there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot in the trailer where john bursts through a wall and the shape he leaves behind is his original sprite from the comic. this is, alas, an excellent visual gag, and i need everyone to take a moment and appreciate it

I like how the homestuck pilot stuff is just giving everyone a rude awakening that a lot of indie creators know each other and respect each others work and that your individual cringe does not exist in a vacuum. And that at the end of the day you’re all clowns.

the thing I love most about tmagp is that all the characters are in wildly different genres. celia is in a haunting portrayal of the lasting impact grief and guilt have on a person. sam is in a slasher. gwen is in a cutthroat workplace drama. alice is having a buddy cop adventure.

so ur at the party right and there’s this girl in the corner with another girl on a leash with the puppy ears on standard stuff and u start talking to her and she introduces the girl on the leash and says “this is my little puppy, Emily. say hi Emily” and the leash girl does a little bark at u and u say “oh that’s nice” and ur looking for a way to avoid the awkward silence during a 4 second period that feels like a half hour so u ask “does she know any tricks?” so the girl says “come on girl, show ‘em” and the puppy girl gets up pulls out a skateboard and starts doing the sickest kick flips u ever saw
