I often think about just HOW LUCKY I was that my family supported me. I was able to live at home without being charged rent, getting free food and laundry (my mom handled these tasks), and my parents told me to fully focus on college and graduating. If they hadn't given me that support, I don't think I would have made it.
When I graduated and got my first job I finally moved out of the house for the first time. That first year was absolutely excruciating. I learned a lot. I learned how to do my own laundry, and cook my own food, and deal with roommates. I can't imagine the ADHDers that don't have that support network. That have to navigate that. I was not doing well mentally during that entire period of my life. I also went undiagnosed for years until right after COVID when I realized just how bad things were.
I have a couple friends with ADHD, both of which didn't make it through college and I can see why!! They didn't have the support system and the burnout was real. All this to say, I will definitely be looking into the links above and I feel for all of you that struggled. You aren't alone. You aren't stupid. And I really hope you all are able to heal. ❤️
In hindsight it's very insulting to be told that flunking out of college due to adhd is actually "quite common"

the baggage
everyone comes into a relationship with baggage. most people drop it when carrying gets heavy. the right person helps you unpack. goes both ways. the question is - are you ready to unpack?
so you're either gonna trip over each other's stuff or you gonna unpack together. there's no other way. once you're ready for the latter, wash the dirty pieces first, handle them with care, then fold them nicely - in a shared closet.
home is built on all the stuff we carry around heavy trying to shake off or run away from, until we're ready to sit with them, unpack carefully, and eventually decorate our space with.

Look, I hope you will choose to vote for Kamala, preserving democracy, and women's rights and not a man who sent an angry mob to the capital and just lies... But either way your vote matters! Every vote matters!
Now whenever I hear someone say "they're all the same, it doesn't matter. Why bother?" I can't help but wanna punch ya. They aren't all the same. Your vote matters! Choose whoever best supports what you want to see in the future. Will they be perfect? Probably not, but the people and bots telling you not to vote are AFRAID OF YOU. They are scared you will go out and make a choice they don't like. Let them be afraid. Don't let them take that power from you.
Hmm? What's this? An anti-voter telling us our votes don't count?
Well! That's quite an opinion! Let's look at their blog, I'm sure we'll see a long history of posts there, showing us that this person is not a bot or a troll account specifically made for election interference?
...Oh?
What's this? Literally only one post?
Oh! But that post is dated to August 2013! Clearly this must be an old blog, it's not like Tumblr has a feature that lets you date posts to anytime you want- oh? They do?
Watch out, y'all - anti-voting bots/trolls are on Tumblr, and they are trying to discourage us from voting. They do this because they know that if we vote blue, we can keep Trump out of office.

Tried Sour Patch Oreos today. It could have went better, and it could have went worse. I was informed by friends and family that the Internet needed to be blessed with my words of wisdom.

My husband and I went on a NASA Tour and there were a lot of magical things we got to see and learn, but seeing Al Bean's mural and learning that he took the dust from his space suite and added bits into his paintings? 🤯 I do acrylic painting but that was just amazing to learn. Not to mention the SKILL he has?! Just an amazing person and so happy to hear people talk about him and other astronauts.
Adding a few of my favorite comments from others:
shinobicyrus - When they left Earth they were military pilots. When they came home they became preachers of peace, proselytizers of a unified humanity, into poets and painters. NASA may not have sent artists, but the moon made them into artists.
(Beautiful! Poetic! Couldn't have said it better myself!)
ctxrover - Alan Bean used actual moon dust and pieces of the insulation of his command module in his paintings, and he textured them with his space boot and the hammer he used to chip off moon rock to study. Like… that’s incredible. There’s just something so beautiful about that.
(Didn't know all of this about his boot or hammer, but just all the yes!)

You know that thing where you see a gorgeous view (left) and try to take a picture of it, but your phone camera is a joyless fucking nihilist who refuses to see the beauty in anything and only sees this (right)

I don't usually reblog. But I teared up reading this. You are loved. Rest. Because people care about you and it's what you would want the people you care about to do too. <3 Thank you OP for creating the words I both need to say and hear.
"I would kill for you. I would die for you" would you take a break for me? Would you sit down and rest? For a day, a week, a year? Would you let others take care of your needs for me? Would you let yourself be held for me? By me?

I love stories that mess with time BECAUSE they tend to be character driven. Especially ones with time loops. Beautiful explanation. <3
Time skips/jumps however drive me bonkers. It means the characters and myself missed important character building from their friends/world. Especially if it leads to oh so and so died while you were gone- and there is no way to rewind the clock to fix it. Usually I'll just drop a story after a time jump like that (lookin' at you Fairytail).
holy fuck everybody shut the fuck up i just fucking figured it all out. multiverse is about the regret of not taking the choices you could have made. time travel is about the regret of taking the choices that you did make. and time loop is about realizing none of the choices you make ever actually matters.
