Rumors are that Stripe is telling people now that they don't allow LGBT content, then that they do, but not "abusive" content.

So, in the whole itch/steam/mastercard/visa/stripe/paypal drama, Stripe seems to be responding by getting worse??? Or just not training their call center people?

I emailed Stripe at the start of this because Galabid uses Stripe as a payment processor, so I am technically a customer. Bookshop.org also uses Stripe. Stripe at first followed the Visa partyline, then, when I pushed and asked about shit like romances and sex toys and where Stripe drew the line, they said they would get back to me--and never did.

Edit to add: Stripe on social media has said no, they aren't banning it. But that is social media, not in writing anywhere else.

Time to bother them for real.

Also, remember that the ACLU is already taking the big companies to court over this, so if you want to throw some support their way....

Daily check in 08/13/2025 Finally Got'em! Spent about thirty minutes with a PayPal rep trying to figure out why I couldn't create a new account with my virtual phone number (see yesterday's check in for details on that) but when she mentioned that she was filling a ticket with an tech support and asked there was anything else she could do for me today, I casually mentioned that whole reason I was trying to create an account was because because I was trying to file a ticket about PayPal's censorship of Adult games and since she was already filing one ticket for me could she just and file complaint for me since I can't make an account? The defeat in her voice was so worth it. PayPal has given me such run around for so long that finally corning them was just *chiefs kiss* MasterCard is still tired but when they pulled up my name in the database and asked if I wanted just file a follow up instead of a new complaint I told them I wanted a fresh complaint, and they became even more tired as they filled out the form again. Visa is still giving me their script so I've gotten in the habit of reading their own policy page and news letters to them before letting them talk. MasterCard is also saying that there is will be a new statement for the higher ups "soon." Keep calling and keep writing letters! And if your in the US call your representatives about the KOSA act! Remember, be polite, be informed, and above all BE PERSISTENT!
