so much about how a few rosebushes of my grandparent's rose garden smelled unpleasant to me. And why one bush by the front gate downright reeked it was so intensely rose-y for at least half the year.

By now most of us know some people have a genetic variant that makes cilantro taste like soap to them. Can we also acknowledge some people have a variant that makes roses smell like dirty water?

I never understood people’s obsession with roses as this romantic flower when I was younger because they smell kinda nasty to me. Not nausea inducing but definitely not nice either. It was only later in life I met other people who experienced the same thing and I eventually learned that the sense of smell is one of the most individual experiences of all the senses. The only way I know what roses smell like to other people is thanks to rose scented perfumes and I wish rose gardens smelled like that to me.

Okay, today's post is a little different because I'm featuring multiple households. But these households are both from the Security Breach Show, and characters that have either died or faded into mostly offscreen lives. There's a few I've already featured that I'll list at the end that I've already given focus posts.

So why am I featuring them? Because I'm moving them from actively played households to being 'townies' - relinquishing direct control to the game. So they may show up wandering neighborhoods, hanging out at public spaces, and generally having their lives without my direct control. Let's get on to the first household! Which is - the Foxy household!

Yep, that's Funtime Foxy, being his usual doofy self (honestly, I really enjoy his character, he's a nice mix of oblivious and perceptive that jives with me) and Glamrock Mangle on the right. Yes, I know she's his ex, believe me I kicked her out of the household into an apartment of her own after taking these shots.

Lolbit lives with her hubby, and I settled them in Strangerville (which is one of the weirdest neighborhoods in the game) because it just fit their cheerful, goofy vibe. Mangle lives in San Myshuno, in her own apartment.

Up next is one of my wish fulfillment families, because god damnit I wanted them to have a chance to be happy together.

Puppet, Foxy, and FC (actually called Kit in-game) form one little family in Tartosa, the neighborhood that arrived with more wedding activities in the game. It's beautiful, it's sprawling, and one I don't focus on highly. I want them to be happy on their own . . hopefully. Also, I didn't pick those clothes on Kit, I legit have no idea why he's wearing them.

Meet Bloodmoon, our duo of vampires in the neighborhood. I legit added them mostly for completion sake, and general amusement with the idea of them skulking around and making nuisances of themselves. There are other Bloodmoons in the Megahood, but these two represent the original twins, down to not being even remotely interested in anything social, easily bored, and having foul tempers. Their individual names are Blud and Blut, because it made me giggle for five minutes.

I know Roxy has effectively disappeared from the shows, and I wasn't terribly attached to that channel despite enjoying the characters (their gameplay videos do not grab me, and that seems to be all it posts now) when they interact with others.

So this family gets to live in San Myshuno, and now Roxy is one of two moms to three kids! She adopted Gregory, and she's now co-fostering Cassie and Helpi with Cassie's mom Amanda Rami. Amanda and Roxy are not in a relationship, but they do get along well, and who knows what will happen when I'm not guiding things.

Gregory, Cassie, and Helpi have all picked fights and had good interactions, so . . I think the best I can expect is chaos. Good luck to them.

Frank, Ron (Ruined Monty), Francis, and Fran adopted a dog while I wasn't watching, and I'm okay with this. They're just going to be a force of chaos in the world, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. I've already had a laugh over how badly Francis flirts.

They named the dog Laserwolf. Laserwolf.

Last but not least is Circus Baby and Glamrock Bonnie, living together as they raise Ennard together. They're living in the tropics, there's lots to do, and they're out of the main focus now. I really enjoy Circus Baby as a character, so I wanted her to at least exist in the neighborhood.

Glamrock Bonnie gave me hard Himbo vibes in his fashion, so I leaned into it here.

Additional families that I covered already: Springtrap, Bonita, Toyzie, and Barry Literally all the Aftons barring Michael. Seriously. Elizabeth and Evan haven't shown up in ages as far as I know, and William is rarely onscreen anymore, as is Nora. Vanny upright has vanished, and Vanessa . . I may split her off to live on her own.

Legit agreed - Roxas I get the vibe just wants to date, period, and doesn't really care who it is as long as he finds them attractive. He's looking for fun. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but isn't what I get the vibe Earth would like.

I'm not about to say 2.0LAES Roxas is a bad person, just . . shallow.

About the Earth and Roxas' ship

I don't see it. I was shipping them right on the first episode, but after some time, I don't think Earth and Roxas would work as a couple. There is no chemistry between them, no shared interests.

Roxas was trying to go on a date with her when he barely knew her, not long after she was awake and very new to the world. Which was weird, btw. There was a miscommunication about the date too. It was so strange and rushed. There is just no communication, no link between them.

I see Earth more with Comedy Bot. They hang out a lot, get along well, and Earth supports him with his comedy. There is more, how do I say it, emotions between them.

Or maybe Chico, or Andromeda (but I wish a break from relationships for her), but I ship Earth mostly with Comedy Bot!

Thank you! And I'm really enjoying playing them, even with how huge the neighborhood is. I'm glad my sim design is a good representation of them, I tried to evoke the feel of them even if I can't do a one-to-one of their designs. :)

Believe me, they don't start off so lovey - I have loved watching their relationship change and grow over the course of the fic. (warning, it's ongoing and gloriously long!)

This is another overhauled home from Chestnut Ridge, the neighborhood from the expansion about horses. The large yard originally held a pair of horse stalls and a horse practice ring, which I ripped out to put down a swingset and monkey bars. I tried for a mix of DIY and bought items for the house's vibes. tied together with a loose color palette. I think it looks nicely lived-in!

I'm not far into playing their lives, but both Sun and Eclipse have jobs - Sun is now a teacher, and Eclipse is a Romance Consultant. I would have made him a security guard if I could, but I think this is him following his passion for seeing peeps hook up/find their matches. So Sun is doing online tutoring, and Eclipse is getting a start on building a treehouse for Jack. Jack would help out if he could, but he's off playing on his swings despite the rainy skies.

So! Updated home for Lord Eclipse and his Sunflower (from the fantastic fic 'Eclipse Meets His Match' @emhm. The place is ridiculously big for just a couple, but opulence is befitting a veritable god. Their home has a fun little garden not-quite-maze, a gazebo, a picnic spot, and a small pool for workouts. I've been mentally debating adding a grill, but I don't think it quite meshes with the vibe.

The upper level is entirely their private domain, with a book nook that looks over the living room, and plenty of space in their bedroom as well as the most luxurious and extra bed I could find in the game. I'm thinking of taking out one side of the book nook to add a jewelry crafting bench - I think cutting gemstones would be a nice hobby for either of them.

Since I'm hopping around from household to household, let's introduce a family from 'Eclipse Meets His Match' by @theinfamousdoctorf! The fic is fantastic and well worth a read - and these two literally are the oldest characters in the story. The Eclipse Who Won And His Servant Sun. Watching their relationship change? One of the sweetest subplots I've enjoyed in that fic, and looking forward to how things go as the story continues.

. . This house _really_ doesn't suit them though. I love the layout, but the design isn't right. So, time to get cracking on it!
