Good friday reflection

I know I am not around for a while in tumblr and was not able to share my reflections about the sunday's gospel. But today, I will not missed this opportunity to share my Good friday reflection with you.

Today we remember Jesus' suffering and death on the cross. He died for us - to save us from our sins. He sacrificed and offer His life for us. But How we react on this? We should be always be aware of the sacrifices Jesus did and reflect on our actions. Are my actions appropriate? benefit others? bring peace? If not, then change it but not faith.

Offer even just a small sacrifices for Jesus. A simple act of kindness, help, sharing and so will suffice. Start with a small and gradually make it a bigger one. He entrusted you with the life that you have right now and He wants you to make it fruitful, and a life with HIM. Keep the faith, whatever religion you may have, just KEEP THE FAITH and you will never go wrong with your life.

Love your enemies

Madaling mahalin yung mga tao o bagay na nagpapasaya at nagpapagaan ng puso natin. Madaling mahalin ang mga taong nagbibigay sa'tin, nagmamahal sa atin at nagtitiwala sa atin. Ngunit sinasabi rin sa atin na mahalin rin natin ang mga kaaway natin. Hindi madali ngunit kapag nagawa natin, mas may magandang mangyayari sa ating buhay.

Sa mga natatanggap nating pangungutya, sa mga hindi magagandang salita naririnig natin mula sa ating kapwa na tungkol sa atin, sa mga pambabastos at kung anu ano pang natatanggap nating masasakit, huwag natin silang gayahin at huwag natin ibalik sa kanila kung ano ang ginawa nila sa atin, bagkus bigyan natin sila ng ating matamis na ngiti o bigyan natin sila ng ating katahimikan sapagkat ang katahimikan ang pinkamagandang panangga sa mga umaapi at mga kaaway natin.

Love your enemies sabi nga nila. Hindi madali. Sa mundong ginagalawan natin, marami nang pagkakataon upang "gumanti" sa kung ano man ang nagawa ng iba. Huwag nating samantalahin ang mga pagkakataon na yon at gantihan sila gamit ang kagandahang loob na mayroon tayo. Don't do to them what they did to you. Instead kill them with your smile and kindness.

Spread the kindness and love.

#BLESSED

Gospel talks about being blessed. Ano nga ba pananaw o pagkakaintindi natin sa pagiging mapalad? Ilan sa atin tinuturing na mapalad sila dahil mayroon silang mga cellphone na magagara, malalaking bahay, may high end na mga sasakyan, nakakapunta sa mga ibat ibang lugar at kung anu ano pa. Totoo ngat naman na mapalad k kung mayroon kang mga bagay na ganun. Ngunit huwag natin kakalimutan na hindi natin makakamit ang mga ito kung hindi dahil sa Panginoon. Siya ang tunay na mapalad. Mapalad tayo dahil naibibigay niya ang mga pangangailangan ng bawat tao sa mundo, nailigtas niya tayo sa ating mga kasalanan.

Blessed are those who seek forgiveness and ask for guidance to the Lord. Consider natin si Lord sa bawat ginagawa natin, sa mga natatangap nating blessings, sapagkat Siya ang dahilan kung bakit natin nararanasan ang mga ito.

We are all blessed by God. Kahit makasalanan tayo, we are still blessed. Our lives are blessings. Another day here on earth is a blessing. Every lessons, every person, every heartbreak, every failure, every success, EVERYDAY IS A BLESSING, AND WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR THEM.

Success achieved when we listened

We have different approach and perspective of success. We sometimes view it as a motivation to do more and sometimes view it as a stepping stone for another success.

In the gospel, Jesus told the other view of success. Having worked hard to catch fish at all night, the disciples come up empty-handed. Fishing was part of their daily lifend they were not succeeding.

So they must have known the discouragement we all feel when our efforts and hard work do not result in success. 

Jesus tells the discouraged disciples, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Then the disciples listened to Him and put their nets into water. They were shock of what they saw and there were abundance.

Sometimes, I admit that there were times Im having hard time to trust God. It is blocking our way to live the faith. But when we trust in God’s word, we will have an abundant life wherein blessings will be overflowing.

Even we sometimes feel discourage, trust God's word and timing. While we are working our different agendas in life, we should never feel being alone. Entrust to God all your works. This is the key to genuine, lasting success!

God’s word invites us to trust in Jesus and say from the heart “speak to me, Lord. I am listening"

Lift all your worries and everything to the Lord.

Love is God

Love is faithful, love is kind, love is not jealous. If these three does not show, then it is not love. I'm blessed to be able to hear the gospel in the UST Church and blessed to have another wonderful day in Manila.

Today, love is the topic where Love is the greatest thing of all. We say that we love someone or something because they give comfort to us. Yes, it is true. But what if the comfort is gone? Do we still love them? What I am trying to say is love unconditionally, love faithfully and love God above anything, anyone else. Love God first, this will always gives you comfort so when you love another person or thing that give yoi discomfort then it is just nothing to you, because you still have God in you.

Believe always that everything happens for a reason. Just love and everything will follow.

Its Bible Day!

Gospels came from the bible - the Word of God. As we celebrate the Bible Day today, let us be reminded what this powerful tool is capable of and how can this change our perspective and lives.

These are the lessons from today's homily. We need to have Christ's freedom for us to reach the richer life He has promised. Once we received it from Christ, don't be too selfish and we need to share it not just with the people we are close too but with every people we meet in our daily lives - must be people in school, friends, people who walked with you in park, etc. Don't let money get you blinded with what is the most important in life. We need to make reading the bible a part of our Christian lives. Reading the bible will make us know more Jesus and love Him more than we do. Children must be encourage to read this even few verses per day with our guidance and pray for help to understand what these verses want to tell us and want to do. Pray also for the people who seek answers for their questions that they may realize that bible reading will help them lessen what they are worrying and thinking.

Bring the bible, Share it, and Live what it contains.

Feast of Sto. Niño

Today, as we celebrate the feast of the child jesus - Sto. Niño, we may experience the glory and majesty of God for he gave His only begotten son to the world.

Jesus wants us to remember Him in this celebration through Sto. Niño for this child jesus is so attractive that He attracts people to come to Him and do not be afraid to be with Him. God humble Himself to be a child for us to be close to Him.

Jesus sacrifice in the cross for us. God showed His love to us by always reminding us that we have Jesus in our lives who died in the cross to save us from our sins. That is why we should always believe that He will never abandon us and REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE JESUS WHO DIED FOR US - WHO LOVES US.

Now, how do we show our love to Jesus?

The Baptism of Jesus and Hatid kay Santiago Apostol

It was a wonderful day for all Plaridelños dahil inihatid na si Santiago Apostol sa kanyang tirahan sa Sipat Plaridel. This has been a tradition for us to join the procession and gather afterwards. Viva Santiago! We will see you on Decemeber 29 again.

On the other hand, the gospel was all about the baptism of Jesus Christ on Jordan River. It was siad that this is the end of Christmas season and start the ordinary time.

The baptism of Jesus symbolizes yung kababaan ng loob niya. Nakikiisa siya sa atin at sinasabi nito na pantay pantay lamang tayo. It also tells us that when we are baptized, we accept God and by descending into the Jordan, Christ fully embraces His mission to save us from sin.

I have read that theologians theorize that this moment of baptism carried such significance for three reasons. It symbolized that: “1) Jesus joined with the believing remnant of Israel who had been baptized by John; 2) He confirmed the ministry of John; and 3) He fulfilled the Father’s will (to save us from the sin).

So whatever you do, still Jesus is always there to save and protect you because He is the person who fulfill His promises to us. Jesus just wants us to believe in Him and in His works. Hold on to whatever He promises and wait. It will be better in God's time!

Solemnity of Lord's Epiphany

The essence of Christmas is Jesus (the holy)was sent to the earth for people to be holy. It is always God took initiative to manifest Himself to us. Billion years ago, He revealed Himself to us through the Creation. It was said the he is the God the Father as He create the universe. Also, as God the Son, he revelead Himself through Incarnation. He is the Redeemer. Who doesn't want to save? Everyone wants to be save. God knows that, that is why He sent His own Son for Him to manifest Himself to tbe Jews (this is the Christmas) and to the Gentiles (this is the Epiphany), the work wise people, to us.

Now, who is this wise people? What are their characteristics? If God took the initiative to manifest Himself through Revelation, our response to that is the Faith, our belief that He is true - this is being Proactive. Wise people are proactive, they used their eyes and looke up to see the star and found the light in the darkness. Also, wise people used their feet and followed the star. People who followed the star wont be tired because the star will give them the strength to reach their destination. Third, wise people used their tongue and asked questions. In fact, they read the bible and found out that it was in Bethlehem - they did not got lost. Bible will lead you to your destination. It is like a map that lead you where you want to go. Fourth, wise people used their knees and did homage to Jesus. They adore the little Jesus and kneel to praise the true Savior. Lastly, wise people give gifts. They used their hands and gave their gifts. When giving, always give to God.

The bonus, wise people listen to God. When Herod got the idea that the three will go to Jesus, je said to them that they should come back and let him know where Jesus was laid to praise Him also where in fact it was the other way around. He was insecure with the power Jesus had and want to kill Him. Insecurities can kill people. That is why, these wise people used their ears and went back home safe. Never got back to Herod.

So, we should be wise because we still have mission and we are alive. Look up and saw the star, follow it until you saw the baby Jesus, kneel and praise and give your gifts. This is Epiphany.

Feast of Holy Family

Blessed to listen to Bishop Honesto's homily today. Celebrating today the feast of holy family and Santiago Apostol feels momentous day for all Plaridelños.

Having family should be planned. Couples should have plan in building their own family. They have their standards and conditions that they follow.

In the gospel, it was mentioned that during the Passover feast, Jesus together with His parents, went on four day walking from Nazareth to Jerusalem. It was a tradition on them during Passover celebration. At the age of 11 (an adulthood stage), Joseph and Mary take Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem to celebrate his adult life, but got lost on return to Nazareth. They look for Him all over the place, finally finding Him in the temple among the Teachers there asking questions and answering the questions.

It shows that with friends, family, relatives, every journey is fun and memorable. Even it is a simple get together, walking along streets, visiting museums, theme park and malls. Jesus grows in wisdom in his family by participating in different feasts and celebrations with the guidance of Joseph and Mary. We should be like Him, do not isolate ourselves when there are important celebrations in the family or friends. Make time everyday.

Ikawalong araw ng Simbang Gabi

Sa gospel ngayong gabi, sa oras na nalaman ni Maria na nagdadalang tao Siya kahit na dalaga Siya pinuntahan niya agad si Elizabeth na nagdadalang tao rin. Kahit na malayo ang tahanan ni Elizabeth mula sa tirahan ni Maria, pinuntahan pa rin niya ito. Pagkarating ni Maria binalita niya agad kay Elizabeth. Ang sinabi ni Elizabeth kay Maria, "Napupuno ka ng grasya, ang Panginoon ang sumasayo. Bukod kang pingpala sa babaeng lahat at ang iyong anak na dinadala." Winelcome ni Elizabeth si Maria at ang batang nasa sinapupunan Niya na maligaya.

Salubungin rin natin ang nalalapit na pagdating ng ating Panginoon sa Pasko ng masaya. Masayang puso at isip ang ating ipakita. Buksan natin ang ating mga tahanan sa Kanyang pagdating at magalak tayong yakapin Siya ng buong puso. Katulad ni Elizabeth sa pagsalubong sa mag-ina, tanggapin natin Sila sating buhay at puso ng walang halong pagdududa at alinlangan.

I wasn't able to attend the 8pm simbang gabi yesterday. But will continue to spread message of love, peace, hope and unity. May our hearts be filled with so much joy this coming Christmas and the life after it.

Never fear the results of what you did for Him because everything is possible when you offer it to our Lord.

Ikaanim na araw ng Simbang Gabi

Mayroon tayong mga plano sa buhay na hindi nangyayari. Nalilihis ang mga pangyayari na hindi ayon sa plano natin. Noong panahon nila Maria at Jose, may plano na sila na magpakasal, may mga paghahanda na sa darating na kasal nila, ngunit sa kalagitnaan ng plano nila dumating ang plano ng Panginoon. Sinabi ng Panginoon sa pamamagitan ng anghel na "Magalak ka at magsisilang ka ng isang lalaki at papangalanan mo siya na Hesus. Nagulat si Maria sa sinabi sa kanya ng anghel at sinabi paano mangyayari iyon, dalaga ako. Ngunit sa kabila ng pagdududa niya, sumunod parin siya sa Panginoon at sinabi niya na "Maghari ka sakin, Panginoon". Tinanggap niya ang plano ng Diyos para sa kanya.

Sa mga pagkakataon na hindi nangyayari ang nais at plano natin sa buhay, huwag tayong magduda at panghawakan natin ang plano Niya para sa atin. Lahat ng bagay at pangyayari ay may dahilan. Maging tapat tayo sa mga gawain natin at sa Panginoon kagaya ni Maria. Tanggapin natin buo ang mga nais ng Diyos para sa atin sapagkat Siya lamang ang nakakaalqm ng lahat. He is All-knowing and nothing is impossible with Him. Just work and believe that everything will fall in their right place on His time.

Ikalimang Araw ng Simbang Gabi

Ngayong ikalimang araw ng simbang gabi, ang gospel ay tungkol kay Zacarias na asawa ni Elizabeth. Nung sinabi ng Diyos na magkaka anak sila ni Elizabeth, nagduda at hindi naniwala si Zacarias, na kung kaya't naparusahan siya, hindi siya nakakita.

Sa buhay natin, minsan hindi tayo makapaniwala sa mga nangyayari. Ngunit ang sabi ng Diyos, na walang imposible kung maniniwala tayo sa Kanya at sa kakayahan Niya. Huwag tayo magdalwang isip na sundin ang utos niya.

Magnilay tayo at taos puso nating tanggapin ang lahat tungkol sa Kanya. Siya lamang ang nakakaalam ng lahat.

Sianbi rin na sa tahimik, doon tayo nakakapagfocus sa mga gawain natin, minsan sa oras na iyon tayo nakakapagisip, aral, trabaho o kung anu pa. Ganun din dapat sa Panginoon, bigyan natin ng focus habang tayo'y nagdarasal o nagsasamba. Hanapin natin ang katahimikan sa ating mga puso upang marinig natin kung ano ang nais ng Panginoon na gawin natin sa ating buhay.

Pakinggan nating mabuti ang sinasabi Niya at upang maisagawa natin ito ng maayos. Humingi ng senyales at sundin. Ito'y upang makita rin natin ang katahimikan sa ating puso.

Ikaapat na Araw ng Simbang Gabi

Gospel

Me being a pensive person experiences hard time in knowing what to do. Surrounded by several answers and options, I am not able to determine what really to do with the problem. I am this kind of person who is easily to get affected if I know I did something wrong.

Placed in the circumstances, I cry and shed out all the burden and heartaches. I ask for help and comfort. In the gospel, it mentioned that "Do not be afraid". Kung may problema, wag tambayan ang problema, daanan mo lamang to. Wag magfocus sa problema, dahil kasama mo ang Diyos sa bawat pagsubok na ating mararanasan at nararanasan. Katulad ni Jose, sinabi niya na natatakot siya maging ama, ngunit nung pagtulog niya, nagpakita sa kanya ang anghel at sinabi na wag matakot. Ganun din sa buhay natin.

Sometimes you need to stop and reflect on your actions. Ask for help and Guidance to our Lord. Smile, everything will be okay.

Ikatlong Araw ng Simbang Gabi

Gospel

The gospel tells us to obey our parents. Came from the many ancestors, we should be grateful that we were here. We had been taken care by our parents well. If they are not here, then we also be not here. We owe our lives to them, that is why this coming Christmas, give what is due to them. Let our parents experience what is best.

They say the being a parent is a forever job of a person. He or she needs to prepare for it. No need to rush, they said and I believe that too. Hindi minamadali ang pagiging magulang. Both must be prepared mentally, emotionally and physically especially to women. As a child, we tend to copy what our parents do, say, act, and their traditions too. That is why, it was mention that parents should look on their actions and words if they are still relevant today.

Be reminded that our parents will be the persons who will be our shoulder to lean on. So give respect and love our parents not only on special days but everyday.

Ikalawang Araw ng Simbang Gabi

Gospel

The gospel tells us to prepare for the coming of our Lord.

Sa bawat relasyon, hindi maiiwasan na magaya ng lakad yung isa upang icelebrate ang anniversary or birthday. Bago dumating yung araw na iyon, inaanticipate na natin yung mga mangyayari. Inaabangan natin kung saan pupunta, ano gagawin or saan kakain. Sineset na natin yung mind natin to prepare for what will happen on that day. For sure magiging masaya.

Ganun din sa malapit na pagsilang ng ating Panginoon. We look forward on what will happen on the 25th. How God will do for us to experience the birth of Jesus Christ. We prepare for His birthday and make sure that it will be always momentous and extraordinary than the other days.

Preparing in terms of how we will others also let experience His birth. By sharing what we have to other people, we let them experience God in their lives. Sinasabi nga nila, minsan lamang sa isang taon mangyari ang Pasko kung kaya't huwag ipagdamot kung ano man meron tayo.

Magalak tayo at magdiwang dahil malapit na isilang si Hesu Kristo.
