I feel like no one write au anymore like maybe I can’t find them but a couple years ago there were a ton and now I can’t find any. I recently read a really good wayne family mafia au but i can’t find anything similar 😔 But I have discovered country au and im obsessed.

I love the idea of Bruce owning a ranch and being old money and sorta taking place during the same time as The Notebook. Or maybe even earlier similar to The Secret Life of Bees (really good book).Everyone in town just knows the wayne’s own most of the land in the area but not everyone is fond of their power.

I think Dick and Tim would have come from the middle class before being adopt by bruce. Dicks parents definitely owned a grocery store and Tim’s probably owned a saloon. They mind their ma’am and sir’s but they were definitely not accustomed to the hand and foot waiting they got living with bruce. And they would miss their family common southern comfort food after eating Bruce’s fancy rich people food.

Jason was definitely from swamp country and spent his younger years right on the water in a small cabin. I’m talking like with an out house cabin. His living conditions weren’t great and after bruce adopted him the culture shock was big. Dick and Tim were more like, “Oh you don’t have to pour my glass Alfred, I can get it from the faucet”. But jason was more like, “Ya’ll have water inside?”. And Jason was a little less mannered then Dick and Tim.

Damien is Bruce’s accident child from a night in the city with a rich snob. Damien is a city child and hates the country life. He doesn’t like the smell, the bugs, the food, the way people talk the list goes on.

Despite their differences, I think they would all take part in a common southern/country sport. Dick does horse racing and he lives for the thrill but puts in a lot of work caring for his horse. He also does a lot of research and experiments to see what works best for his horse. Jason does bull riding because he’s simply good at it. He wasn’t interested until Dick dared him to beat his record and destroyed it when he really became interested. He also used it as a way to practice control over himself in difficult situations. Tim does equestrian and i don’t think in explanation is necessary. He likes plans and predictability and that is equestrian mixed with grace and technique. Damien shows animals. He doesn’t like super big or messy animals though so he shows bunnies and small tea cup pigs.

I’m southern so this was fun to think about

Was watching the parent trap and I couldn’t help but think about damien and Jon meeting at camp the same way hallie and Annie do. They would definitely get sent to the isolation for acting like brats but instead of the prank sending them to the cabin for starting a food fight or something. I don’t think they would switch places for obvious reasons but I believe they would begrudgingly become friends because of the camp

Or if they did switch places, and got away with it, this would be a SuperBat situation trying to get them to meet and rekindle an old flame lol.

I have no idea why but this made me think of Bruce having to take Dick on patrol potty brakes. And he would be on him all the time about going before leaving.

Bruce: “Did you go Dick? We aren’t stopping again.”

Dick: Doing cartwheels “But I don’t have tooo”

Bruce: sigh “Just try I don’t want you telling me you have to pee while we’re on a rooftop again.”

Dick: “Fineee…”

Look I don’t care how implausible it is, I don’t care how ridiculous it is. Dick is eight years old when he becomes Robin. It’s the funniest fuckin thing and I refuse to ever make him older than eight when he bullies a grown ass Bruce into letting him go out at night with him.

Does Bruce take him on kiddie runs until he’s a little older? Maybe. Does Batman stand menacingly behind a brightly colored little bird to threaten the goons while Robin can’t see him? You know he does.

But Robin is still actually terrifying when he first appears on the scene, because he’s a teeny tiny fluttery little thing that does cartwheels and handstands and makes puns then launches himself full force to kick a man in the nose and then cackles when he bleeds. His laughter makes goons shiver, they hear it bouncing around warehouses and half of them bolt, because they learn very quickly what happens when a feral Robin appears.

The Gotham rogues all immediately have beef with a literal third grader because he took the bats attention away and also because he’s roundhouse kicked them all in the shins at some point and that shit hurt like hell, and then he laughed in their faces while making a pun about their villain name.

Majority of the rogues everywhere hate Nightwing because they all know he used to be the feral child that they all thought Batman should have put on a leash, half of them have been straight up bitten by him before he lost all his baby teeth, and they’re all so bitter about the fact that they’ve been beaten by an actual elementary school student. And now he’s all grown up? He’s fucking terrifying.

There's definitely a sibling rivalry when it comes to playing Wii Sports in Wayne Manor. Specifically Wii Sports Resort. They all have their own favorite sports game, but there is a serious battle over who has the best high score on the Archery game. Jason had the highest score for the longest time, and it wasn't until Damien showed up that he was beaten out of the top spot. But Dick perpously avoided beating it to honor his memory so he got really pissed about it when Tim asked him to play a few years later. Jason had the highest score on their only other game, Mario kart, so Dick took the CD before Damien could beat his high score again... :(

Anyway, these are what I think their favorite sport was in the game

Dick: Basketball 3-point contest/Wakeboarding

Jason: Sword play duel (Damien said it was a pathetic imitation of sword fighting)

Tim: Cycling road race (He liked it when the music would become more motivating towards the end)

I was watching hell’s kitchen season 10 and the new maître D reminded me of Tim Drake so much. I feel like Tim would have be a maître D as a civilian job in a restaurant like hell’s kitchen and loves all of the theme nights. Like genuinely he would wear a cowboy hat on southern night.

He would try to hide it but Dick would notice his absences every other night and he would convince Bruce to take off for a night to see tim in action. Bruce would also take Damien to get him out of the house and Alfred because the idea of tim being all grown up makes him bittersweet.

Damien: Heavily intrigued by the yelling and screaming, believed he can do better than the chefs

Tim: Slightly embarrassed

Dick:
