IT’S TIME TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEXT ANNUAL WRITING EVENT!

Welcome to Hogwarts 2025!

It's almost September 1st! And that means it's almost time for the newest Hogwarts students to pack their trunks and make sure their animals are ready to board the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

On September 1st after you’ve taken the boats across the lake, you will be greeted by the Deputy Headmaster in the foyer.

As your name is called, please come up to the sorting hat to be sorted into your new house, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Ravenclaw.

This event, while Harry Potter themed, is open to all fandoms and ships. You will need to sign up prior to the event going live on 9/1/25 in order participate.

On Monday, September 1st at 8p.m. EST, for those who have signed up for this writing event, you will need to gather in the live chat room. I will spin the wheel (acting as the sorting hat) and each member will be sorted into a Hogwarts House. Once you have been sorted, you will be added to a private thread that is your house's common room. Once inside, you will have access to a list of prompts that only those sorted in your house will see. Please choose a prompt from the list to use in your fic.

There is a 1000 word minimum on the fic and your prompt must be included. Those are the only rules. The fandom you write in, the ship you choose, the type of fic (no smut, smut, dead dove) is up to you.

Please feel free to talk in the House Common Room thread with your fellow house members while you plot and write. The writing sprint channel is there for your use for those that wish to form writing group and write together.

All fics are to be submitted to your Head of House (the AO3 collection or to one of the mods if you use a different platform by midnight EST on 9/30/25. A new event will be starting on 10/1/25)

You must be a current member of Tainted Souls to participate in the event with goes live on 9/1/25 at 8pm EST. If you join the server, sign up and then leave you will be removed and will not be sorted as you cannot be added to your Houses Common Room if you are not a member of the server
