Curiosity has been on Mars for 13 years today!

Today is the 8 year anniversary of Curiosity beeping Happy Birthday on Mars! I could not ask for a better birthday buddy. I started this illustration three whole years ago so I'm happy to finally finish it.

Curiosity brings me a lot of joy and inspiration. She's 9 years into a two year mission and beloved by everyone on earth. A crew of NASA engineers built her and take care of her, and helped her sing Happy Birthday. She's literally too good for this world.

There's not a lot of time left in artfight, but I managed to revenge the only direct attack I got! Many artistic liberties were taken since these characters didn't have much description, but these designs kinda felt connected in a fun way that I wanted to explore! This is art I made for Artfight 2024! I really like how it turned out, but I did the sketch based on memory and might mixed up a couple of the character's jobs. Blanche in the bite me shirt is supposed to be the Pop Star, and Juliet is supposed to be a streamer... woops! Let's just pretend it's some cross-promotional marketing something or other because what's important is that they look good.

Artfight is afoot! I haven't had a lot of time to draw this year, but this was my favorite attack in 2023! Mirandimations is an absolute powerhouse that animated and uploaded their own 30 minute pilot episode of Atlas and the Stars, which includes these characters and was posted last year! It's super impressive and was so fun to watch after drawing these characters two years ago. If you're on artfight, feel free to give me a follow! There's always a chance I'll bookmark a character of yours for a future attack. >:3

a couple years ago, i started writing a graphic novel. this week, i drew these spreads to pitch it at Kids Comics Unite. i worked incredibly hard to get these spreads done on time, and i couldn't be more proud of the result. here's some basic info about the story in a mini WIP intro post that also functioned as a place for progress updates. while i'm not actively working on Mothwing, it's a project that's been present in my mind all the while and an important step in my journey as a storyteller and artist.

Will you be doing an OFMD calendar for 2024?

The 2023 pin-up calendar was a collab between many artists for charity, and one that we had a lot of fun making. It was a lot of work but totally worth it - we ended selling more physical copies than I ever thought we would and raised $750 for Rainbow Railroad!

As far as I know, there were never any firm plans to do another one for 2024.

I was so busy at the end of last year that I didn't even think about it... I bought a house in December, so that whole process consumed ALL of my brainpower for months beforehand haha.

For what it's worth, the 2023 calendar (and all of the beautiful art inside) is available to download for free in my shop!

I have a little headcanon that as Crowley and Aziraphale become less angelic/demonic as they share their lives with each other, the appearance of their wings changes to match.
