Another Patreon-birthday suprise. Hope it reached it's destination savely and the new owner is happy <3 You know that I draw these illustrations mostly to relax and not so much with a certain goal in mind, like I do with 'real' promoillustrations. Nevertheless this is in my opinion one of the most on point pictures for Cosima. The crystal pieces accompany her since Volume 1 and are a reoccurring theme. Watch out for them :D They were always a symbol for the shattered and hidden memories from Riga, but also a link to her true heritage. Another theme in this illustration is the feeling of falling into the void, reaching out to a glimpse which could be a good thing, but honestly you have no idea what's going on at all and you are not sure if its even worth trying. A quite melancholic feeling which I think many people can relate too... I can. It's not that present in the story but it always lies beneath the surface. Waiting to emerge. Last but not least illustration of the #inkwash hero-series Velvér showing off. It's seldom that I draw him the way I want to. Usually we meet at my weeker drawing days and I mess him up. But here I feel like I nailed it and I really enjoyed painting the lightsituation ❤ You can pick up the original in my store. Polaroid 07/09 - Jorel Be honest. That's Not the kind of game you expected Jorel to play. But despite his rather aggressive personality he really digs peaceful games. Polaroid 05/09 Coloring this one was tough. I had this vision of a rather soft lightning, but whoever thought giving a blue fish guy a red dragon mount, was clearly mad... This color combination will be hard to handle in any giving setting. ... Well the mad woman was me... And I regretted my past choices a lot while color correcting this piece. Somewhere in the process I absolutely lost my opinion on everything and spent two or more hours, adding (and deleting) tiny details and adjustments, which I spammed to artist friends who couldn't see a difference at all. ... In the end (and after 20+ screenshots, I couldn't tell apart either) we came to the agreement that this version is fine and finished for the moment. (Someone shouted 'STAHP CARO - IT'S ENOUGH!) And today... looking at it with fresh eyes... I think I like it the most from all the Polaroids yet? Guess what keeps me questioning, was/is the rather 'calm' colors - I'ts still vibrant, but not as usual full saturated... I'm still a bit in doubt whether it will pop enough, when printed - especially next to the others. We will see... But I think this version suits Chaze and Anya the best. Got quite carried away with this one... Originally I just wanted to get more used to #procreate so I took a pencilsketch from June and threw some colors on it. And some more and more... And when I felt like I couldn't go further on the tablet I jumped to my mainstation and Photoshop and did some final edits...
