What kind of message are we trying to send exactly? It's ok to not be ok? Really? • NO! • It's NOT OK to not be ok! • It's such a terrible outlook to have on not being ok. Which, to me, seems like it correlates directly with being unhappy. • So now we're telling ourselves and others that it's ok to be unhappy? I hope the majority of the populace of this planet doesn't legitimately feel this way. • Shouldn't we be telling people to punch unhappiness in the throat and terminate that shit from our lives like "hasta la vista, baby" in our most serious Arnold voice? • I'm not joking...don't settle for not being ok for even a second. It's a terrible mentality to nurture and cultivate and will most certainly bleed over into all aspects of your being. • Oh. I lost my job today and can't pay my bills. It's ok?! • Hm. Looks like I failed my class and I'm going to have to repeat this semester. It's ok?! • I really hope instead of telling yourself or anyone else it's ok to not be ok, that you will actually invest in doing something about not being ok instead of just being ok with it. • Don't buy into these seemingly clever ideologies that are consequently creating a complacent and content outlook on life and the trials and tribulations we encounter along the way. • Don't settle, figure out what it's going to take to BE OK and starting eating that shit for breakfast. • It's not ok to not be ok. The people around you deserve the truth. If there is one thing everyone you encounter on a daily basis doesn't have to earn, it's the right to not be lied to. • Being transparent is extremely important to me. If someone asks me something, they're gonna get MY answer. Not what they want to hear. Not what they think my answer should be. If they don't like my answer, oh well! • Don't sacrifice who you are for what you think you ought to be based off of the superficial expectations of others. That's straight up garbage. If you're trying to be who YOU want to be for YOU...then ROCK ON! But don't think for a second that putting on a show is going to work out for you in the end. • I've been there, just trying to fit in. Trying to be a guy that I believed was what my family and friends wanted me to be. It eventually blew up in my face when I realized how fake I was being and how miserable and unhappy I was. And guess what? I'm not getting that time back. It's gone. • So instead of losing time, instead of regretting not being true to yourself, make the conscious choice now to stop and start being yourself. Replace the word "fair" with "EARNED" • I'm so sick and tired of hearing our society talk about what is and isn't fair. • We want what everyone else has. We think we deserve things that we haven't worked for. We're ENTITLED! • What happened to being competitive? Where has our competitive nature gone? Would it kill us to start putting forth effort? • I'm talking about real effort. Getting your ass out of bed every morning and going to work, or school, or whatever isn't enough. • Just showing up isn't enough. You're not gonna get the same amount of money or the same privileges or the same time off as someone that has the same job as you just because you have the same job. You have to earn those things. • If so and so shows up before you, stays later, submits more work, gets better results, etc... it's because they're doing more than you are. We identified that putting a band on my legs and forcing me to keep it under tension allowed me to do squats and deadlifts without feeling strain on my knee in physical therapy yesterday. It was nice to do squats for 230 lbs and made myself pull 365 of the ground with deadlifts even though my form wasn't ideal. I got it up safely, no strain and no pain. I'll have to work my way back up. Regardless, I was just excited I could do the lifts without it bothering my knee. Are you a believer?
