A Flower to the Sun
by timelessutterances (@balrogballs)
"He looks so alive, telling me the story of those living twins. Yes, I know. Sam-dad has always said, to be immortal is to outlive memory. But what is it, to watch one’s lineage dissolve before your eyes? Once, Lord Celeborn could summon name after name from history, like Lady Arwen could name stars in the sky. And now I watch them flicker away from him into scattered fragments of light, displaced from their constellations." _________ Samwise Gamgee comes across Celeborn of Lothlorien on a lonely Lindon beach, the two discuss their daughters, and a decision to sail together is made... but not before they stay a while with Sam's heavily pregnant daughter Elanor Gardner, to whom Celeborn tells all the stories he has left. A short and bittersweet story about fatherhood, memory, and a slightly different take on elven fading.

Part 2 of The Stars Thy Witness
“Is that why you wanted to meet with us?” asks Manwë. “To ask permission to leave?” “Elder King,” Finwë does not flinch from the storm in the Vala’s gaze, “I am not asking.”

When Darkness Falls
by theScrap_Witch (@thescrapwitch)
Part 1 of The Stars Thy Witness
They are half way through the hunt when darkness falls. Fëanaro halts his horse, reaches out with one hand for his father. Finwë is on his left, Nolofinwë on the right of him. None of them speak for a moment, barely able to see one another. The whole forest is quiet. Terrified. Something has gone wrong. Very wrong. “Atar?” Nolofinwë’s voice is the first to pierce through the heavy silence. “Atar, where have the lights of the Two Trees gone?”

pretty face, heart of stone
by ambrorussa (@welcometolotr)
Nolofinwë has spent his career in court well: getting measures passed, arguing with Maitimo, settling important matters, yelling at Maitimo, passing rude notes under his desk with Penlod, and pissing off Maitimo. (It’s always Maitimo. The guy’s an asshole! He’s got pretty manners, but nobody knows where he comes from or who his parents are. He speaks out far too confidently. Who could blame Nolvo for rising to meet him?) But when another part of Nolvo rises and someone catches them at it, there’s only one answer to save both their reputations: Marriage. ….why does Finwë seem so happy about this?

To New Beginnings | Art #105
by asgardianhobbit98 (@asgardianhobbit98)
Thror is not satisfied with the idea that what remains of his people are to live in squander creating a new home for themselves in the Blue Mountains. He wants what Dwarves deserve: a magnificent kingdom. So he pushes to reclaim the Kingdom of Moria, with his son Thrain supporting him. But his grandson is not quite sure that is such a good idea, and with one of his closest 'allies', Thorin takes it upon himself to try and secure a new home in the Blue Mountains behind his grandfather's back…

A Copper Band
by Himring (@hhimring)
Part 116 of Gloom, Doom and Maedhros
The copper circlet that Maedhros wore in Valinor had been made by Curufin. After their arrival in East Beleriand, Curufin offers to replace the lost circlet by a new one. The ‘copper band’ is also Maedhros himself, trying to tie people together with varying success. From the viewpoint of Curufin, because in previous stories I’d basically written him off as ‘hard to read’. He and Maedhros agree to disagree about the abdication business. With a brief glimpse of Celebrimbor and some foreshadowing of later events.

At the Heart of Time [WIP]
by thorinsoak (@elvain)
The fifty-seventh time that Thorin Oakenshield, King Under the Mountain, came back from the dead, he realized something. Something he had never thought or known or remembered or forgotten before. - For many years, Thorin had listened to those who claimed that the Valar were fickle and cruel, that they toyed with the people of Middle Earth at a whim, as though they were small children playing pretend. The Valar had a funny way of making things happen, some said. They enjoyed games and riddles, tricks, and puzzles. Nothing was ever simple when it came to them. And thus, the story begins.
