"Kaos was the most accurate TV serie about greek mythology"
Oh yeah, Hera cheating on Zeus with Poseidon was very accurate. Eurydice not loving Orpheus was very accurate. Caeneus being a Amazon and being in a relationship with Eurydice was very accurate. Charon and Prometheus being in a relationship was very accurate. same thing for the relationship between Theseus and Astyanates... very accurate. Many others thing were accurate. Yes. Very, very accurate.

ROMABEL MY BELOVED
Very specific hc: Romano looking at Belgium when singing this part of the Pizzica di San Vito
Tumblr media
Rough translation;
Of your hair, of your hair, I fell in love with your hair I see it blow, I see it blow, I see it blow in the wind,
Eye for an eye, May they loose their eyes, May the heart of those that speak ill of us explode, Eye for an eye, May they loose their eyes, May the heart of those that speak ill of us explode,

Things that could happens 100% happen if Pelops fell into the hands of modern Greek myth retelling writers:
1. Pelops would be turned into an emotionally manipulative, controlling, and physically abusive partner to both Hippodamia and Danais, Chrysippus' mother
2. Would be depicted as an absentee or outright violent father to all his children except Chrysippus, who would be conveniently romanticized or erased depending on how problematic the retelling wants to get.
3. If Chrysippus and Laios are presented as romantic (because those writers seem to love to ignore male victims (es: Hippolytus), they would be ignoring the context of grooming and abduction), Pelops would be reimagined as violently homophobic.
4. His chariot race victory over Oenomaus would be changed in Pelops gaslighting and manipulating Hippodamia into helping him kill her own father.
5. The whole Myrtilus thing would be turned into a gay love gone wrong, casting Myrtilus as the heartbroken queer dude and Pelops as the toxic, cold-hearted "curious" straight man who couldn't deal with his feelings.

Pelops watching Perseus get dragged through the mud in every greek mythology retelling, silently sweating because if anyone finds out about him and Hippodamia, it’s game over for him too

I was rereading the odyssey, specifically the twenty-fourth book of it. While I was reading the fight between Laertes and Antinous' father, Eupeithes, I noticed a detail in the interaction between Laertes and Athena
Tumblr media
Athena called Laertes "Far the dearest of all my friends". I thought about this and started wondering... What if Laertes too, just like Odysseus and Telemachus, has been Athena's pupil? Or maybe they started interacting when Athena became Odysseus' mentor, growing closer and starting to consider each other friends?
