The Florida Panthers, and a certain rat's post-Cup antics with that stupid fucking belt, got me back into hockey and hockey rpf fandom. I was delighted by the whole thing. Find someone who loves you like Matthew loves that Stanley Cup belt.

It's interesting how much things can change in a year. I don't begrudge any Panthers fan (and, as a petty bitch that holds a grudge, I'm elated for Brad Marchand) but I immediately soured on the whole team, and especially that certain rat, with one White House visit. Then there's the Sam Bennett of it all, especially with the news we got about Roman Josi. Just... no.

And I just remember his throwaway comment -- "well, everyone hates Vegas" -- and think now about how so many people in fandom at least dropped them/him immediately. You either die the hero or live to become the villain.
