Announcing the 2025 Tomarrymort Vampire Fest! 🩸🗡️

Welcome to the land of the dead, the undead, and the horrifically cursed lives of Harry and Tom/Voldemort. Indulge in the inherent lust and gluttony of the vampiric season this gratuitously lonesome and melancholic autumn by contributing to the vampire fest! Interested? Here are the short list of rules we've got:

Rules:

+ Absolutely ZERO AI submissions, art, writing, editing or any form of AI usage. If we see AI usage, the work will be removed from the fest collection.

+ 18+ Only seeing as NSFW/Dead Dove is accepted and encouraged.

+ Minimum word count is 500 words for fic submissions.

+ Tomarrymort only.

+ Please have fun and don't stress :)

+ Multiple submissions are allowed.

It’s incredible. The feeling of finally being able to let go and the pure satisfaction of releasing is so intense Harry moans in relief. Why’s he in the bathroom at all? “The hell—Why are you in here?!” “You were struggling, I thought you may require assistance.” Harry gapes. What the fuck? What the fucking fuck? He fumbles, stuffing his cock hurriedly into his jeans—he’ll clean himself properly later, when Voldemort isn’t bloody watching him!

Blood and Water Snippet

I'm deep into a sicko Black Mirror gamer AU. Tom is Harry's father, and unbeknownst to Harry, the two begin to play the same hyper realistic fantasy MMO together. I'm over halfway done with it and should be finished soon. 😌 Here is a (long) glimpse at the opening! 💕

Harry can't think of a better way to spend his time than traveling with Voldemort through the Forbidden Forest. Together, they climb over a low wall and drop down the side of a cliff. Harry lands in a low crouch, breathless, his armor creaking with the movement. At the corner of his vision, his HP bar informs him that he lost a large chunk of health. Thanks to the runes on his axe and in-game auto-regeneration, his health is fully restored in seconds. Beside him, Voldemort—or Vee, as Harry likes to call him—rises from a crouch of his own, although far more cat-like. That makes sense, given that he plays a type of cat creature, otherwise human in appearance aside from the elegant black cat ears on his head and his fluffy black tail. He's garbed in light robes in shades of gray and plum and carries a long staff, which is spindly on the upper half, with an ornamental glittering snake wound around its crook. A black jewel sits at its very top, an imitation of the famed Resurrection Stone. He turns red eyes to Harry. At first, they were unnerving to see in such a handsome face, when this game is so hyper realistic, but he quickly grew used to them. Now he finds them pretty cool. Especially when compared to his own avatar, which looks exactly like himself. "The spawn rate for jobberknoll feathers seems low," Vee murmurs. His voice sounds like strands of velvety darkness, and Harry fights not to shiver every single time he hears it. "We've found more than enough mooncalf hides in comparison." "Right," Harry agrees. He's noticed that, as well. He guides them left through the giant trees at the bottom of the cliff—oak, pine, and sycamore, among others, all heightened and widened to a fantastical size like nothing on Earth. The place is eerily quiet. When Harry sends a pulse through the trees, no player tag bounces back at him. They're alone here, aside from hidden beasts. "We'll probably be on this grind for a while," Harry muses. "They should up the drop rate," Vee replies. He keeps pace easily with Harry's long strides. Vee himself is an inch taller than Harry, albeit thinner and less broad in the shoulders. "Each item for our Death's Toll weapons should have an identical chance of dropping, do you not agree?" Harry chuckles to himself. Vee has such a formal way of speaking. It's strangely familiar, as is his head of black curls, similar to Harry's own, except tamer, and the cadence of his voice. Harry can't place what it is about Vee that makes him feel as if they've known each other forever and not merely two months. "Might just be RNG," Harry speculates. "Makes it seem like the drop rate isn't the same, but really it is."

i need tom to idolize harry and put him on a pedestal as the ultimate standard for Correct Morals. i need him delusionally devout about this to the point where even if harry lost it and brutally killed a guy out of rage, tom would still genuinely believe that it was totally justified and that harry can do no wrong.

I love when in fics, Tom Riddle blushes, out of sheer embarrassment, or even better, from being exposed how emotional and whipped (for Harry/whoever he's paired with) he really is under that cold, nonchalant veneer. Love seeing my murderous gremlin go red like a boiled lobster.

Listen....I get why "cold, apathetic, unemotional TMRJ, learning about feelings from the 'How to Emote For Dummies' " book, stereotype is so popular, but in my HC, Tom's a feral, dramatic, little shit, frightened at how emotional he is. He would love to be a cold, distant, unattached, Spock like individual but he isn't.

Guys can't you see he's glass pretending to be stone? Glass is razor sharp yes, can cut you till you bleed to death, absolutely. But so fragile and breakable too. That's probably his biggest secret- how in need of validation and support he really is.

Unemotional my foot. Which unemotional person you know curses a teaching position just because he was denied for the same? Which detached individual carries cold, venomous rage against his father for leaving his mother for 15 years, and as soon as he's legally able to use magic, goes and kills him?

Tom admittedly has low reservoir of empathy and nil moral filter. But that doesn't make him unemotional.

The emotions he experiences probably ranges from incandescent rage to seething resentment, but negative emotions= still emotions.

He has a great poker face and is brilliant at playacting as if he has no emotions, but it's all performative.

Rules and Guidelines

What is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a challenge where writers and artists come together to create an explosion of new content for a particular ship. The first Big Bang was hosted in 2005 for the Drarry ship.

Rules

All participants must be 18+ to participate. Anyone found to be misrepresenting their age will be barred from this event and all future events. There are no content restrictions for the event; dead dove content is allowed. No AI may be used in either your fic or art submissions. Anyone found to be using AI will be barred from this event and all future events.

Author Requirements

All fics must center the m/m Harry Potter / Tom Riddle | Voldemort ship. If you are in any doubt at all about whether your fic is 'Tomarrymort-centric' or would like further clarification, please do ask early. Email us at tomarrymortbigbang [at] gmail.com. The minimum word count is 10,000 words. All fics must be standalone and previously unpublished, written in English, and 100% written by you. Please use a beta for SPAG, or plan to be your own beta. NO AI-assisted editing OR AI-assisted translation is permitted. There will be a mid-point check-in on September 30, at which point authors are expected to be 30% of the way to the word count minimum and will submit a summary and snippet in order to match to an artist. Submissions are due on December 31 (Tom's birthday). (Optional) Theme: There is no formal theme for this event, but if you'd like a couple of ideas for inspiration, feel free to use 'Birthday Gifts' and/or 'Fast Burn' as your theme.

Artist Requirements

All art must center the Harry Potter / Tom Riddle | Voldemort ship, and correspond to the paired fic. Artwork should be polished and complete (ie, more than a sketch). Submissions do not all have to be in full color, but should at least feature clean linework with thoughtful shading and composition. Artists will be contacted to request matches after fic summaries are due on September 30. Artists and authors pairings will be released on October 15. Submissions are due on December 31 (Tom's birthday).

Why 10,000 words?

HP fandom Big Bangs have ranged from 2,000 word minimums to 50,000 word minimums. As an example, Drarry Big Bang was 50,000 word minimum (source), Jegulus Big Bang was 20,000 word minimum (source), Remus/Sirius Big Bang was 20,000 word minimum (source). For the Tomarrymort Big Bang, writers will have between July 31 and December 31 which is 5 months to complete 10,000 words. Please only sign up for the fest if you can commit to this minimum word count.

Why you should read it: This is such a cool political AU with Minister for Magic Tom Riddle, chock full of political intrigue and assassination attempts and not knowing who to trust or where anyone’s loyalties lie. I loved the Tom POV and seeing how Tom has adapted to losing his magic (instead of getting disembodied) the night that he went to kill Harry.
