I will move to a new place before this year is over.
I know everyone deals with it throughout their lives. It never goes away. Sometimes I feel uninspired, apathetic, and just crappy... like I am no good at art and design. BUT NOT TODAY. Today I feel inspired. And today I realize that I have to feel crappy sometimes in order to have the drive to push myself harder towards my next goal. Here's a daily list for myself:
- (continue) applying for at least 3 jobs each day - if I get bored, move on to something else - paint, calligraphy, or draw one thing each day - post something to my website on Mondays (at least) even if it's just a motivational personal text post like this one - 한국어 연습 - Doodle or Die when stressed
I'm trying to create some structure in my life to help myself stay on track. I will move to a new place before this year is over.

고양이 (ko-yahng-ee) - Cat
My aunt got a new baby cat named Oscar. I have always loved cats and hope to have one of my own one day. My parents don't like cats, so I have to wait until I have my own place.

구름 (goo-reum) - Cloud
We've had some nice, sunny weather for the past few days. So here is a friendly, good weather cloud.

꽃 (goht) - Flower
Today's illustration was inspired by my manager's daughter, Marleena. She is a sweet, talented girl who gave me a drawing of a flower. As soon as I saw it, I thought back to my middle school years of drawing pictures of flowers and bubble letters.
So for Marleena, today I learn the word for "flower" in Korean! ...which pretty much sounds like the word "goat" in English. "Goat" in Korean is 염소 (yum-so).
Marleena in Korean - 마를리나

구두 (goo - doo) - Dress Shoe
This is the word to use when talking about nice or fancy shoes. I love red high heels, but I don't have any. I would have used "high heel", but it is the same in Korean. 하이 힐. The other casual word for shoe is 신발 which sounds really close to a bad Korean curse word...

팔찌 (par-jee) - Bracelet
I'm usually helping customers at the jewelry counter at work. I love to wear jewelry, so I will eventually make illustrations for every other piece of jewelry I can think of.
"Jewelry" in Korean is 보석.

폭풍 (poke-poohng) - Storm
I love storms when I don't need to leave the house. I can just curl up and listen to the thunder and rain.

부활절 달걀 (boo-hwar-juhl dar-kyar) - Easter Egg
These Easter eggs kind of look like balloons instead of eggs, but they would be more translucent if they were balloons.

토끼 (toe-gi) - Bunny
This is my first Korean vocabulary illustration. Since this is Easter weekend, this is the theme for the first two illustrations! Many Koreans celebrate Easter, but not always with the same traditions.

A Guide to the Color Names in the Korean Language.
I'm learning the Korean language, so this is the beginning of a series of designs and illustrations that will help me and other English native speakers learn more Korean vocabulary.
