What is Cosplay Corner? A place where cosplayers can feel safe! You can ask anything that's on your mind. You an ask for advice too. But please take my advice with a grain of salt, as I don't find it to be all that good! Please note that I can only read/speak English.

Cosplay is for EVERYONE
I don’t care if you’re a person of color wanting to cosplay an Asian, someone on the bigger side who thinks that they’re not thin enough to pull off the look, A male wanting to cosplay a female, or a female wanting to cosplay a male. I don’t care if you’re not buff enough to pull off that character you’ve been wanting to cosplay. I don’t care if you don’t think you’re not attractive enough, or have the right body shape or color, and nor should you! Anyone is allowed to cosplay anything. Don’t let someone tell you who you can or can’t cosplay. Get out there and have fun. PLAY is in the name gosh darn it! You put on your cosplay and go have fun!

My First Cosplay(s)
Back when I was around 15 years of age, I went to NYCC, with my MOM. Must have been around 2010, I didn’t know who I wanted to cosplay. I wasn’t experienced, heck I’m not that much more experienced than from now. Possibly because I don’t go out of my way to do these really amazing cosplays. But that’s what I’m here to talk about today! My first cosplay was something simple, Canada from Hetalia. You might go looking for pics, see him in some formal wear and think “That’s simple?” That’s not EXACTLY what I went with. I made the outfit so simple, yet easy to tell what character I was cosplaying. A cosplay doesn’t have to be something expensive. I bought a red hoodie, tan pants, and a wig, specifically for Canada. I’m nearsighted, so my glasses I already had were perfect! I even found a nice polar bear hat with a Canadian leaf on it. So that also helped! My second cosplay was Zexion from Kingdom Hearts. Here’s where it got expensive. I can’t remember exactly how much my Org. XIII Cloak was. I wanna say around 60 to 70 usd. The chain wound up breaking. I fixed it, put everything back together. I also bought a wig for my Zexion cosplay. The wigs I find are fairly cheap. So I don’t really concern myself with the price of those. I say pick easy cosplays because, one day you’ll grow out of your cosplay, as I’ve done. I’m 22 and can’t fit into my cloak anymore. Still have it, the chain is lost (rip). I did have fun though! The con was huge and there was a lot to do!
Moral of the story, don’t be me and buy expensive cosplays for your first time going to a con. It’s your first time! There will be others.
